My Accord was also modded to the gills power-wise, which I didn't do to the TL so the comparison might not be valid, but that being said, I thought the extra power the TL-s had stock would make up for the lack of mods.
Late to the party on this....but I'm not sure if I got this right. You want to sell your 6MT Type S potentially for a TSX Waggy because the S didn't meet your expectations in terms of handling and some mechanical issues?

I may be biased here...but would fixing the issues with your TL then modding it be a possible solution?

That's exactly it, Franch. Suggestion from everybody is keep the 6MT TL-S, fix it, profit.

If I'm ever to sell my KBP 6MT, it would never be for an Accord or a TSX Waggy - my opinion at least. I personally don't need the utility a wagon offers, so maybe pbook's use for a wagon would lead him that way. But still

That Cavalier Waggy with the 3.1 though....

Hey I'm jealous, wish I could afford a KBP 6MT TL-S... heck I wish I could even see one. They're rare as eff here. I wouldn't trade it for a TSX wagon either, obviously. I wouldn't even trade my 04 TL for a TSX...

Unless Vagon...I'd only consider a small SUV or a hatch. If you really look at the space in the wagon, and remove the new jdmyo fad of loving them...they aren't versatile enough to justify their ugly looks.

I'm purely being lazy by saying I don't want to track down the issues with the TL. I really don't think the previous single owner did me any favors with this car.

With that said, I drove an Accord sport 6 speed and I like it, so I'm looking at that now, too.

I mean hell, you guys know I used to hang around the problems forum and help people fix shit. It's easy to tell people where to look for things and what to do, but my issues have me stumped.

Especially the laggy acceleration. I've changed everything I can think of and still nothing. Good compression (great actually), no leakdown in the cylinders, no leaks of any fluids, changed all the appropriate sensors, etc. Must just be the heat soak like people have talked about.

It's got me stumped to the point of wanting to dump the car (obviously).

Heat soak everyday though? In the summer with 90+ weather maybe, but in Spring or Fall you shouldn't really experience it.

Also, I have two small(er) dogs now, and them in the back of the TL just doesn't seem right, and its a PITA. So that's the main reason I'm looking for a wagon.

Yes, I experience it off and on. Mostly during warm days, though. This winter it was pretty good, but it sometimes still fell flat on its face.

Well yeah, something definitely isn't right. Spark plugs all good?

Yeah, spark plugs are great. Less than 10k miles on them. Pulled them two weeks ago and they look perfect.

Changed APP, IAT, Knock sensor just the other day. Changed all O2 sensors. Cleaned the throttle body and upper intake manifold.

The only thing I haven't changed is the crank sensor, and I'm still of the thinking if that goes bad (or is going bad) it will throw a code.

Gotcha - sorry you can't seem to isolate and solve that issue. Hopefully whatever ride you choose next meets your needs

Are you using premium fuel?

Haha I think Justn tried a throwback thread a few years ago where we posted up pics. I don't have any pics to post here but here's the run down in order:

1993 VW Passat VR6 5MT - Black on Charcoal/Confetti interior
1991 Honda Accord LX 5mt - Misc colors on Tan interior
2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S 6MT - Precision Gray/Charcoal

I think pb has a colorful history, non?

Also I decided that I'm going to be a bit of a guinea pig and get a set of Hardrace arms from cfv22 (his leftover set) and see how much they tighten up my rear handling-wise. I figured since I need a camber kit and new toe arms, might as well go all out with an upgrade

Why do you need a camber kit?

And what are these arms you speak of? I'm assuming they just have stiffer bushings in them, yes? That will firm up the ride a bit, but won't change body roll and shit. Not sure you really want firm bushings on the TL either...

Well I'm planning something a lot more aggressive in the rear in the future, so it certainly won't hurt - I'm also currently sitting at -3 naturally in the back and I'd like to get that to -2

EDIT: they're a combination of stiffer bushings and the same spherical bearings that the TL uses on the oem arms.

EDIT2: The body roll is 95% gone seeing as its pretty low with the progress bar

wtf happened to TSX?! It's a sign of the apocalypse, TSX forum disappeared, TL-S owner wants to switch to a TSX...

In no particular order, cars I've "flipped" but made no money from and that are worth mentioning:
350Z (shit car, felt so slow)
Legacy GT-B wagon (from a friend to me, to another mutual friend, that hoe, good)
300ZX non turbo (good and I see why people expect the 350Z to be good)
E36 328i (good)

The best was still the Legacy. That's like the most grampa car and it looks like a vertically challenged minivan and you could beat 98% of the people on the street just cause they'd take you as a joke. I thought of a Forester XT after this just for shit and giggle but I didn't end up doing it.

Cars not really worth mentioning:
Volks Jetta don't remember year, anyway was freaking backwards in that car
Mazda Protege 01
Accord 98
Civic 97

Yep, always. It feels like a knock issue (like the car is pulling time), but there are no vac leaks or anything and the knock sensor is brand new and there are no codes and no noises coming from the motor.

Sounds like you're in a slump and the TSX Wagon is just an "IDGAF fuck it" knee-jerk reaction.

I think you'll be much happier if you finally solve the mystery/problem than to jump ship. In the short run, it'll feel great to be in a "new" car but you don't think they have their own fair share of problems?

I'd take another stab or let a professional take a look at it before jumping ship, you'll come back and thank us

Plus have you seen the TSX subforum...

Shit you had a 300ZX? Ugh would kill for the twin turbo one. I love the Fairlady Z, one of my favorite Nissans next to the S15 front conversion 240
