rotors are OEM...
my pads are ceramic autozone cmax golds front and rear. Lifetime warranty on pads INCLUDING WEAR! Can you imagine...and I've used the warranty...like, I've actually gone to autozone and turned in the box with the old ones and they give me brand new ones.

Anytime Anil...
NO SIR...autozone is the ONLY one that offers the replacement including wear...the other ones are only on defects. I know it sounds nuts, but it works.

J.

This was also why I was not that tempted by the brakemotive group buy, he won't offer a discount on the rotor ALONE. and I have ZERO need for the pads. Maybe I'll sell the pads as a package on the side.

True story.
I actually used to work at Autozone too; and i thought the warranty was absurd lol. I couldn't believe it? Rotors only have 2 year warranty though; unless they changed since I worked there. They have lifetime warranty on almost all the parts behind the counter except electricals.

crap, i haven't removed the screws from my rotors yet since buying....i hope they aren't seized

baah....now the pads show a "limited lifetime warranty"

If a part fails during the warranty period shown on your receipt, bring the part to any AutoZone store and you will receive a replacement or refund. Warranty excludes damage caused by misuse, abuse, other faulty parts, improper installation or off-road, commercial or marine use. Warranties on replacement parts cover the unused portion of the original warranty or 90 days, whichever is longer. Warranties expire when you sell your vehicle.

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY REPRESENTS THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF AUTOZONE, FOR ANY PART OR PRODUCT. AUTOZONE MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. AUTOZONE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or exclusion or limitation on incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

All of AutoZone's parts, except those mentioned above, are covered by our Limited Warranty. The length of AutoZone's Limited Warranty varies with each part. To determine the length of the Warranty on your part, please look-up or search forParts or Accessories.

nah its always been that way. again i don't know if the stores changed the procedure; but if you go in and ask them how the warranty works have them explain it to you. if they say otherwise; say "well i've bought pads at other autozones and they covered them for wear as well?" then go crazy and ask to speak to their manager lol.

just kidding. but really the warranty has always been like that; at least that's what they told me to say to the customers.. and at any autozone;if you complain enough you'll get what you want.
i had one guy bring me a battery saying he had it under warranty; couldn't find under his name, number, anything. He probably got it from the junkyard for all i know; he complained, called corporate and corporate called us "give the customer the battery for free;charge it to the store and make sure it's put under his name this time..

Going up the chain of command is the key to getting anything done...telling the clerk you'll kick his azz doesn't do anything in the way of actual satisfaction!

I can attest to having used the replacement warranty about 2 months ago...and get this, my fiancee's 08 accord needs rear pads every 17K on the dot. So when I first changed them, they didn't offer the Cmax's...so they actually took back the ones I bought after one warranty replacement already and 3 years and let me pay the difference of $12 to upgrade her to cmax's. That day I also purchased her front pads and my rear pads to match...so I have cmax gold ceramics on front/rear of both our vehicles. COst was between $55 and $62 for any of the sets. No brainer.

Sean, get yourself something that can take a solid hit with a sledge hammer (I used one of my impact hammer extension, a 6" one for the 1/2" ratchet)...then place it directly on the head of your rotor screw (NOT on the rotor itself, obvi) and hit it 5 or six times with the 4lb sledge...or until you get a solid metal on metal direct hit. Then, the screw should come right out. I then put a little anti seize on that bad boy.

nice, so basically the sledge crushes the rust, and gives some gap on the threads? sounds easy enough. i'm gonna do that.

^^^ veggie, you got a hookup at an auto store like firestone/tire plus/etc etc ?

I usually take it in for a rotate and balance (free) and ask the guy to break couple bolts for me and hand tighten them (i just buy that guy lunch).....this way i dont have to deal with seized bolts....i have had scenarios where the bolts have messed up my install and hence i take this route....

Well, I haven't done the back...and obviously this is a Florida car but the whacking the screw heads with the sledge worked for me like a charm, on ALL the screws. Was super happy about that.

But yeah, if you can find someone to do it for you, that would be awesome too.

more than the screw J....

there are couple bolts that hold the caliper and wont budge coz of the salt and icy winters here....i had stripped a bolt once and an hour install took 5 hours....

since then i like to play it safe

remember the rule of thumb: "there will always be 1 bolt which will mess ur install"

shooter: I eat pieces of sh*t like you for breakfast!
happy: you eat sh*t for breakfast!?!?

LOL...that was awesome.
I hadn't thought of that, Swoosh...actually, driver side caliper bolts were TOUGH to get off! I had to use my 650 ft/lb dual hammer impact gun on that badboy and i gots no rust!

LOL...no kidding...these tres are gorgeous...the tread is sooo deep and the compound is soft. 2 things I noticed, instead of nylon belt, it's a rayon belt and they are made in the CZECH republic...uh oh...

Can't wait to get the wheels back on. Also, got a little something extra coming this go around too...should have done it long ago.

Set aside all of the good reviews I've already ready, I can't wait to hear your review on those tires. I'll be browsing for some new ones in a few months after this "winter" in the midwest is over and had those Conti DW's on my list.

Matt, you're ambitious, I don't even let my fiancee ride around on them and they look great on her 8th gen accord coupe !!!

Shoeface, absolutely, man...check back in after they are installed and I'll give a little review on em. Just looking at them though, they look awesome. The 225/35/19 was being discontinued (the size, not tire) so tirerack had em for $105 per tire plus shipping. Not too shabby for 19's. If I love them, I'll probably stick with conti's from now on.

I'm guessing if he wants DW's and not DWS it's prolly cause he's got a winter set? Swoosh, you have a friggin hookup EVERYWHERE! Sam's has 19's? I don't think I've ever seen 19's at Bj's and costco?!

So what's better, being cute and a girl and curbing, or a guy that doesn't curb.

hahahahahah...that had me laughing, my friend! I honestly need to get them refinished at some point...or I can refinish them a lot better this go around. they need it. Maybe I'm too anal.

My idea is to get a separate winter set - use my stock wheels for winter and get some Gunmetal Forgestars F14's for the summer but that probably won't happen until next year anyways (cash flow). If Swoosh and SB say get DWS's, then I'd be a fool not to get them if I don't have a designated winter set yet

in the summer in chicago it can get to 105* actual, which ends up at like 140 road temps. regular rubber gets torn up at like 80* ambient, silica's just cry on every turn

they just weren't up to par imho. this tire is about 1000x better and on paper is about the same design (silica, sorta performance based, supposed to be biased towards winter rather than summer)
nokian wr2-

but again, they don't hold up if it gets hot.
