I sure will...thanks...I wonder if they sell just the side mounted one and not the whole kit, I don't think my front/rears are busted. AND they look like a real PITA the change. About the camera skills...thanks, I try...I had forgotten about this building...it's perfect for mirror shots of the car...and only 1 light from my house.

Thanks man...I don't know about that...I can still see the imperfections and I learn every time I open my lights up or do something with a mod...but I guess that's how we get better, right?

about the silver/blue thing. look at this. when i was 16 i was in a CAD/product design class. designed a car for a competition, and had to make a model as well. i did this with duplicolor spray cans and 3 coats of silver, with 2 coats of the 'electric blue'. (well, there was joint compound, and a shit load of black primer to get it smooth)...i mean its not professional since it was my 5th night in a row without sleep, but just an example

also, lastly, what brand silver did you buy? i ask because my project ^^ the 'silver' was really chrome until the clear coat hit it. so there was some really weird spots and the blue paint didnt cover over that silver as well as i wanted (look at the fade down the sides)
It's the duplicolor engine paint silver...500 degrees...it is semi glossy alone...but once you add the clear, it looks amazing. Very happy with it...and thank you, didn't realize it was powdercoated...let's see how they hold up!

Cool little car...I remember using the CAD machine in drafting in high school...magnet schools are the bomb.

i love these mirror shots. one day i will get myself a mirrored roller shot (i don't care of what, just that i take it)
Sean, again, you are the man...I LOVE the last one...you can see the car in 2 different angles that I think look great...

Matt...you're out of your mind...I ain't getting another set! I'm almost flush with near zero camber...and rolled fenders etc...I don't dig the -8 camber with 11" wide wheels look at all...I don't care much for huge lips...I DO love concave, but not enough to spend money on another set of rims. These are slightly concave...and I LOVE rims where the spoke goes to the edge of the lip. They look bigger.

Ok...did a little research on the excelerate and innovative motor mounts...$350 to 400 for them. Then you have to pick how harsh you want them. Much more than I'd be willing to pay to fix this...so I'll be stopping by Acura on the way home tonight to order the oem one. Lasted this long...so I think I'll make that work.

yeah i was thinking about getting the solid ones but thats pricey as shit. i got engine and trans mounts for the s4 for $150 total....

buy an oem, then also buy a diy kit for a poly mount, turn the old crappy one into a solid one.

Was actually thinking to see if there was a way to put some window weld urethane around any openings in the new one...for added support like when I did the lower control arm bushings.

solid mounts will bring in vibrations...wanted to mention that out loud....

since you live in 100+ weather and turn ur AC on....ur seat will vibrate like a "massager"....but since you have a 6MT and you can push it to N which will take some of the vibrations out....

but yeah you will love how the tires wont spin on 1st and u will be able to get off the line quick as hell....

Hmmm...ok, I KNEW there was a reason why I never wanted solid ones in the past. Honestly, this is my only form of transportation and I'm at 75K...I need to go easy on her...so I shouldn't be too worried about how fast I hook up in 1st, if you know what I mean

More about low and slow now...quick enough acceleration to make it fun to drive and sound nice, but I think I'm done for now.

^^^ hahaha

bro ur a baby in front of me LOL...05 @ 160K

I have had the mounts for 60K miles....they are great....50mph roll i put on 1/2 car length on people with similar mods and no mounts....you do get a great jump, not only from dig but from a roll as well....

but if your planning no more performance mods then i saay, dont do it....u will be better of with the NRG engine damper...its a good mod....reduces some engine roll and takes a little pressure off ur front and rear mounts....

You know...I was actually looking at that...and it's a LOT more affordable...I'd probably prefer to go that route since it's also adjustable and a LOT cheaper.

yeah, my stepfather (that I picked the car for and ultimately bought it from at 5 years old and only 34k miles...) was the reason mileage is so low. I've doubled the miles in 2 years.

kidduce, thank you very much. I put a LOT of effort into taking my time and prepping and decal placement so VERY happy with the way it turned out and I appreciate all the positive responses.

and ps...2 things...
went to the Acura dealer...ordered the side engine mount for $42 plus tax...NICE...list was like $82 (I'm a repeat and loyal customer...). COST for them was $36 from what I saw.

