Hm it sounds interesting. He didnt say anything about the smart key. 42k for a loaded model sounds about right. 4k than the current type S but its going to have AWD and some other stuff. I am ready for someone like caranddriver to test it.

I cant believe I am such a loser I listened to both of those.

So 305HP from the J series using a 5AT.....

I really hate to dredge up the same points over and over but when is Honda planning on coming out with a new tranny and V6 engine? Arguably the TL is their most important car. If you can't come up with anything new for your bread and butter sedan then when?

They seem to be going in circles, chasing their own tail as opposed to the competitions.

All I hear is wait...wait for the new TL...wait for the RWD platform in 2020...wait for A-VTEC....wait....wait....

People can't wait forever! It's hard to hold back when the other brands are coming out with new stuff all the time.

5 AT

Hey Honda....let's get crazy and put a 6 AT in the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, I know...nobody else is doing it.

...but wait, we can get down right insane!!!.......How about a DSG gearbox in your premium brand line of cars??!?!?!

Yea, that would turn the industry on it's head.

I'd really love to have a short conversation with one of the high executives in Acura in regards to its branding strategies. Seriously. Some of the main problems or issues that they are having are not really hard to catch. I really just don't know what they are thinking.

As a general rule, the more gears you have in the auto transmission, the better the acceleration numbers and also the better the fuel economy.

As for the 2nd gen TL, the 4at to 5at change resulted in a drop of 0.5 sec in the 0-60mph time.

Only thing I'm wondering about is the quality of all that silver plastic. Otherwise it looks good.

Looks like it has an engine start button, and the key fob is just a holder (like in Nissans/Infinitis) it may not be required to be in to start the car after all

..... too bad the car will be uglier than a pile of dog shit molded in the likeness of Liza Minelli!

thanks for the vid! the rear from far away doesn't look that bad, but wow, up close that rear is ugly in the vid.

that front grill looks hideous unmasked. it's better executed in the TSX. looks like the grill is for bulletproofing.

Its to defend the driver from former Acura enthusiasts who are pissed that they've turned the TL to shit

I still don't like the grille area but it's more tolerable now. I hope that the aftermarket will offer a better alternative.

Just had a thought... 3.7 Liter for only 305HP? That's still smaller than the newly announced G37 AWD sedan with 330some horsepower.

That would make sense if the fuel economy numbers were something to brag about. But 17-24 is IMO not something to brag about. Granted its an AWD sedan and probably heavier than the G37 coupe that gets 18-24 or 17/26 with the 6MT.

Yet another area where Honda fails to set themselves apart from the competition.
