Yup, will probably tackle it this next weekend or the following weekend. Currently trying to get my hands on the Hardrace rear arms so I can get my suspension finished and so I can stop wanting to punch myself every time I see my rear wheels.
Also, been borrowing my dad's tools to work on the car and just realized I should probably go spend the money on a good set for myself.
Also, I want my goddamn exhaust already.

Oh and rs143 can say he told me so. The TL doesn't get up on the ramps in the front even on stock suspension. Had to put ramps in the back and front on jackstands.
My apologies brother, needed to see it to believe it. Guess the TL is lower even stock than I thought.

Glad you finally got a little transmission maintenance done, pb. My TL on stock suspension will barely clear the ramps in the front. I have the smaller set of Rhino Ramps. But, when I say barely, I mean there's like an 1/8 of an inch clearance.

The TL fits on ramps. I used ramps without fail many times, AutoZone specials at that.
Also.. for oil and atf, don't remove the plug all the way. Leave it a 1/4 thread on so it flows out nice and easy past the bolt.
Also, you don't need to remove fusebox to reach atf fill plug. Just use a footlong extension and breaker bar to reach it, just don't get overzealous when popping it.

You don't need to remove the fuse box, I did it without, it's just a bitch to go and replace the ATF fill bolt if you don't have a magnetic extension which I didn't.
Also I just drove the TL and had a little fun with a few cars... Holy fuck I know it's only the 1x3 but I swear it's a world of difference, it's like I'm driving a completely different slushbox that doesn't feel so slow to shift. Cannot wait to complete a 3x3. I shouldn't even have waited until now, have I knew.

I just recently did my MT fluid. I used two 12" extensions and a torque wrench. I didnt have to remove the fuse box, just loosen it and move it to the side to acess the air box which I think was way harder than needed to be or intended for an air box.
Originally I planned to just use a suction gun to put the fluid in through the check hole til it ran out, since thats how I did my old manual trans. Then I wouldnt even have to mess with the air box or the fuse box or break open that top one at all.
But I didnt test the suction gun beforehand. Suction gun aint got no suck to it. So had to so it the longer way. Very dissapointing mid operation to find out it didnt work out the box.

I'll just leave this here.....
I just got back from taking the Stingray to the National Corvette Museum Bash. Finally got a Corsa Extreme Exhaust with the Double Helix X-pipe and Chrome tips.

Pretty sure you're going to love every damn moment of it - IRC, the Vettes have always been quiet from the factory, so this is probably like day and night for you, right?

All those mods and never touched the exhaust.. I just figured it was in there somewhere..
That's the first mod I consider. The TL had 3rd cat delete, magnaflow resonator + mid-muffler delete. Great sound. I need to figure out what to do with the Caddy.
Steven, you are a handsome man. You also have one wicked ride with the best catback money should buy. Love corsa exhausts.

Trans always feels smoother with new fluid right after because you sumped the TC. It will eventually mix out and get lazy again. Look for any shifting or operation irregularities in the next 100 miles or so. If she's okay, do the next 1x3. Repeat. The fact that the ATF was completely broken down is worrisome. How much metal was on the plug? Sometimes a trans can feel fucking awesome after a service, but it's just the calm before the storm.

Thanks guys-I'm glad you like the exhaust!
I thought I posted the video of me in it in the end. I'll double check. But let's put it this way.....as you know, I'm a disc jockey at a Classic Rock station here in Kansas City. I've been on the radio for 38 years.
I've always been told that I have a great face for radio.......

Unfortunately!
Sorry it was a pain PB...I figured I couldn't do ramps being low and aspec, glad to know it's just the bumper clearance for ramps.
Congratulations, Steven! Sounds really mean...I never spent the money on exhaust before either...figured for 1000 bucks or more for 7hp, money was better spent elsewhere. What I hadn't considered was how much more enjoyment I got with every shift/downshift while driving. Exhaust note is probably 3 in importance with enjoying the drive. Speed, Handling, Sound.
I got lucky, I got away with just doing the muffler 1/2 bypass known as the UK mod on and a high flow cat for the S...sounds
My Mom's hs buddy owns some subsidiary station of clearchannel...he heard me talk at some event and told me I needed to use my voice (although I understood my mouth :pervert) to make money. Did a few commercials...made a couple bucks.
