I've done spare ribs in the slow cooker. If I do cook ribs, I use the grill as a smoker, briquettes with soaked pieces of cedar and oak on the grill. It comes out good.. both ways are edible, but not at all as fulfilling as one of the top BBQ joints here.

Memo to me...don't try to post anything in politics-type threads on a FRIDAY.

What a waste of an e-body-condom. These things aren't cheap you know!

Only comes in packs of 2.

Haha I hiiiiiighly doubt that. She's the typical clingy girlfriend and she's a very introverted person. When we went to visit her family for new years it was great seeing her meet with her old friends, you could see how happy she was in her eyes.

Maj...I have only done pulled pork in the slow cooker, never ribs. Need to consider buying a smoker now that we have the outdoor space for it.
Oh I know, don't worry. It's all good.

Think the landlord would like seeing a smoker on my balcony?

60 and sunny? That's crazy. We've had a pretty warm winter and almost no snow until Christmas so I shouldn't really complain.

Once she does, she'll open up tons of possibilities regarding jobs opportunities and she can either move in with me or we can move somewhere else than her tiny apartment and something less expensive than in the city.

Either way, as nice as everything sounds, there's other underlying issues regarding her personality such as her negativism that are hard for me to ignore and also I want kids and she doesn't... Last thing I want is for me to force someone to have kids just because she loves me or for my kids to end up with a disabused mom who didn't want them.
After the last few relationships I've been in, I personally would have uh... well, kudos to you for keepin' on. Some people are more willing to put up with various differences in mindset, and I'm of the "less so" mentality.

yeah PB, I generally don't get involved in other people's relationships, but you know where it's headed. Fixing, amending, compromising usually only works for the interim.

Shoot, I used to add 2 hours in my day to drive my ex to work so we could spend time together. What a sorry sap!

Then, see her see her old friends and her introverted self is happy.

Yeah Polo... you should tell her to make like a squirrel... and get eaten by an owl. The longer a relationship goes on, the harder it is to break - even if it is bad.

I'm a very patient person, I believe because I was the oldest siblings of 4 and I always took a fatherly role but at the same time I expect a lot from people as I am a perfectionist. This is something I need to learn to control per se, be able to let it go a bit more and not expect the same devotion to certain things from others.

For instance, I don't take sick days, like almost never ever. My girlfriend got a bit of a cough and she takes the day off (then I hear the complaints about how she's so broke ). I get stupidly snarky at her because of that, even though in the end it shouldn't bother me one bit. But it does.

I think it's the accumulation of little things that end up leading to a break up. Nothing is absolutely wrong with her or me, but like water erodes rock, the small things she does that annoy me and the small things I do that annoy her eventually dig deeper than you would have thought.

I never really got mad at my exes for leaving when they were the ones to leave because if I was in a relationship with them for X time, it wasn't only their fault. I think it's better to end things sometimes than drag them on for too long and eventually explode, nobody likes that.

Well, let's be honest...if we all broke it off with our SO's because of a lack of logic. We'd all be single.

I don't always agree with you, but I'm aware of the dangling guillotine. We don't expect the relationship to last an eternity, but things aren't anywhere near critical. She's still lovely.

I used to bus around 2 hours to go to work, then the same to come back home. I'll be honest and say I'm as unwilling as she is to give up the luxury of being close. There's is a middle point though, and that's where I'd like to meet with her.

The relationship isn't so bad, but it's declining. It was never an issue for me to end up a relationship but I believe it might be for her. She had some freaking weird exes.... the last one was a porn addict AKA have a whole room in the apartment for watching porn. She told me some weird ass stories... lol

Hey, if you get some cuddle time on the weekend and she lets you put the tip in.. why break a good thing. But also be aware that you might be excluding yourself from finding a more compatible partner, the one, if you believe in such things.
