Forgot to mention, ended up going with this, it rocks! Pretty cheap at the local dealership too. And supposedly they will be keeping them in stock now.

So, met up with Tyler (CLtotheTL32) and Mitzy (?, I'm bad with names) and also Bryan (Nexson). Hung out for a bit, grabbed a bite to eat and parted ways. Great people...very fun gathering. Weather was not cooperating and I had the wrong setting on my camera so didn't take too many pics (forgot to even snap any more when Brian showed up, although Tyler did).

He also helped me figure out where my annoying rasp is coming from...got home and installed the ohm resistor for the turn signals, worked like a charm so far...and jacked up the car and had my fiance rev the engine. Turns out my friend that welded up my stage 3, didn't do such a great job, that explains the one day to the next annoying raspy sound...when you rev it makes the exhaust flex and I can see the gases and condensation coming out of all the holes.

Dang...

Anyway, here are two pics of our cars.

Nice pics Rock! Mitzy is correct.

I never go anywhere with my windows DOWN!!! With 20% tints, my daughter loves it that she can look out, but no one can see in!

So...the Meineke I went to to fix what my friend had welded for my stage III 2 years ago...(tips weren't even)...went to see them again and they checked out the exhaust leaks where the welds didn't finish up top and where they had cracked...and BAM...they just asked me to tip the welding dude...gave him $20 and an hour of my time and my car sounds great again! No more raspy fart can sound when revving...I hate exhaust leaks!

Jeremy. Mitzi and I had a good time meeting you and Brian. I'm not too thrilled that the weather didn't cooperate but I was able to get some decent shots. Here you are sir!

(not in any particular order)

I can e-mail you the high-res versions if you want.

Sweet rides. Man....I really am starting to like those Aspec wheels and starting to think about saving $1000 for a set of them with tires.

Won't be until next August or so though. I have through the set of tires I have now, get winter tires for this set and pick up some Aspecs.

Thanks, fellas...

Thanks GP...I do trim, you know...

Ravi, so you're saying I shouldn't take for granted the 8.5" Aspecs I have hanging in my garage with new tires? What a spoiled btch I am! When my tires are gone on my WORKS, I'm thinking about rocking the aspecs for a while so I can get new tires in due time rather than be in a rush.

J.

Swoosh, yeah, it was partially your fault! LOL...but the guy had a "make an offer" on his other listing and he accepted the bid amount anyway so I was happy!

Ok...so, I guess you could say I can officially start a "failed mod and repair" list too.

So far

1. Lumbar repair didn't hold, it's shot and I'm not paying $200 to fix it.
2. HID reverse lights with tailgater switch. I did it all right, relay and all...and immediately had a major gremlin with my #6 fuse. Removed all of it. I was torn on doing this anyway, in Sofla, people are hot headed and that's a "shoot me, please" mod. Plus, my tints are so dark it didn't make a lot of difference with being able to see.

3. Tails...yeah, I bought another set of reds since my OEM set was cracked and chipped, opening them was doable...and in the pictures the carbon fiber looks ok, but looks very amateur. I couldn't decide if I wanted red in there or smoked, had my fiancee give me her opinion and she's right...it looks way too busy with all the detail lines of the lense AND the carbon fiber. Not sure what route I'll take, but I got something coming, I'm sure.

FAIL

Not bad for my 2nd attempt at vinyl wrapping, holy fk is that tail bezel detailed!

Thanks Steven, unfortunately, when you really look at it, you can tell the corners where I either split the vinyl too close to the edge, or it wouldn't stick to the little detail work. I don't think I'll be able to pull it off. Overall it doesn't look bad, but I don't want my car to look "passable"

Looks good from the pics, but I would be afraid that the vinyl would peel after a while.

Don't worry, dude, I got a KILLER deal on these! I wouldn't have managed to cut my oem ones if I didn't have replacements PLUS my oems were cracked. I hate failing a mod, but I'll probably be ending up selling my ghost tails for some smoked ones since that was the look I was going for when I decided to mod them anyway. Why reinvent the wheel, they sell depos already smoked for pretty cheap online.

Soda, thanks, man...yeah, trust me, the pictures make them look a LOT better than they actually are. There are too many small surfaces that the vinyl won't stretch and stick to. It doesn't look horrendous, but it's not quality enough for me to feel like I would put them on my car like that. I may remove the vinyl and spray paint and do something else. We'll see.

J.

keep trying J, looks badass. did you really heat it all up? it can be frustrating to wrap anything because of how many heat cycles you need.

looking at the pics gives me shudders remembering all the boat trim i had to vinyl cover lol

Tell me about it,
Well, ok, one of them is passable...doesn't look too bad, but the other one, I rushed and that's the one that I split some seams. So I'd have to redo that one. About the heat cycles...I agree...hard work! I guess after it was all said and done, I felt like they were kinda busy and not the look I was going for after having put so much effort in.

The OTHER thing that gets me is that even after my 2 sacrificial cracked red oems...I wasn't able to figure out the easiest and best way to open the lights without damage. I was about to cut my ghost tails but as soon as i do, BAM, they are no longer resellabe. So that's $150 out the door because I cut them. I guess i wasn't convinced that the end result would be clean enough to justify going for it.

We shall see...
Honestly, it's weird but I really dig the red tails back on the car, especially with the type s sidemarkers since there's still no red that clashes with the sides...I LOVE how the rear of the car looks with them...type s's are played out and make me look like a wanna be...base reds 07-08, I KNOW I'd get bored of that quickly.
