^^^ LOL well its your call

One thing us AT guys know is NEVER to go the the dealer for a tranny flush coz they suck the fluid out leaving metal shavings in the tranny case and hence killing the tranny earlier.... (tranny capacity is ~7.8 qts but at a time only 3 come out, so we have to do a drain and refill 3-4 times for a full flush)....

Plus if you dont have the magnetic plug the shavings are running around in your fluid

Also, I dont rape my car LOL....i shift at 2K rpm and sometime drive spirited to see how many horses she has left

That is an excellent suggestion...never even dawned on me that the nuts don't need to sit flush since the studs stand out anyway into the open grooves in the rim. Thank you!

Thank you, brother...
Once I get my rear LED's and my fronts switch properly...I'll take another video. They are bright as fk, only cost me $32 shipped and blink perfectly.

Dude, if you're just going for the cleared out look, you can knock that out in about 2 hours. Get from bumper off (15 minutes) and hour and a half to bake, open, remove diffuser (zkw rep swap?) and 30 minutes to put everything back together.

Easy peasy!

<--- newbie

I just got done reading the past 15 pages of this thread and basically fell in love with it all Sweet car Jeremy! This has inspired me to do all of the work I want done on my car myself.

A lot (not all :wink of what I've seen here is what I want to do to my TL (NPB '05 5AT w/navi). I'm planning on gathering all of my materials (and money!) for a summer project, maybe a week's worth of work, but I'm excited to get my hands dirty. Some of the stuff I don't quite understand yet (like the tire sizes/offsets/camber/etc) but I'll do some more research when the time comes.

Again, nice job and keep up the good work! I might be chiming in every once in awhile now

^^hey dude, check out this calculator. it really helps you visualize what all the wheel specs do, and how each affects the fitiment. http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp

after you get those 'under your belt' you can make your own measurements and decide if you want to roll/pull fenders, or if you want a hassle free fitiment.

maybe its just me, but I LOVE the look of long studs and open nuts. closed nuts like on stock wheels always look so shitty to me.

plus they are cheaper. i got the full set for like $45 which isn't bad at all and the plating didn't come off on me with the impact gun

Shoeface, quite a compliment, thanks bud!

The usual suspects...thanks for the tips/advice. Actually, now that I'm going with longer studs I'll probably look into rockin some extended studs that way I can have them on with the spacer or without the spacer (type 1) that I ordered.

Yesterday, removed my rear wing spoiler again for S's and G's...turned into a clusterfuck...dropped one of the 10MM bolts into the trunklid, figured I could drill a hole and use a magnet to get it out, ended up putting a tiny ding into the top of the lid from inside...then since I had gone that far and the magnet wouldn't reach, I put another hole in closer to the corner and dinged it again. MORON. Still didn't get it, so went to Acura and paid 30 effin cents to replace the lost nut. Why I didn't just do that to begin with...is beyond me.

Anyway, looks great, I'll put up a picture later...waiting on my new tails to come in and my white sidemarkers. Then, spacer next week. Also, got my rear led turn signals. That should balance out the load on the resistor I soldered in for the hyperblinking and my switchbacks SHOULD work normally.

Im afraid to do that by myself im not mechanically skilled but if you can give a hand to help me take out the amber then cool lol if not then when I clear out my lights ill just have JNC clear the diffusers and install the switchback one time i guess.

I'm not mechanically skilled, either.

As with most people here, I just know how to follow instructions, do research, and give things a go!

It's all about the learning experience which counts the most.

I have experience working with cars; in the auto body field, though.
I took it in school heheh

I was reading about the switchbacks. If I read correctly, there are 2 types. Type 1 is what you have where its white when turned on, then blinks amber/white/amber for a signal. Type 2 will be white when turned on, but then when you blink it goes amber/off/amber/off (no white). From the sounds of it, you got Type 1 but want Type 2 effects. I'll be getting some Type 2 switchbacks when I get my hands on some clear diffusers.

Type 1
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED-B...-p5168713.html

Type 2
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED-B...-p7589718.html

Quick video on Type 2

Though I could be misunderstanding the issue you're having with yours

EDIT: Veggie thanks for the link. i'll check it out!

GtMaxx...I might be around to help out...but as I constantly get accused of, I "help" and end up just taking the reigns and doing it myself. Which is not helpful for the person trying to learn, plus, I then take on the headache of anything that goes wrong.

Sharky...you KNOW it...we're all just novices trying to make it here...and save a few bucks and more importantly, get it done RIGHT the first time. That's my MAIN motivation right now...NOT having someone else do it, charging me, AND fukin something up.

