well swoosh. since you helped push me to this,.... i'm starting to take clients for my photos

and on a less awesome note the tire place gave me 225's instead of 235's. but i really like the way they fit a lot more. not a huge fan of the 'balloon' tire look, though i don't like stretch either.

been helping out my buddy repair that little droptop drifter, soon i'll have more shots and very soon after that a little video!

have a good day everyone!

and just an old shot thrown in for this page

Welcome back, Sean. You went quiet there for a little while. What kind of photos are you doing for new clients? Automotive? Portrait? Anything in between?

Great update Sean....for the winters i put on 245 thinking it would be better in the snow, BAD IDEA lol....

but yeah i have a 235 installed on my 8.5" rim and damn i like how it looks, not stretched, no balloon and just the right amount of rim protection....

so 225 on an 8" should do the same

and yeah post some pix on here which you are showing your clients....also start a FB page once you get couple clients in....you will be amazed how quickly the fire spreads on there

yeah i was suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper busy the past couple weeks and even took some time off work to take care of everything. usually that's my AZ posting time lol

trying everything. i do need practice with...coached? maybe that's a good word for it...but portraits instead of the more voyeur and sneaky shots of people i take now. so there i need practice.

i feel comfortable shooting animals and cars the most. so for now that's my main focus. i put the word out on my facebook about a week ago, and have about 5 new clients lined up!!! just waiting on the weather for them to pull the trigger! so far 3 cars, 1 pair of children, and 1 dog

Yes, gonna do that soon. i'm still trying to re-organize my flickr page....with >2700 imgs on there its a little daunting. i did put together a little portfolio set of what I have so far, about 250 of them. ranges a lot which i think is good.

also, i set up a pinterest. and soon will also get a blog page as well to have it all linked. My ex from years ago is now in marketing and i talked her into helping me for free lol

most of these you guys have seen actually hah. but here's what i've been sharing: http://www.flickr.com/photos/3038427...7629490396973/

but thanks guys!

That's awesome. Yeah, coaching adult models can be awkward if you're not used to it, but since you'll be doing kids you pretty much just gotta just let them do their thing and try to catch some nice candid shots since they NEVER stop moving. Same with dogs hehe.

What equipment are you working with? I just got a 35/1.8 prime and I can't wait to do some portrait shots with it.

i have a few friends i've been meaning to work with. they are some cute girls, so i could use anything good i got for my portfolio...so that's a plus. been trying to work on that for months but schedules just don't meet up to do it sadly. the kids i'm excited for, i think i can get some good ones especially if i'm there while they are having a blast. was thinking of meeting them on the lakefront...would be a good backdrop

as for equipment, i use a d90 and only have 2 lenses. and 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 that came with it, and then also a 55-200mm f/4-5.6...nothing special really. i wish i could get some really nice stuff someday!!!

i do have to get the body cleaned as well. the mirror got dirty somehow over the weekend, some lint from my fleece worked its way in there.

edit: looked into this lens...oh wow. the sample shots i saw look amazing! site i saw said it was $199 new, is that what you paid for it?

see if you can get something like this with that lens!!! except it would turn out muuuuuuuuuuuuuch better

Yep, I got it new from Amazon for $199 and then I signed up for an Amazon Prime trial and got overnight shipping for an extra $3.99 lol. It's an amazing lens for the money...similar to the Nikon 50/1.8 which is even cheaper. I did a lot of research before I bought it because I was stuck between the Nikon 35/1.8 and the Sigma 30/1.4. The Nikon got better reviews performance-wise and costs half as much as the Sigma. I just had to get over the idea I formed in my head that f/1.4 automatically made it a better lens, which isn't necessarily true. Back in the film days (full frame), the most popular all-around lens was a 50mm prime, which is the equivalent to 30-35mm on our crop-body DSLR's. Supposedly, this focal distance is the closest match to the field-of-view of the human eye. After using it for a day, I'd have to agree. It's not too wide or too long. It'll probably stay on my D90 most of the time.

The kit lens that you got with your D90 should do a nice job with portraits, but I'd really suggest the Nikon 50/1.8 that I mentioned above. You should be able to find them used for under $100 on ebay or the fred miranda buy/sell forum. They're fast, sharp and cheap. Get a decent flash too...even for outdoor portraits, some supplemental lighting is important. I have an SB-600 speedlight and it's great.

thanks for the info John! I'll def look into that. I really love the fact it doesn't distort much and does look like the human eye. i will be searching ebay for one now!!!

