Poor sales?

I think something underrated here is the supply of the competition vs. the supply of the TLX.
These sites aren't perfect but here are some nationwide inventory numbers from autotrader.com:
Acura TLX: 8,669
Audi A4: 1,502
BMW 3 series: 5,409
Cadillac CT5: 1,441
Genesis G70: 1,348
Lexus ES: 3,031
Especially in the luxury market where people are constantly coming off lease - like sure a lot of people are moving to SUVs but if you really want to stay in a sedan right now the TLX is presenting buyers with the most inventory and therefore the most color/trim combos. I think this is sort of just now starting to matter and I think as we get into the summer it could matter a lot more given that the news just seems to keep getting worse when it comes to supply.

While Acura sales have increased which is great, I can firmly say a majority of those MDX sales were left overs models to make room for the new MDX. As some members here have stated, a lot of dealership got flooded with 2020 MDX's.
As for the TLX, at this point it's likely more of the new TLX vs left overs, but nobody knows for sure since sales numbers don't break down specific details on which year models.
Last thing to take into consideration, last year in April Covid has shut down most of the country. It's best to look at 2019 sales vs 2021 to make a "fair" comparison.

Agreed! Things are shaping up! I mean the new TLX Type S is creating insane buzz. As we see it here or in facebook groups. Fans or haters, everyone is curious to know and the TYPE S brand has a great history that everyone is excited to experience.

Some numbers will not come in till July. BMW 3 series is now reporting sales quarterly. Through March they sold 9,425 cars. The TLX through April sold 8989 cars.

I have still only seen a single 2G on the street, but maybe now I know why. I stopped by the local Acura dealership to take a look at the new MDX, and it was a ghost town. Even the receptionist wasn't around. No idea what was going on, but it was surreal being able to walk around inside dealership for 15 minutes with nobody home. I guess it might be hard to sell cars when there's nobody there to do the selling...

That sounds like a dealership very low on the Type S priority list!

On the other hand, I went to my Aura dealers in the last 2 weeks and I had to wait for a Rep, as the dealership was beyond busy. Non stop customers were testing the new MDX and TLX. The receptionist was so nice, she offered me coffee or water and told me I should have booked an appointment to avoid wait time. They have been very busy in the last 2 months. Honestly, MTL is not a massive city, we have 4 dealerships close to the center and I have been to all of them. I get nothing but best service.

It's taken a few months but I am at the point where I have started to lose count of how many TLX-2's I have seen in the wild. Not that I see tons of them but for a while I would see one or two other ones a month. A few weeks ago I saw 3 on one 30 minute drive through the north Chicago suburbs. Now I usually see about 1 per week.

Now I see at least 1 a day. I go to work and it's 30KM from my house. So far, black color wins. I have seen the most is A-SPEC - black!

Mostly seeing gray or silver ones, and 1 other apex blue one so far - but in the Chicago area silver and gray cars are kings. I think because in the winter the grime and slush doesn't stand out on their hides as much.
