Should be a quick sell, I think. The 128i is being picked up tomorrow so at least I'll have space to park the Firechicken for a week or so. If the C5 'Vette that my roommate bought were to be added to the mix tonight, we'd be staring at nine cars in front of our house.

It's a miracle the HOA president likes us.
Seriously at a price like this and without needing major repairs, I don't see why you shouldn't flip it. I can't see a 2000 Firebird selling for less than $2K unless it's obliterated.

Crabs, thanks for the link to that thread...hilarious!

I love how a guy pointed out the OP is a neighbor of mine and he was high! The Colorado/Weed jokes just kill me.

Since I've bought my TL 4 months ago, I started to notice my town has a TON of 3G TLs.

Probably just because I'm driving the car now that I'm noticing others who have the same car. But seriously, every day I'd see a handful at least.

Most likely why. There's only a handful here, I often encounter the 40 yrs old dude with the NBP and there's 2 other people at the gym with 3G TLs.

Haven't been on in a while. Just browsing some threads and saw Frosty banned?! Whats the quick and dirty on that or if anyone wanna link me a thread/post....I know there was a huge stink with him sending his TL to a well-known dude on the accord forums for a 5AT to 6MT swap that allegedly turned out very bad...

Then he tried to sell his TL with a failing 6MT without disclosing it, and the dude who was going to buy it came on here to expose Frosty as a fraud.

Yeah definitely a own-car bias. I noticed that with my first car as well or when I'm driving/riding inside my GF's car.

You don't know the own-car bias until you've had a rusty ~2000 silver Mazda Protege. That was a winter banger I had, holy crap there were many.

W. O. W.

Read the last couple hundred post in his own car thread and I wish that dude had a screenshot of the CL ad for the car.

You know the fact that it was first being listed to CL is somewhat shady to begin with. Why not use our esteemed for sale section? Looks like he got outed pretty good. It was quite telling after he basically dropped off the thread and never came back.

I was even planning to buy those amazing LEDs he keeps posting to all the forums everywhere, but looks like he's probably got some financial incentive/slush-pay for that business as well.

The kid's lucky that it looks like he's got quite well to do parents and probably supported his hobby, hopefully he learned his lesson and will be more honest in the future.

I saw a couple of posts later in December (after he was banned from here) on the driveaccord forums and someone mentioned the thread here and he simply replied with those are false allegation and opinions are opinions. And not much activity under the name "Frosty" on the driveaccord/V6P forums it seems like.

Probably needed a re-branding of his internet persona.

For a guy who is so visible and active in the TL community, especially after he himself got screwed, that was not the best way to handle the aftermath.

It's possible that he tried to hide the issue in his car from his parents (whom I mentioned may have been giving him financial support, and hence none to the wiser on their kid's nightmare car issue) and then just tried to make a quick buck by not disclosing the trans.

I was very confused when he went out and bought a brand new auto accord. lol

Anyway, this is why I love the forum life. Can't make this stuff up.

Wow, didn't realize what happened with Frosty. I found his build thread when I first joined here and thought he had a pretty tastefully-modded car. Oh well.

So I bought this Firebird last night. It drives really well and has an SLP Loudmouth exhaust, which is uh, loud.

The front driver's turn signal bulb only illuminates as a running light with the headlamps on, it doesn't blink. Bulbs are dual-filament and my friend replaced it several times, so theory is a bad socket. $30 to fix.

Needs front brake pads and rotors. $49 to replace.

Radio antenna snapped off in a carwash and thus, reception is bad. $15 to replace.

That's what is "broken" on it. Cosmetically, it has some paint missing near one foglight (primer is there but paint kinda peeled up, not a huge spot) and the dash is cracked. Tear on the driver's seat bolster. Needs an interior/engine bay detail badly.

The hood is mis-adjusted so one of the pop-up headlights doesn't pop up unless the hood is popped. I can re-adjust the hood and the headlight cover to fix that.

Otherwise... it's a fuckin' solid car. Once the parts show up, I'm going to see how fast I can flip it.

Project "Flip The Bird" begins... now!

So you get it for $500? If so that's a freaking steal haha.

Also I was thinking of retinting my windows darker AKA illegal here because it needs to let 70% of light pass through in front windows. Turns out I might not go illegal for my tint, ALL the cops in the city I work in were given light meters for christmas. They all carry one in the car and can ticket you right on the spot.
My boss was given a ticket going out of the work parking lot, his front tints let 67% of the light pass through.... And I thought I'd go somewhere like 40%....

$500 and I bought him Chipotle before I dropped him off at the Metro.

I'm on a call right now (but working from home, so I can meet the truck to send off the 128) so I'll run out and snap some pix in a little bit.
