Let's say the unveiled model doubles the sales without any other major changes besides sheet metal? What would your explanation for the sales increase be?
Even the current RL had +200-300% sales increase over the previous gen for a few months.

The Honda folks we're not idiots for the idea but the implementation.

This is still just a refresh so I am not expecting anything too spectacular ... so I see a lot of people complaining not unlike after the debut of the TL refresh/Type-S:
No SH-AWD??
No 300+ HP??!
No ventilated seats?!?
I have no doubt that Acura is going to do what they can but w/ refreshes, 1 tends to be painted into a corner & can only do so much until the full model change.

I think Honda would be ecstatic with 800 a month for 2 years. But I seriously doubt that will happen.
And ya, 800 per month is about 20K over 2 years which is maybe what you meant.

UPDATE from the press conference:
The car has just rolled out on the floor. 300hp and 275lb-ft from a new version of SOHC VTEC from 3.7L of displacement. The new version of VTEC incorporates dual lift profiles on the exhaust valves as well as the intake. The styling updates are noticeable but it's questionable whether the changes will be received well. As rumored, the car offers realtime weather (from XM) as well as cooled and heated seats (10-way adjustable on the passenger side now too). The headlights and taillights have adopted some curvature which looks a little bit like what BMW's done with their headlights. Photos coming soon.

After looking at it for a bit i think its fine. Just that grill is what kills the whole thing.
I like the headlights and the rear is nicely done. Doesnt scream flagship but i guess that was expecting too much from them.

on to the next one...
they just don't want to compete, do they?
I'd like to see some int. pics, but so far, I'd take the current model anyday...
They haven't given me ONE reason why I shouldn't go out and buy a M35/45.

You should see how RL owners are responding. I am personally VERY glad I own a 2006 RL. It is a looker in the front compared to that....that.....I don't even know what to call it.

The interior is great, though. The rear is not bad at all. The torque number is pretty good....remember that torque is what you need for acceleration, not hp.
I guess I shouldn't have been joking yesterday about the resale value on my RL. I think it's going to go up.
