Doesn't matter, a friend of mine did/does that. Buy cars that everybody has thus easy to sell, deal them aggressively, do brakes and clean it properly, sell for $1000 more. Repeat.

Hmmm...I guess one of my problems is I would buy cars I WANT and not ones that would turn a profit.

That was also my problem. Hence why I had like 10 cars but 0 profit.

You gotta be flipping Civics, Accords, Jettas, Cobalts, Mazda 3, tiny cars for the youngins.

I thought it was a WS6 too Jake. That's what the guy I work with had. Oh well, I think you'll still do well on a profit. The car looks like it's in great shape cosmetically other than needing a little paint touch up in those few places. Now, do a burn out and a couple of donuts for us!!

I was reading the thread about the guy owning his last Acura...talk about no accountability...and the guys that say they don't do shit for their cars and they look great, I'm afraid I'll have to call bullshit on that. I'd do it in the thread but it isn't worth the argument...

People that don't do anything to/for their cars are the ones you see standing by it on the side of the interstate talking on their cell phone looking depressed. I don't let my oil life get under 20%. And, keeping it clean is a must! I'm OCD about that! I need to purchase an electric buffer.

It's not so much about being on the side of the interstate and talking on their cellphone and looking depressed that is the issue, it's not accepting that you're the kind of person that doesn't invest neither the money or the time to keep your car clean. Then you go on a forum and rant about everything.

I'll be the first one to say the 3G TL has some issues, like every car does (big fucking surprise), which can mostly be mitigated with a bit of elbow grease. Now if you're not willing to do that or invest so someone else does it for you, you'll never be entirely satisfied with your car.

The only issues I can see being a bit out of control on the TL are the AT failures and the dash cracking. The rest is little things and normal wear and tear and I'm willing to do that sort of maintenance on any car.

In the state of Virginia, it's illegal to "title jump" like that.

That said, this car belonged to a friend and I told him exactly what I plan to do.

Note the Texas tags are still on it... I may have not put my signature on anything ownership-related. I plan on presenting the car as "selling for a friend, I know the minimum price he'll do." It worked when I sold my dad's car, I acted as the intermediary.

Except in this case, the intermediary keeps the profit.

You guys are right...I probably put less into my care than a lot of you guys, I keep it clean, wax it a couple times a year, treat the leather a couple times a year, and treat the dash and other plastic with 303. Oh yeah, change theoil when I'm supposed to...I've had very few issues with any car I've ever owned. They are mechanical and shit breaks sometimes.

I don't put excessive amounts of time on the car, I do however put just enough like you to make sure it stays clean.

My uncle didn't get charged with prostitution ring because escorts are free to do what they want and you're just offering security, the bunny can show you the ropes.
If you need to learn how to boost cars and sell them to the scrapyard so they get dismantled and sold overseas, the bunny can also show you that.

Long story short, perfect chain of events. Bought house with 2 car garage which meant wife's car would be outside...strike 1. Owns 2 cars driving 5 miles to work (read: frivolous)...strike 2. Chip-themachine offered me a very fair price for the car and said he'd fly down to give me a check and drive it back to Jersey...strike 3. Instead of saying let's spend it on skittles, or granite...Betty immediately agreed that we'd pay off the massive 401K loan I had taken out to put the 20% down on the house purchase...strike 4 and checkmate. See ya car...I can get another later.

Still very but I feel it was the right move.

Cliff's notes: I traded a car for a house.

I appreciate that information, Jake. I've been in a position TWICE where I've been with a friend or cousin at the dealer and watched them turn over a cleanable car (02 TL type S for $600 and 98 Maxima for $500) for next to nothing as a trade I could have matched. Betty didn't want me to get into it in the past because we were in the townhouse with 1 car garage and TL got it and then our last place wasn't permanent and the garage was full, again. Next opportunity, I'm doing it.

TSX is a cesspool of 9gag'rs and newfags.. if they were able to get multiple wieners in their mouth, it was from fellow TSX and TLX owners.
