Project clean,
Thanks man...no sir, it's ACTUALLY the actual PHYSICAL portion of the lumbar support. I had fixed it with tie wraps once, but eventually the whole bottom of the support cracked. I'm sure that's not expensive but from the looks of the service diagrams they only sell that portion WITH the new motor (for about $197). I don't need the motor itself and I know the electrical works as I've seen it go up and down from the inside, it's just snapped off where it connect to the plastic that actually presses into your back.

About the lighting on the door...could be the socket, i did use a test light across both terminals and the passenger does light up, but not the driver side. I wish I knew where the wires ended up under the dash to see if I could find an area that is crimped or touching metal that may have caused it to burn itself out.

Otherwise, no biggy, it's mainly to get it working...the interior LED's I got going on are bright enough to light up the world!

Thanks again for the time you took to research.

J.

Hmmm...acura guy, huh?!?
No, you call me a pic whore then ask me to post more. That would make you my p.i.m.p and I don't think so.

Clean: Yes sir...mine was professionally (kinda, a friend that was learning and didn't prep that well) painted and it matches NBP perfectly. BUT, I've seen MANY people do it up in vinyl and it looks great.

I'd suggest, making sure you have a nice clean surface, maybe even buy that stuff you put into the detailed crevices to make sure the vinyl sticks to it, then just lay it out, heat it up and form it. It's a LOT easier than you'd think. After attempting and ALMOST getting the 3G bezel for the tails done in CF vinyl...I think I can handle the grill easy.

PS...DO they sell JUST the lumbar part without the motor? If so, it's probably cheaper.

Also, I had a buddy that set up my account at my local acura. Normally, I think I get 15% above invoice. Pretty good, right?

3 options for you brother:

1> paint
2> vinyl
3> plastic dip

paint and vinyl are tougher to accomplish.....and they chip easy.....

plastic dip is simple as hell, you dont like it, peel it off....

i had mine done at a shop....very well paint matched, but it chips every 2 odd years.....

nice;yea im just hesitant with paint on plastic. Mehh; we'll see what I decide. Need to find a good quality vinyl first.
Rockstar: they don't sell the just the Lumbar Piece seperately; only along with the motor.

See # 19? That's the Motor and actual Lumbar.

As for your account at 15% over Cost. YES that is a great deal. Nice goin'!

Thanks man, yeah, went by the dealership today, even the parts guy, who is very nice...told me I get it cheaper than they give it to him. $180 for the lumbar. I'll probably end up trying to figure out another way to do it. Even at that price that's a lot for a not used option on the car (by me).

Picked up a new door pull wire (my plastic thing broke) and new rear window sash...mine has this weird set of ridges in it. $40, can't complain, as well as the 2 clips for the rear of the seat that broke.

Great progress Rockstar!

You guys like to drive high speeds on small roads as well eh? Yesterday got the scare of my life. Curvy long road near me I use often. 3+ times a day. NEVER have seen a cop there. Anyways limit is 20 LOL I was doing 75? Going through the curves when all off a sudden before taking the last curve my KA went off unexpectedly. I slammed on brakes from 75>15. As soon I rounded the curve I saw the state trooper sitting right there. He would have had me!

I already have a 6 point speeding ticket pending! Don't need anymore! First time my radar has ever saved me LOL. Sorry just had to share that!

WOW Dude...yeah, that'll teach you!

I know KA well...K's down here are false positives...but KA, all day, I slow the fk down. He would have bent you over your hood and made you spell R U N

Glad you didn't get nailed and be careful!

Valentine 1?

Gotcha...I love my valentine (Betty) and my Valentine1 (lifesaver).

I have it hard wired and run up the A pillar to my sun visor. Keep the sun off the phone line plug thingy...that starts crumbling over time, plus the V1 gets in the way of the sun shade I put up.

whoa; pretty sleek interior on those huh? although the center panel looks kinda...empty? needs navi lol.
rockstar: yea you're definitely gettin' a good deal. and i know what you mean; i never use the lumbar. But you probably feel iffy since you know it should work and it doesn't. I'm picky too lol. Idk about the Z seats in a TL though.I think it would kill the flow of the interior? Sporty clashes with Classy..no?

I would never...I LOVE my TL seats! Thanks man, I agree...I can't go wrong and I don't have to pay shipping. If they ever remove the hookup though, I'll be shopping online again.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep EVERY thing on the car working. So lumbar, courtesy lights etc...I guess in some regards I should leave well enough alone. Who knows?

plastidip ftw. i was hesitant as well, but it was super easy.
10 minutes to get the bumper off, 5 minutes to pull the grille apart, 10 minutes to tape off news paper, 30 minutes per coat to get tacky and make one nice thick layer, 4 layers, 1.5 hours of dry time in the sun, reinstall.

since i did that for you, please vote for me to get some wheels

Veg...why did you go to the trouble?!?!? You can peel off the overspray anyway!

I would have sprayed it on the car. OR, let me tell you, you can take all 3 parts of the grill off with the bumper on.

Next time you have a minute, jack your car up and look up into the grill behind the bumper...you can access all 5 screws for the middle bar with a 90 degree screwdriver...and the bottom piece can be unclipped with a flathead.

What the heck are you guys talking about? I don't have FB at work...so I can't vote.

PS...I got you buddy, I should have known you knew what you were doing. My bad...

Flip...it was me...I had the tailgater switch installed...I had major issues that might have been coincidental but it was like the day after I installed that with the HID reverse bulbs...so I yanked that mod.

You know what though...my girl actually told me after I removed it, that she was glad I did. that's enough of a fk you to someone that might send people into a frenzy to do something stupid.

In a way, she's right. My ego will survive, just get over and let the ahole jeopardize their own life.

About not wanting to install it for safety reasons? I guess she's right...I'm hot headed to begin with and last thing I need on the road is a cockfight.
