Brilliant

So 42K to step up to all that. Didn't whiskers just get a G35x with all that for under 35K?

The TL engineer said yes, against the G35... but in fact the car is now SO big that it would be better putting it in concurrence with the GS class... it's only 0,5 inches less that the RL!

Didn't you read that this is some real advanced stuff here.

What, now you are gonna tell me that Nissan puts this kind of tech in their under $20k cars?!?!?

Keyless entry is VERY high end stuff. $42k is fair for keyless entry.

They say that the 4GN TL is intended like a concurent of the G35.
I don't believe them.
It's clear they intended this 4GN TL taking the place of the RL in the range row: almost the same car for less money. (there is only 0,5 inches difference now between them).
But the RL will not be ready for the jump to the biggest class, the S/LS/A8 one, till the 2011. Bad thing. That means that the RL is dead for now.
Acura tried to do with the TL 2 things togheter: don't grow uo too much the price of the entry level (34k) for not loosing his fans, and taking the seat in the upper class with the 3.7 awd, for 42k gaining more "luxury" fans!
Than, at the end, what we got is simply: Acura has NO more a really, direct concurrent of the G35/IS class right now.
The hope is only a super TSX type-s in the near future...

It says it's available on the base and on the SH-AWD models. You just have to get the tech package. I read somewhere, I think on Edmunds, that the base non-tech should be around $34k. So add probably around $2-$3k onto that and you get your tech. I don't think it's totally unreasonable.

In addition, you have to remember that the G is already a couple years old and the price he paid was a little discounted. Wait till the 4G TL is out for a year or two and I'm sure deals can be had.

wow, time to trade in the TSX for a G35x?? i've been contemplating this move for like 3 yrs now. i may still test drive the EX35, new G37x sedan, and RDX to make sure.

btw, the FWD TL looks uglier with the dual exahaust than the quad exhaust like it does on the SH-AWD TL. i'm never goin to be a fan of that deformed trunk. Why did Acura do this?? it looks like the rear was in an accident and the body shop didn't do a good shop of fixing it. the crease in the center of the trunk is ugly. i don't think i've ever seen a car have a trunk like this ever. the 1st gen CL at least didn't have a crease in the middle of the trunk.

2nd gen TSX I guarantee will steal a lot of potential 09 TL buyers because the TSX looks normal, has better mpg, isn't that much smaller than the new TL, and will have a diesel version coming out. only thing missing on the TSX is the type S and SH-AWD, if it had those options, then why would you buy a TL?

What's truly sad is that they couldn't even spend 15-30 minute to proof the image and make sure that such color mismatching wouldn't be seen by the buying public.

what so people can be disappointed when they see it like that in person? at least this way customers can know what to expect.

I agree about that being a negative of that pic but it appears to be the reflection of the scenery behind the car, not color mismatching.. not sure what kind of scenery would cause that but you can see it in some of the other pics as well.. it's not helping the pics, for sure.

Hmm I don't think anyone has posted this from Motortrend:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ing_specs.html

"Acura says it simply runs away from the outgoing Type-S in racetrack lapping."

..interesting...it would be funny if they are actually referring to Willow Springs..lol...damn the current Type S is already 2 seconds faster than its rivals..and now this new 4G can run away from the Type S...hmm..interesting...I won't say anything though until I see proof.

Nevermind my IS350. The V6 version Hyundai Genesis will eat this 4th gen Acura TL and TL SH-AWD for brunch and dinner. We are not even talking a V8 version Hyundai.

Pwn sauced.....

Wow... talk about ugly as fuck.

Acura has been completely ruined. It looks like a bastardized offspring of a GS and a Saturn.

That ugly ass grill makes the car look cheap!

Only thing that Acura has going is the interior of the car. Exterior is just a giant mobile turd!

First time I checked out this thread and I have to say the new TL is freaking hideous. I mean, the 3G TL is so nice looking and they royally screwed it up all around. The only nice part is the interior.

I like the interior, has more buttons than the Starship Enterprise.

Brown leather is hot, similar to the Atacama S60R leather.

Exterior wise, a little busy to say the least.
