The wheels are rather fugly seeing them in pictures does not help. But ya know, they might look good in a bright chrome finish.

If I do a Type S I'm going to see if I can get the base 07 rims, I don't want 18inch anyway

I mail-ordered the bulbs from a supplier I learned of here on this site. Check the 3G TL Garage sticky thread index or search the term "led" and you will find several sources. It was a simple and easy mod.

plus, its bout 2 break 100 pages

Yeah, well.........it would only be about 50 pages if you llamas would keep on topic and quit drifting off into discussions about other cars.

It's too complicated to sort into different aspects of the 2007.... and too time consuming.

There are a lot of people checking into this thread on a daily basis for breaking news. So, if you drift off-topic, expect your post to be gone. If you do it too many times...... you're going to get a nasty-gram from a mod.

I just the same date from AHMC headquarters in Torrance. It is October 16. Bummer. I thought it would be earlier.

9/1 Still the 07 TL Release Date?

We're still on for Friday right? Acura is still considering 9/1 the "official release" of the new TL. I'm guessing by Friday we'll see some kind of media splash and perhaps may even be able to 'build your own' on the acura site.

If I'm not mistaken, the Type-S also has 17s. Just uglier 17s.

The internet manager at an Acura dealership in TX told me that any Type S would have 18 inch wheels. The Base model would have 17 inch wheels.

Yeah it does, but they were talking about thoses in 18inch, they might show the car with the 17's or thoses wheels cuz they haven't picked anything yet, who knows, we might see no grey wheels at all. what I might do is order the current a-spec wheels in 17 cuz they do make them in that size, I've seen them at my dealer and put thoses on, then sell or make the trade with the ugly ones when I get the car. I have a few months to think about it. I may also buy this current TL and sell my Camry XLE V6 cuz I never drive it that often. the 2 TL's would be so cute together.

I like being a conspiracy theorist...

I say that Acura did a smart thing and leaked out the info and pics and are seeing what people's reactions are so that they can make changes prior to the "official" release. We'll know for sure that this is their tool if they don't sell the TypeS with those rims that nobody really likes.

Good move Acura...

I remember meeting a guy named Mike at the first Acura meet at the Block in Orange. He was pretty cool. I lost his card but I think he frequents this site. Mike, if you see this, I hope you've been passing the info on to your TL team and making some suggestions. PM me if you want anymore info if I can help.

This thread is crazy long. Half of it with no info and most only on the Type-S.

The Type-S with it's red dials and dark wheels? No way. And I don't care for the tailights having the clear bars in it in either model.

I'm so glad we didn't wait for the '07 and grabbed an '06. I thought the '07 would offer more changes/features.

No... and yes the bolt pattern is the same, in fact I have seen RSX wheels on a TL but there are no a-spec wheels for the RSX

But personally, new G35 here I come with with EXCELLENT aftermarket and REAL POTENTIAL besides anything else.
G35's are going 1.9 60 foot all the time on street tires eh?

Probably as long as it would take Acura to source out a production of a new wheel...unless you think they just have stockpiles of different kinds of Type-S wheels lying around...

Mark Your Calendar: Sept 1 Is A Big Day

Date: August 30, 2006 11:27
Submitted by: RyanDL
Source: unknown
Credibility Rating: Not Specified

September 1st is just around the corner and with that comes the lifting of quite a few pieces of embargoed information. Here's what you'll see here at the TOV in just a couple of days:

All-New 2007 Acura MDX
All-New 2007 Acura RDX
All-New 2007 Honda CR-V
MMC 2007 Acura TL
First-ever Civic Si Sedan
New Honda Element SC
For each of these models, expect to see full technical, feature, and specification details. Of course we'll have lots of photos as well.
Also, since we've already driven each of these new models, you'll be able to read the TOV's driving impressions our take on how they stack-up against previous iterations and the competition.

So mark your calendars and take the day off from work, because Sept. 1 is going to be a big day here at TOV!

Note that not all driving impressions will be available on Sept. 1st. It may take a few days for us to get them all posted.

interestingly acura does it again ,in releasing a sportier model near/at the end of a model cycle instead of upfront...my prediction is that sales of the top model are dissappointing like what happened with the '03 CL type S coming out with there 6mt. acura not realizing that some of those sluggish sales were because people that wanted a manny already bought autos because they couldnt or wouldnt wait to see if acura would realse what they wanted from day one ,and when acura finally realsed it they were already stuck with what they had...same thing may happen here

The bigger 3.5L engine? There has been no leaked information that would lead anyone to believe the awd configuration is an option for 2007. We can only hope.

If for some totally un-Honda-like reason the TL-S did have SH-AWD, I would probably get arrested for indecent exposure of genitalia due to the MAJOR wood I'd have!

But there is such a slim chance of that happening, I doubt I'll be going to jail any time soon.

Same here. If the Type S has more than what we have already seen, ie awd, then I'd probably trade in my 05. The Boston Globe article that was the first leak of information on the 07 type S, was pretty complete. It would be extremely hard for me to believe that they forgot to mention that the new TL has SH-AWD.

That's why the new model will continue to fall flat on it's face until the 09' redesign. Most consumers will spend their money on a 335i sedan, or a Infiniti G over the next couple of years. I don't understand what Acura was thinking with this 07' A biger engine and a few cosmetic bits aren't going to cut it no longer in this ultra competitive segment.

As slim as the possibility is, the leaking of a quite a bit of--but not all--information could have been part of a master plan by Honda. They publicize an absolute "media embargo," stating that no one can release info on the refreshed TL until Sept. 1st. Then several news sources "unexpectedly" leak what seems to be all the information on the '07 TL and TL-S, leading everyone to believe that's all there is to hear about them. Then, BOOM, Honda comes out on Sept 1st and says, "Oh yeah, the TL can now be had with SH-AWD." Everyone hearing the news has small orgasms on the spot, and all is right in the automtive world. I think Honda is that arrogant, and, honestly, I love 'em for it!

Definitely a possible scenario, but unfortunately, still unlikely. It would really be cool to be at the official release if that did happen.

ehh maybe, I will agree with you on the fact that Honda/Acura is arrogant!
