Yeah, look her up. Her technique and artistry has been said to be generational...critics say she will go down as an all-time great at the rate she's developing.

But, the slapstick part is what she wears to her concerts/recitals...

And well, she's not hard on the eyes at all for a tiny girl...

clearing them is great and all but people seem to forget the importance of sealing them PROPERLY after the fact (or do a poor job of doing so, myself included). It just accelerated the yellowing thereafter...

by wetsanding you're taking off what's left of the

I've done crystal view...BS, it comes back in a few months
I've done 50/50 Mineral Spar combo...within a year it turns yellowish, but still clear lens...okay on a 1997 F150 where it still looks better than total shiet...but not up against 04 Black TL.
I've bought the 10ML of Optiseal...it seemed to work pretty well...bonded to the plastic, but no way will that last forever.
JNC uses a product that is cured with UV light and even HE tells you to add some clear film.

One thing I will say is the Jeremy I bought my S2000 from had the headlights restored and professionally cleared...and they look like factory UV sealed headlights. Let's hope it lasts.

I also add this to our headlights every time I wash the cars...
I put it on the headlights...then do tire shine and within a few minutes it kinda bubbles up and is bonded...I think of it as sunscreen

Agree with you guys. Restored headlights before, if you don't seal the yellowing is going to come back. Bought the Sylvania kit which I've used before and it comes with a sealant. If you apply enough it lasts 1.5 to 2 years without any work. They also offer you a lifetime warranty which technically means they'll refund you your money if it becomes yellow or hazy again. I wasn't able to use it last time as I sold the car.

I've seen you recommend that bluemagic stuff Jeremy and I might pick it up at some point if I get the chance. Lots of spending lately, Anil has some maintenance items coming my way and I just went to the optometrist during lunch time to get some lenses. Chaching!

Edit: For the record, my driver side lens is quite yellow and the passenger side is starting to yellow, so I think we can assume the factory coating is pretty much gone now. Sure sun makes them yellow, but snow, sand and salt don't help either I bet. *shakes fist*

thanks for the suggestion J! gonna get that to add to my arsenal!

:pb:, the lifetime warranty is a joke. kit are usually less than 10 bucks around here so they're going to refund me 10 bucks when (not if) it yellows again? I spent 4 hours doing the damn things I'll still buy them, but not even consider the warranty, and buy extra sealant to make sure it's done right.. (or just freaking buy new headlights :P)

well the sun = UV. but the snow sand salt properly physically degrades the plastic a la sandblasting

Yeah, the warranty is not to be taken as "it won't yellow" but more as "here's your money back".
I don't think anything can save the headlights once the factory UV protection is gone. It'll come back, the rate is just what changes.

The TL headlights are expensive though. Some entry level cars have cheaper headlights which makes it the sort of thing where you can just spend money and forget about it. The TL... not so much.

As you said I think winter is good at scratching/sandblasting the shit out of them, only to get raped by the 2 days of summer we get after.

Q:

I have one jar of 56 pickles.
There are 11 new cucumbers introduced to the jar.
I leave Justin in room with said pickles for 7 minutes.
How many pickles are left in the jar after 420 seconds?

A: Zero

I'm not sure if this was intended, but that math behind this is spot on.

But, if you argue with me too much, the 34.50 will turn to 50.

Why? Because.

That's good stuff. I really like a lot of blue magic's products. If you haven't used their carpet stain remover, you're missing out. Shit is magic. I think I made a thread or post years ago. Not sure who was listening, but it's my go to stain remover.

Regarding headlights.. restore them however you like, then do film.

Justn got it wrong.

6^2 / 2(3) + 4

Bracket 3
6^2 / 2*3 + 4

Exponent 6^2 = 36
36 / 2*3 + 4

Division 36 / 2 = 18
18*3 + 4

Multiplication 18*3 = 54
54 +4

I'm sure you can do the addition yourself.

I'm slapping the Lamin-X I bought on my restored headlights... once it's done. Downside: If you open the headlights for mods well... bye bye film.
