That mugen Legend is cool, but it evokes nothing Luxury in it and makes it even look more like an Accord.

Drool over? I'd be humping those velocity stacks if I had one in the garage.

I agree. It looks too sporty to be a lux flagship for acura.

Are you the guy whose mom has a 2002 RL?! lolz.
Acura needs more sport than it has had for much of its late-90s and early-00s lineup.

oh, and I like last-gen Eldorados.

2007 Acura RL to recieve 3 trim levels!

We've received reports from several Acura dealers that the ordering information for the 2007 Acura RL has been made available to them.

There are now 3 packages that are offered - RL, RL Tech, and RL CMBS/PAX. From what we've heard, the "base" package is just like the current RL without navi. The 2007 Tech package will add the navi system, and the CMBS/PAX package is basically the current "Tech" package, which includes the collision mitigation braking system, PAX tires, navi system, and adaptive cruise control.

As for color availability, Platinum Frost Metallic will replace Celestial Silver Metallic and Meteor Silver Metallic has been dropped.

So your not a big fan of Meteor Silver huh?! It was a tad to baby blue.

I wouldn't mind seeing Glacier Blue on the RL though.

Any other color changes we haven't heard yet?

Very in the way that the first-gen Lincoln Navigator was not.
The first-gen Navigator was more of a Sunday church kind of transporation ticket.

For about 5 grand more than a loaded RL you can get an A6 4.2 w/ nav.
I'd go with the Audi...no brainer.

I'm not hating on the RL. I have and will continue to say that the exterior design of the RL is For a flagship to have a V6 is very poor. AWD is good...but Acura should offer RWD as an option. The interior of the RL is excellent. Acura missed the mark...once again. The RL trails all the other flagships and has done so for years...the sales figures don't lie. The car buying public is continuing to pass on the RL. How the mighty have fallen....the Legend was once King and an excellent car it was...then they watered it down....and refused to keep up with Lexus and Infiniti when they hit the scene. Honda/Acura needs to raise the bar on the RL. They have the ability to do so...they just need to decide that they really want to compete with the big boys. I hope they do.

Well, I dunno. Again, maybe I'm not doing enough homework on Audis...but, from the people I know who own one, for $5K more, I'm not coming near anything made by them. BMW? Absolutely loathe the look. Mercedes E-class? Please...

So, that leaves me with the Lexus GS and Infiniti M...So, given the 3? I'd gladly take the RL's interior, SH-AWD, and looks--which I find quite appealing?

Maybe. But honestly, given Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura sedans available, even if I did my homework, Audi would still be a distant 4th.

Well, not true. I'm sure you know how much I lust for Porsches and BMWs (esp. the previous gen set of cars).

I'm a big-time fan of the current 6 and M-roadster as well. But, well...I'd hafta give up a few fingers for one and well, I need to hold and play with my robots.

German cars and reliability issues...this is true. Electronic gremlins...yes.
Like I said earlier it comes with the territory...if you can afford the car, you can afford the maintenance. (although many now have maint. included for no cost).
With the german cars one tends to sacrifice potential reliability for the "driving experience" of the car. Not to say that the Japanese Lux cars are not great...in fact some would say on par. But as far as german cars go if you are afraid of reliability issues, and don't have the $$$...then don't buy one.

Speaking for myself...the reliability issues do not bother me.

All of this is just , but if you are talking about exterior looks:
1) E550 Sport
2) M45 Sport
3) 550i Sport
4) A6 S
5) GS430
6) RL

Interior layout and quality (and all of them are damn good to be honest):
1) GS430
2) E550 Sport
3) A6 S
4) M45 Sport/RL
5) 550i Sport

Price (equally equipped):
1) RL
2) GS430
3) M45 Sport
4) A6 S
5) 550i Sport
6) E550 Sport

Exactly. I noticed somthing......

Acura buyers are expecting a car to be perfect/reliable. So when somthing minor like a rattle happens then they get upset. Maybe its because they have high expectations going into the purchase since history shows how soild acura has been. (ie. Legend)

German car owners expect things to go wrong so when somthing breaks they dont freak out. I dont think I know of anyone who buys a german car because its reliable. Shit happens.

i saw this thread in the TL section.
https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/srt-4-vs-vette-c5-139223/

So i made the same thread on the Audi A4 forum
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...0&pagenumber=1

I mean how can acura owners swear off the TL because of few "rattles". Big deal! Be happy your car isnt known for fuel pump failures, coilpack failures, AC failures, etc....

BTW Yumchah,
My car issue was my fault, not Audi

Acura to Unveil 2009 RL at Chicago show?

This is Left Lane News so take this with a grain of salt (they have been wrong on multiple occasions)

The RL will also being wearing new sheet metal, with only two body panels carrying over from the current car.
So either it will look like a larger version of the current Accord, or it will look unlike anything in the current Honda / Acura line-up.

Let's hope for the latter
