I shoot people
Acura really needs to get away from the angular shit... it's too much. I know they're trying to set their own "look"... but this shit just ain't cuttin' it.

I think he's considered Automotive Press. Also pretty sure all the major mags and sites have also already driven the new TL but are under a gag order until Honda releases the car.

good god, did that grille actually get bigger since the press release pic from acura?! wtf.
the back tails actually remind me of the 06+ civic coupe lights on steroids or something.
i don't know. the rear is tolerable. kinda like a mish-mash of the CL, lexus and maxima. but the front...i thought the grille was a better fit on the new TL relative to the RL/TSX. i think i'm going to reneg on my opinion.

Today, nearly two-thirds of all Acura vehicles sold in America are researched, designed, developed and assembled exclusively in North America.

It would've been ok if they said it was an Accord or a Camry. Unless Acura is sticking with the 'cheap luxury' market where people look for luxury features without wanting to pay for the premium price tag, it's hopeless in moving up to a true luxury brand. NO engine options, no drivetrain options, and now it doesn't even have good designs..

There was a thread about the 3G TL being an American car, and all the 3G TL owners argued that it was a Japanese car because it was a Honda, used a Japanese engine, etc. That's what we've come to be.... ashamed of products made on our own home soil, yet too good for products overseas (Made in China)
Nothing against Tommy either but just sayin. Oh and my Camaro was made in (blame them)

Let's address a few issues here:
1. Grille
Acura branding does not have to equal cow tipper grille. maybe they took it literally when the first thing to mind was a cow when thinking "branding".
BUT, the grille is one of the few problems this car has. a grille mod, and maybe a couple of others things, could potentially make this into a beauty. PLUS, a test drive and tech. package may outweigh your thoughts on the grille.
2. "I could get more for 40k?"
Ya sure? This car's features (especially tech) have come a LONG way since the 30k previous gens. List everything this car could have, cross-shop, and you will have a hard time coming back with a number around 40k.
3. Porky designs
This car looks like a Maxima. I do not understand these beefy designs. Sadly enough, I have accepted it. Even though i prefer designs from 10 years past, does not mean id rather buy a 10 year old car i think many on this board will agree.
Here are some sad designs that have been mutilated / put to bed:
LEGEND
5 & 7 series
A6
Maxima
(heck, even the G35)
If you get a design right, stay with the general design, and further enhance the lines per new generations. Designs try too hard these days. Get a COUPLE design ideas right, and stick with them. Many design cues cause for a collective disaster.

yes & no.
redesigns that have been not so favorable. (exterior looks)
G35 > G37
E38 > E65
Feel like there are quite a bit of responses of people saying "I wish they could put the G37 interior in the G35 and call it a day" (performance aside)

Most people who complain about the G37 complan about the lack of imagination from going from the G35 to the G37; they look essentially the same except for the softened edges.
On the other hand, it looks like Acura was puffin on some peyote when they designed the 4G TL; it looks nothing like the sporty 3G TL which everyone will agree was a good looking car.
Atleast you can see a progression from the G35 to the G37. The 3G to 4G TL is a huge disappointment. Its just gotten bigger, more expensive, and IMO uglier.

Now we know where the Saturn designers went, they all went to Honda/Acura or Honda has a secret agreement with GM/Saturn.... Didn't Honda supply them with some Honda engines for some of the Saturn vehicles? I guess this is the other side of the agreement possibly.
Honda and Saturn/GM came into an agreement, Honda will supply us engines, while GM/Saturn will design Honda/Acura cars.
