Oh, and I meant I had a lot of shit in my trunk and backseat. Lots of weight lost. Feels like minus two people.

I've always been tempted to roll around with the rear seat removed.

Do it at least once. Give it a good clean. Hearing the airflow in your exhaust with the Windows up is fun.

This is an infamous problem with Integras and 99% of the time it's from leaky taillight gaskets. Check that out as well.

Jeremy...you can clean the image sensor yourself. No need to take it to a shop. You just need to find out how to put your camera in "mirror" mode so the shutter stays open and exposes the image sensor. Hopefully you can simply clean it by using an air blower (click here) and blowing the dust away, but if that won't work, you may need some microfiber swabs and some Eclipse sensor cleaning solution (click here).

Great pics, Sean...Also, a pretty simple point of entry could be the rear sidemarkers...not alot keeping water from seeping in there. Although based on the rusty pictures, it does look like the snow and sitting water on the top part of the trunk channel is what caused it. Maybe changing out the trunk gasket would fix this?

J.

John, you are the MAN...thanks, brother. I'll definitely check out your links.

Anil...you have a build thread, you're in trouble now, buddy...

def doing the main weather strip. just sort of afraid of the damage since the pinch is rusting away and peeling apart

i will check markers and tail lights. i was thinking of deleting the tail light diffuser any ways!

I doubt it's from there...pull back the liner and see if you can tell if moisure was getting in from either of those entry points.
AND...when you DO get the new weatherstrip...rip off old...and don't be shy...use wire brush and then sand away ALL the rust...then paint with some rust proofing paint, then maybe run a long bead of black bathroom silicone and smear it on the entire rear seam THEN put the weatherstrip.

i agree with Jer and John....check where the leak is coming from....i would just take it thro a car wash and check for wet spots....you will figure out where the leak is coming from.....from the earlier pic you posted it seems like its from the weather strip....but hey its doesnt hurt checking other areas....

^ Yeah now that I think about it, I'm sure my taillight gasket theory isn't correct since you have rust up under the rear deck lid. Definitely seems like the trunk weather stripping is bad.

oh, also the adapter i found is a 2x little add on. idk why or what te fuck its good for. i know on the d90 it pretty much fucks te AF out of working correctly but manual focus is still good.

found our tamaron lens, a 55-225/250 or something. but it has no af/m switch and the focus dial feels locked up...i'm afraid to use it.

Weird. My adapter doesn't affect the AF whatsoever.

I wouldn't use the Tamron either.

its sad though because it has a better F/ rating than my 55-200 so i was originally excited. however, it might be the lens we bought for our 35mm film nikon like...forever ago.

The D90 has an internal focus motor, so if the lens and 2x extender are AF compatible, the D90 should focus it. If it won't focus, I'd say there's an issue with the lens or the extender.

veggiemonster - nice progress, I'll admit I haven't read every page but 6-months of work has definitely made some improvements. Nice looking ride!

And now completely off topic - I've worked ~20 years in photo, 3rd gen pro photo family, so I can appreciate some of the pics/effects you've got in your collection. Not sure if you've still got dust on your sensor, but besides bringing it to a photo specialty dealer who should be able to clean, many recent camera have a sensor-clean function. If no-go there, you can try to remove lens/lock up mirror and blow off dust with a tool (not your breathe full of saliva). If that doesn't work, try something like this -

http://madisonphoto.com/spec_sheet.html?catalog[name]=PROMASTER%C2%AE-CMOS%2FCCD-Sensor-Cleaner-%28%231341%29-sensor-clean&catalog[product_guids][0]=95e69303-aceb-49d1-b2ed-e678a5d7a6bc

(Yes, this is also a shameless plug for the family business, but I'm always happy to lend advice to others whether you buy from our shop or not!)

Oh and the Tamron, depending on what's wrong with the AF motor may be fixed under warranty. Bring it into a Tamron-authorized shop near you - need help finding one let me know. But if you want to use it now, just set you camera body to Manual focus before installing the lens and you should be good to go.

Keep up the good-lookin' work!

it would try to focus, but it would hunt for it and then start cycling the full length or whatever.

IGGUS!!! thank you sir. i do think i have a setting on mine, because i've hit that button before i will have to order one of those kits soon! trust me, i'm very humble and you can feel free to enlighten me at ANY time

and it's a big compliment to hear a professional appreciate my attempts at things

Hey always glad to help with photo, cars, sexy women I want to photo picked up via car....

Sounds like it's part of the focusing module, but not the motor itself then. Maybe the logic board that picks out the hard contrast lines, so it knows where to focus. Should be little/no-cost warranty fix.

And not knowing the exact product you have, but the 2x extender could easily be part of the issue. I'm assuming you've tried without extender, just body and lens. Most extenders aren't designed for the newer digital mounts. Just like you can physically install a 20 year old Nikon lens on your camera, you will not be able to AF. Currently manufactured lenses for Nikon may not have AF capability for this reason. If the AF has never worked properly on this body, you likely were sold the wrong lens. If you'd like to send me the exact product name as printed on the box and camera model (D90?) then I could tell you 100%.

And if I see you post up one more of those steering wheel-logo shots, with a slight tweak here or there I think I'm going to tweak out!
