It's the same now as when the Aspec was announced in 2018. No discounts and car inventory is low ... until it calms down a few months later.

Perhaps, but most Acura Dealers have switchboards that transfer calls to salespeople, and many customers would have a specific rep's cell phone number.

Wow, thats some kind of insight! Car dealerships hungry for business in a COVID economy...or any economy. You must have been a senior executive with that type of insider information.
I guess the constant barrage of negative comments on this site must save some folks' pets from more frequent abuse

Incidentally, I assume all cars will or have taken a price hit because of the tariffs on aluminum that were applied by his highness, despite the fact that the US does not manufacture enough aluminum to supply US needs.

thanks for sharing. Alex and Sofyan both replied to me saying the exact same thing. I asked Sofyan that it’s very weird the car is hitting the dealer on the 28 and you will be reviewing it next month. He hasn’t answered me yet.

I will do that. And I want to apologize for the excessive sarcasm in my post. I intended it to be more tongue in cheek, and as I re-read, it sounded rather harsh.

My dealer doesn't expect to get any cars until some time in October.

Probably Canadian dealers are expecting to get the new TLX later. Or perhaps there is a production delay.

Hmmm, for the late reviews... was the RDX review also delayed versus sale? I remember Acura pushing it pretty hard. Same for the Aspec TLX, Acura was quick to show it off. Find it very odd to be almost an afterthought now.

For movie reviews, the companies that know their movies are bad do not make them available for reviewers until after they are released. I hope that is not what we are dealing with here.

I have 2018 TLX Advance lease that expires on 10/18. My dealer said it was unlikely that they'd have a new one for me by then. He suggested extending the lease month-to-month. Said he expected November. (I'm in Long Island NY)

They had a media driving event which did have an embargo however it was lifted before the car's release date.

Apparently, it takes 2-3 weeks to ship them (I'm guessing by truck) to most places in North America.

hahah true!

But on the positive side, may be Acura doesn't need reviews. They have enough reservations and cannot fulfill the demand, so they are taking their sweet time Don't forget some movie production houses pay big bucks to review to get positive reviews before the release and the movie makes huge money on the first weekend and then goes downhill! There is always 2 sides to every story! Let's not always look at the negative side. Life has good things as well.

on a serious notes, it really sucks what Acura is doing...by now we should had reviews online. Not impressed by Acura by delaying reviews.

This was my first thought. Why would they show reviews after the car comes out. The longer it goes without reviews being shown, the closer people lean to another car ( as myself )

I highly doubt there would be any issue with the tech. If anything, it might be the speeds and transmission. I doubt it though

I am sure someone will review it soon

Could be issues with the infotainment system. If they're using the same hardware that the RDX has, I imagine we'll see the same type of complaints those owners have had. By modern standards, the processor is seriously underpowered and the actual software seems to be problematic to boot.

Perhaps Acura are amused reading all theses internet forum postings?

Guessing, some of the 1st tier auto media have already done initial drives with the press fleet, probably have signed off NDA/CDA's with review release dates

Question. They said the car is longer then the outgoing model but the outgoing model is around 192” and the new one is around 194”

I remember reading it was like 7 inches longer. Confused

Just noticed seats don't have thigh extension button at the front of seat, if I remember correctly doesn't the current model have it?

From some angles it looks like a Charger, from some a Mazda... I like those cars so this is not a negative per se but there's nothing to really make this car unique and much like the RDX at a quick glance I will probably confuse it for something else. There's a lot of "busy-ness" going on too, both inside and out. It has an odd proportion too since the front is so long.

It's definitely off of my list but I am still curious overall and will be following how it does.

Thé good news is that you have plenty of choice out there and you don’t need to waste your time even checking the new TLX

From MB to genesis, you got at least 5 models to chose.

Indeed, this is a very competitive and shrinking segment. But as a long-time Honda/Acura owner I will still be curious as to how it does, though, and what it will look like up close and personal.

I know what you mean. I see quite a bit of the Mazda design language in the rear half of the car. I'll need to see one in person to really have an opinion. It's all a moot point anyways as my wife gets a new kitchen before I get a new car so this is just for fun for me.

I believe the reviewer states that the center screen sits on stitched leather. I would be very surprised if the dash is real leather. Must be a good fake to confuse the reviewer.

I don't see this called out in the features sheet, so that would suggest it's across all models. That would be my guess, especially if it's faux leather, as it's probably cheaper for Acura to just build one fancier dash for all models rather than to have two different ones.

I was chatting with Alex on Auto:
“No news yet. They should be on sale by Sept 28 so any time now I hope. I’m not sure if we will get one before they go on sale however.”

our conversation was long and back and forth. I am just posting the summary here.

That leather on top, fake or not, makes it look pretty premium IMO.

My wife's 2012 Toyota Camry has a fake leather dash with stitching, and ultrasuede inserts on the seats like the new A-Spec TLX. I do not think those items make the car look premium.

But without them, the car will look even more cheap.
