Paid for trailer parking today. $876 for February-December. Oof.

Picking it up next Saturday, though. I've towed before, but with smaller trailers. I am ready to run over many things!

Gary, my guess is it has a different, more aggressive tune on 85.

Hey Everyone.
Yeah, I was VERY tempted to pick up the S5...2012, 20K miles IIRC...but $48K. It was my buddy's son that works as a sales manager at Dodge...he flew to H20 VW meet up in Maryland/DC area for a week...tossed me the keys. I declined because I don't like the liability and I don't want to know how much I would love another car over the one I have currently paid off. But he insisted so I took it...in my week, I only ragged it a handful of times, and washed it twice and waxed it once. Dropped it off at the dealership and his co-workers didn't recognize the car He was over it since he was about to take deliver on his 2014 911. Lease payments were 700 on the Audi, 1200 on the Porsche. Too rich for my blood...but man...interior felt solid and awesome, fast, handled great, sound system was great...just like what Majofo said.

I also remember hearing that you can cheaply make the S5 faster than the RS5. Hmmm...I do like 4 doors though...maybe S4.

Glad I did...if I'd gotten that instead of the S2000, I would have not been able to buy the house.

I'm thinking of finding a crap winter beater RWD for late night donuts and the like. Under $1500 (I meant the crap part hey!) as long as it drives. MT a plus but AT will do. Suggestions anyone?

I was thinking Lincoln LS or Crown Vic but ideally would like something that's not such a boat.

Faster? No.

Just as fast? Yes. But you will void your warranty.

Check out this cool video:

Thought about it, don't think I can find one cheap enough here. Cheapest is $2200+ for 155K miles for like a 328i.

I say v8 crown Vic. Not only do they run forever, they're built like tanks and likely can take some major abuse. Not too mention, they're so roomy!

Yeah crown vic and lincoln ls were my choice because 1) stupid cheap 2) rwd. Just wondering if there's something a bit smaller cheap enough to make me change my mind.
Lincoln LS are very cheap, have a near 50/50 weight distribution, 3.9L V8 or 3L V6. The V6 with super luck I can find a manual one... The V8 is AT only.

ALSO IT NEEDS PREMIUM GAS

Drove a crown vic more than once, the boat wobble is fun. They go for pennies for high'ish mileage ones.

What's your take anyway, poodle man? RWD or 4WD

A lot ice / snow? I'd stay away from a boatish RWD platform. My father is retired fed. I took his Crown Vic in donuts several times in the cul-de-sac. It's fun, but not fun, if you know what I mean.

I do. I got a shovel. It'll be used pretty much only for snowfalls. I'll make friends with a tow truck.

my pops is a retired CHP.
I remember him wanting to teach me how to drive in a chevy blazer.
went to an empty parking lot one saturday and I was getting the hang of it. I guess, he wanted to go to the store or something and we switched seats and I remember him saying something like..
"Check out this J-hook maneuver "

as he gassed it in reverse and swung the steering wheel, the top heavy blazer tipped over!

I remember hanging upside down being held in by my seat belt.

i only suggested the Vic because of it being RWD... really, there isn't anything else I can think of for >$2000 with a) RWD, and b) isn't a complete pile of shit.

Try maybe finding an old 180/240sx? They'll likely be riced out though or rusted to complete shit by now. Those always seem to have the drift tax associated with them. Another hope might be a first gen miata, but it's very limited on power and they seem to hold their value will too.

At least here, the only cars you find below 3k are absolute pieces of shit that will likely need 1k investment to keep them rolling. 3k seems to be the bottom line between something still driveable and something needing money to keep it on the road.

There's a few subbies after looking online. I don't need something that isn't beat, I need something that can do stupid donuts for under $2K (buy it for $2K, sell it for $2K sort of thing).

That absolutely ridiculous outback is tempting me. $850 for a ghetto rig like that, sounds great. With plates I can probably get out under $1K. As long as the custom fuel cell doesn't catch fire in the back.

You wanted to make a bit of money, I want to get something cheap. I believe these 2 ideas go against one another, but I appreciate.

Plus I probably would have ran the 'bird in summer, because that's a summer car haha.

I'm with Maj pb, go with an old Honda. If you really want RWD, Taco's suggestion on the 240 is a good idea if you can find one in decent condition. 240s are light weight and fun!

RWD or 4WD is an absolute necessity for stupid shit doing. I've had more than enough winter beater FWD cars and handbrake sessions and while they're fun that's not what I'm looking for. =)

There's no beat up 240s here. Cheapest right now is $7000, some souped up turbo one.
