Dude...the newer ones...no effing thanks. I actually didn't MIND the last gen hatch over the last few years and would have to go back to my college days in 2003-04 for the last ones I thought looked cool with the gold bbs.

One of the most fun I've ever had was in the 2001 Scubie Impreza WRX...I test-drove it back in 2001 when I was shopping for my first car (ended up in the CL-S). It was just a great fun and the salesguy let us take it on a gravel road and well, whoop it up.
Very memorable. Ultimately though, I wanted some refinement instead of a car I knew I would drive like I stole it and so, ended up in the Acura instead. But, man...the Impreza was a riot.

Hey if any of you folks can chime in on a toe arm / camber arm dilemna, I posted a thread in Tires Wheels and Suspension. Didn't want to clutter up Ramblings (more than I already have )
Kind of want to figure out what I'm going to do today so I can order whatever it is I need.

What a large penis you have Maj.

So me thinks I'm going to go with aftermarket arms instead of OEM. Honestly would rather spend the money on something that won't seize all over again. Maybe I'll get SPC upper arms down the line for the full range of camber adjustment. Honestly doing the Hardrace arms falls into my "suspension and brakes first, power later" philosophy.

At least my toe is fixed. Old tires got chewed up like crazy.

The problem im having miz is my toe adjustment bolts are seized and I need new arms. I just have a dilemma in terms of what route I want to take to solve the problem
Neither option is very cost effective but I'm scared that if I go OEM arms they'll just seize again because of the design and I'll be back to square 1.

ATF drain and fill tomorrow! I'm stupidly excited. I like working on the car for maintenance, not so much for a destroyed lug nut. $180 of Red Line ATF still hurts though.
Going with Red Line D4 FYI. Don't feel like fucking around with D4 + Type F and having slushbox issues in the cold. As I previously said, anything will be better than what's currently in. Next I'll have to do the switches and filter. =)

Consensus is with or without a Miata you're still our favorite "curious" heterosexual.
Did my 1x3 today. Took longer to jack the stupid car in wavy parking lot than anything else.
Cliffnotes for future me:
-Car should be jacked as high as possible, I cut the tip of my nose while worming under the car
-Jacking a car on fucking parking lot asphalt is still annoying. If you access to a garage or a lift, do it. Makes it a 15 minutes job instead of 1+hr
-The ATF SPLASHES FUCKING EVERYWHERE. It was like a 40 year old virgin first time when I removed the drain bolt except it was brown instead of the expected red (WTFFF)
-Remove the fuse box to get to the ATF fill hole. It's stupid annoying removing the ATF fill bolt but it's twice as stupid annoying putting it back there if you don't. I didn't and I scorched myself a few times on the coolant coming out of the TB snaking my arm
-Stop inhaling the Red Line fluid, it's probably not good, you fucking weirdo

Well I'm happy that you actually managed to get around to it. Fluid being brown = not a surprise. And the DIY for the ATF change says right off the bat, MOVE THE FUSE BOX OR ELSE lol. Does the fluid smell good at least?

I haven't drove the car yet, I don't expect any leaks though, the drain bolt washer wasn't in a bad shape at all. It really scares me to think for how long this ATF might have been in the tranny (since car was built??). Didn't take a picture of the drain bolt but useless to say it was coated in mini metal particles that makes me believe it's been there since the car origin...
If you're going to tackle it, I was under the impression the drain bolt was 1/2" drive but it's actually 3/4". All I had was a puny ratchet and it was somewhat difficult to break the bolt loose, used another ratchet handle to pry the tiny ratchet and break the bolt loose. YMMV. Might be easier to remove the wheel, I thought it was behind the front axle, it's actually slightly in front of it.
For the fill bolt, 17mm on a 12" at least breaker bar + ~12" of extensions to get to it.
