My roommate just bought a C5 Corvette, and I might be buying a cheap '00 Firebird (LS1/automatic) tonight. He's keeping the 'Vette and I want to flip the 'Bird (haha, flipping the bird).

If I can get the 'bird for stupid cheap (under a grand), knowing it needs an all-round brake job and a new turn signal socket, maybe some cleaning up cosmetically... worth flipping? 158k miles.

Yeah... short story is it's a friend's car. He lives in DC and the car has tags from his home state on it, which means you can only park it on the street for a few months before they start ticketing you, or you register/inspect it in DC.

Well, it failed inspection, he's temporarily out of work (by choice) and doesn't really need a car or the hassles of storing it in DC as it is. So, he texted me yesterday asking if I knew anyone who'd want it for $500.

I tried telling him I'd help him fix it if he paid for parts, and he just doesn't want to deal with it. So... guess I'll buy it.

$4K might bit a bit high, but if you can get it for $1K and you're sure all it needs to be decent is a brake job I'd do it. Wrench all night long.

Netflix in Canada isn't so good, but using a proxy you get everything on the US one too for $8/mo. I don't even have cable, it's so not worth it for < 3 hours of TV a week.

It's a 2000 - I know the HP and Torque numbers are both above 300, and the 0-60 for manual vs. slushbox are very similar.

Should be a quick sell, I think. The 128i is being picked up tomorrow so at least I'll have space to park the Firechicken for a week or so. If the C5 'Vette that my roommate bought were to be added to the mix tonight, we'd be staring at nine cars in front of our house.