Shoeface...close and I appreciate the link...but my problem is that the bulbs I have, WITH the resistors I soldered in to stop the hyperblinking (enough for both front AND rear LED signals) made the front switchbacks not REALLY switchback. They would be full on WHITE...and the amber would blink WITH the white going full blast so you couldn't even tell the ambers were blinking. It sucked, but it'll be fixed tomorrow when I put the led rears in...I already tested that theory. I THOUGHT I wanted version 2 really badly but to be honest...I just want it to switch back and forth so version 1 works fine for me. Plus, for 30 bucks shipped...my 120 led bulb is SUPER bright which was my biggest concern!

Sounds good man...no promises but I'll try. I don't like doing this mod, but I don't mind giving you guidance, even if it's via PM or here.

GP, hmm...no sir. I have zkw-r's with 6K ddm tuning bulbs (to match my ddm kit in my bumper fogs). Bright enough for me!

So...Happy New Year and Merry Christmas everyone!
Was having trouble with my computer and uploading, so I haven't been around much.

Here I am!

So, first things first:

I got a set of CREE on ebay, won 2 auctions for about 20 bucks each shipped...one for me, one for fiancee's accord. Took a few pics...Aside from being directional, we don't have reverse camera's so we're very happy with how much they light up behind you. Aside from being useful for YOU to see, it also helps people that might be walking behind your car see that you are backing up.

In comparison to old cheap LED

In comparison to OEM

Both CREE

Hard to capture the useable light, but trust me, it's good stuff.

Next up, Mrs. Clause was good to me this year (my fiancee) and got me a few great things...Pearl Jam 20 DVD...a Samsung Epic 4G upgrade (sold our evo's on ebay already) AND a MITYVAC7400 with brake/clutch bleed adapter. It's a fluid excavator, so can be used for your oil (via dipstick) and tranny fluid etc.

Let's just say that my baby already got a treatment to new DOT3 Honda fluids...and took all of an hour to do. I LOVE having the right tool. I tried a brakemotive one that forces pressure in from the master...but hated it...it was messy and ineffective. This method of sucking from the nipple (oh yeah!) is much cleaner...I didn't spill not even one drop of fluid on my freshly painted calipers. Trick is to remove while the suction is still going. Also, cleanup is a breeze...I dipped adapter into some degreaser and let it sit and then drained out the old stuff. Keeping it clean is what keeps it working forever.

This is it, up close

See this...yeah, pristine new brake fluid!

And here it is, in action

Ok, also, wanted to post up a video of my switchbacks working properly FINALLY! I put in some new USR smoked ghost tails...along with smoked sidemarkers that light up white...WOW, looks amazing, especially on NBP. I'm in love. Sold my ghost tails to a friend and forum member...I didn't like the signal portion of the light, didn't match my blacked out theme.

J.

For some reason, my switchbacks, with the .24 ohm resistor soldered onto the lighting relay board, weren't working correctly until I changed my rear signals to led too...must be a voltage thing.

So here is the final result
Ebay special $32 shipped 120 SMD switchback 7443 bulb
Ebay special from same seller $11.50 shipped 7440 red led bulb
.24 ohm resistor on board for hyperblink correct.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9no-...ature=youtu.be

And here are a few new shots...went for a picnic at a local park with my angel.

As most of you know, my works are off because I need tires. Had my aspens hanging on the wall with brand new Kumho's so I'm going to be rockin those for a while. I love the smooth ride of 18's...dang.

Anyway, still running the blue lugs. Removed my spoiler again for shits and giggles. Cut out little carbon fiber circles to cover up the bolt holes from the old spoiler for now. I am not going to go permanent on this mod until I'm sure I don't want the spoiler. I change my mind CONSTANTLY and want the option to bolt it back on. I have a funny story about being a moron and dropping one of the nuts into the trunklid and trying to drill access holes to get it back and then putting little dings in the lid...boy was I mad. Ended up costing me fifty cents to go buy new nuts.

Hmmm...you're biased though!!! Smoked and no spoiler is you! LOL...we'll see, honestly, I do love it. Lately, doing some maintenance mods, I'm really enjoying how smooth the car is riding. The clutch is perfect, the brakes are perfect. Next up...10MM spacer with extended lugs.

She's an angel...she loves me for who I am and puts up with me.

AND, she's calling me back to the couch to finish watching the HEAT game as I type this.

and yeah...Cuban style here...into the ground. Surprisingly little recoil from an AR15...it was awesome.