Also, anyone hear of treefrog car freshners? It's a gel insert you put under your seat and supposedly lasts for 60 days. On ebay, found for about $12 bucks each...I'm curious if it really lasts that long.

i go to hallmark and get the yankee candle gel ones. they usually last me 2 months before the smell is totally gone. they are $5.99 or you can get 3 packs for 12.99 if iirc
apple is good, so is clean linen (with the heat on, your car smells like the inside of a dryer which you just opened)

edit: i wish they would split up their motor mounts and densities. a lot of platforms do solid motor, then 'street' or the softer setting trans mounts, then an engine damper. i had zero vibrations with that type of setup. i want the added traction. going uphill now in this cold is hard, it just spins away.

Hmmm...good info, thanks Sean...I'll look into those. Much more affordable...
Was thinking about getting the treefrog thing and only opening the vent 1/3 of the way...that would PROBABLY make it last a few months.

I'll look into the yankee candle although i'm generally opposed to having it hanging from my mirror.

Can we have some more daytime close ups of the front and back wheels. So far really digging your mod.....better pics would help me decide if i want to copy your style.....trying to get a better look how the black and silver work together

As always, very nice work.

usually the first three weeks i keep it in the glove box because they are so strong, might be allergies, but they burn my throat.

that one was actually 6 months old at the time, i had just picked up my s4 from getting the engine replaced. normally i dont hang anything either

Well sh*t...if it's $6 and it lasted you SIX months...than I may just go that route.

I dont' want a burning throat...haven't had one a dem dere since prison on '98.

On second thought, I'm going to find out how much they are at the dealer...it's $13 shipped on amazon but if I get one, I gotta get one for my fiancee' so thirty bucks on smelly things is a LOT. If it's cheaper at the dealer I'll give it a whirl and report back. I can do $15 if it'll last a year.

Hmmm...I'll see...if I'm super sold on the treefrog and it's reasonable at the dealer, I'll give it a shot...if not, hallmark, here I come!

the CAN stuff is great to remove smell from your car....i do not suggest it as a daily freshener as it will be over powering for the first few days and no smell at all during the end....

I love the Black Ice...they smell good....I put 2 in my car, 1 upfront and 1 in the rear....car smells great for more than a month and its like $5 for 3 of those trees....

PS: I do not hand things from the rear view mirror....i hand it on my gear stick....

^^^That was an awesome response on BOTH counts!

Swoosh, I did try the trees but didn't find that they smelled for very long. I'm telling you, this treefrog thingy is like a 6" by 9" tray that you place under your seat...it LOOKS like it would be VERY effective. We'll see...

I don't see why i care...I ride with my windows all down on highway and city no matter what time of year anyway...so it always smells like...well...OUTSIDE.

^^^ short shifter FTW !!!

@J: yeah VM can be funny at time LOL....next time i wanna bitch about him will send him 100's of pix to edit and i can go on a behind him LOL....

about those trays, here is a story....
my ex-girl left a gallon of milk in the car (no pun intended) and due to the heat the gallon exploded (beats me)....and that spilled milk was sitting in the trunk for 2-3 days (we always used my car and left her car in the driveway)....it turned into curd or some like that....

one day I went to put her car in the garage and freaking threw up the minute i opened that car....it smelled that bad....i had her drive up to a friend of mine who details car and asked him to do the full interior (there was no way in hell i was working in that smell).....well he kept a small tray of freshener in the trunk and left all the door open and 2 big fans blowing air thro the car all night long....the car did come out pretty good smelling....i asked him for the tray and he said, "this shit is powerful, i only use a piece of it every time" and gave me a tray....

i dont know if its the same thing we are talking about but yeah i would try with a smaller portion first....its like a little cologne is great, overpowering one is not that good....

Dude...in 6th grade i did this project with letting chicken bones decay...holy mother of god...what a smell...I got you...that sounds HORRENDOUS! I had a milkshake fall over in my EP and the carpet NEVER went back to being normal...it was like hard like cardboard!

Veg...did you see the GIRTH on that thing though?!?!
It's a brand called monsterknobs...got it online...it's made of some resin so it doesn't get hot or cold and sits probably about 3/4" (ballpark) of an inch lower than stock plus allows to sit your hand on top rather than grabbing the side when shifting. I did this in addition to the comptech short shifter and swapping to the GM synchromesh FM fluid so needless to say my car shifts very precisely and quickly. Well...I shift it that way...

treefrog has a "squash" I may have to give a shot...

Veg...honestly...I remember it taking some getting used to but I love it. You know, normally, you have to move your whole arm to shift...well, this allows you to rest your elbow on the armrest and just shift with your wrist...it reduces the throw a lot. Plus...that notorious being about to move the shifter around in a few inch radius when in gear (vague feeling of which gear you're in) is drastically reduced.
