Thanks Jamie...Yeah, I did have some fun with that thing. Oh well...onto the next car. S5

S5 is dirt cheap.. very poor resale, but good for those looking. I will say that for less coin, a 335 will put length on a S5.

oh yeah.. what's the word? I think the S5 is incredibly sexxay and one of the top interiors in the group. My brosef was going to buy one brand new a few years back.. decided to go to grad school instead with his 60k..

Audis in generally have very nice interiors. I never understood the hype until I sat in one... And then I understood, lol.
However, it's their reliability that turned me off them. I dunno what it is in the states, but here it's only 4 years/80000km warranty. Ideally, I wanted to buy like a 3 year old S4, but I was afraid of only having a year of warranty left. Lots of people also drive more then 20k kilometres per year.
Market dictates used car pricing and clearly people aren't interested in used Audis as much as other brands, otherwise they wouldn't drop in value so fast.
Also, I don't remember the performance numbers, but I believe the S5 wasnt anything all that crazy. That is, until you get it chipped... A chipped S4 can run side by side with an RS4. Pretty sure the s5 uses the same engine. The only issue is, if you chip it, there goes your warranty.

$60K seems better invested in school than spent on a car. One of my friend wanted to get one too. Settled for a i328 instead when he realized how expensive the S5 was and how stupid of a move it would be to do this shit in his 20ies straight out of school.

Ah.. I thought there was some specific reason to not go with the last gen S5. Yeah, it's a crap shoot. There are better and faster cars indeed but I think you get your moneys worth for it. A plug and play 335 with some mild mods is money. Plus there are so many out there.. parts galore.
My brosef got into the program without an advisor sponsoring him to do research so he had to start out OOP. After the first semester he got a research position, tuition paid and $$. Hopefully he didn't spend too much of his savings that first semester.. Whale's Vagina is $$ in general.

Well, if 4 doors is not the only option, I'd say a gently used Porsche Cayman or Boxster S would be just great for hooliganing it.

I've always loved the styling of the S4/S5 but can't get past the unreliability plus bang for your buck versus a BMW...