Sean....those pix in your flickr loook awesome !!!!

i was about to say you need some more cute girl in there and not to be a sexist, but that stuff sells....if i see a hot chic and nice car pictured perfectly, I would be more willing to give you a project/work with you, that seeing some kids/adults/random sculptures.....u know what i mean.....

get your cute friends, do a nice shoot and wishing you all the best with this....personally i suck at photography so wont give you any advice there LOL....

perhaps you can start something where you have 4-5 people who are interested in photography and you can teach them how to shoot, what to look for, how to edit, when to stop editing etc.....

It's actually only $125 + shipping on Amazon, so for just a little more you can get it brand new with a full warranty.

me too man, I was 260 pounds at one point...now I hover around 215 or so, but more more solid.

I heard from ^^^John, that you can send a picture of your torn up lock/nuts and mcguard can send you a new one.

You are going to use that grind down one side of the stud method to swap them out, right?!?!? I had put together a DIY on it, if you need it.

at one point i was at 276, dropped down to 165 (not healthy, just couldn't stop the weight loss though), now i sit at like 175 and am a weakling. need to hit the gym regularly lol

well it completely snapped, idk if that works still? i should look into that.

def doing that method! buddy is gonna help me out with it since he's done plenty of honda long stud conversions

Well, on the fronts, don't pull the hub if that's what he was planning to do...otherwise you have to get a new bearing pressed in.

Want the thread?!?!

PS...165, dang! Did you get sick?!? Or you can't help not being hungry.

well i was 'sick' and changed my diet, lost a lot of my depressed appetite, and lived WAY more actively. then all of a sudden i couldn't stop thinning up. i mean i was in good shape but only did cardio stuff on the bike. so no muscle weight really. i've always weighed less than i look.

need to work out, to thin up and bulk up.

Plus, it's amazing what a body from just planks, pushups, pullups and dips looks like. Those are my preferred...quick and aggressive. Get it over with.
Plus, I ball 1 day a week, bike 1 day, workout and jog the other 3.

guys i'm telling you I ain't skinny. I'd be lucky if i could be under 16-17% bmi. if anything, i'm a skinny fat man.

and anil, part of my hardship is my diet. not like lose weight diet, but i just can't stomach most meat. other than fish (salmon, tuna, tilapia, NOT bottom dwellers, those are icky) i can only stomach turkey every once in awhile.

i have like 2lbs of 52g mix at home, i just never end up making anything and i really should.

so i'm not a really vegetarian, but veggies are my main diet. i only end up eating meat like 3x a week at most.

shhhhhh, but i really have considered a steroid cycle to just get my upper body strength where i want. when i was 14 i fucked up my rotater cuff/shoulder and passed on PT when i shouldn't have. it's been really hard and painful to do upper body stuff and takes fucking forever to get any strength, and then it fades away SOOOOO fast.

and Jer, that's how i always wanted to do it. biking for leg power training and endurance, i can't jog because my knees are terrible and will swell up if i do that...so bike is pretty much it.

i need to just get in the damn habit of doing at least 20-30 min of strength training/lifting. if i can get into the routine, i hate breaking routines of ANYTHING, but so hard to break the routine i'm currently in.

^^^ how old are ya bro LOL....

well i was @ 18% body fat @ 170lbs and now am 7% body fat at 180 lbs....1 year

all it takes is some motivation bro....i signed up on bodybuilding dot com and its a good website for creating a new routine for working out, to create some muscle confusion....

for weaker muscles, warm up....light weight, gradual increase of weights, wraps is what will help you....

and about food....chicken dude...and tofu and some lentils....i cant eat red meat as my religion, so i dont....i cant stomach turkey and any fish (except catfish tilapia).....so i live by chicken, lentils (Indian Dal), tofu and fish (very very occasionally)....

and i thought i cudnt eat much as well....what i did is instead of eating say a cup of pasta, i cut it down to 1/2 cup....i used to get hungry in the next 2 hours....so i used to eat the remaining 1/2 cup....

and yes whether you are 17% body fat or 20%...eat good lean food more often to loose weight....

Veggie...you got it figured out, brother...was just curious. That was drastic weight loss.
Plus, after my stint in prison...I had a hard time stomaching "meat" too...
