No manual wold be a bullet in the head in terms of performance respect, at least IMO.

It probably won't be on the Type S, it's going to be pretty fast already, there no manual option in the honda/acura line up when using the 3.5

Lexus recognizes the lack of a real MT as a "downfall" for the 06 IS350 but Acura is calling it an "upgrade" for the 07 TL-S?

I would like to get the upgraded navi like the TSX has with several hundred more voice commands (not that I've memorized the ones I have!) and I would like to have the RDS radio info that is almost standard these days.
A heads-up display option would be nice. Maybe the S-type will have that.
As an owner of a 2004 TL, I smile every year that they DON'T change the TL because it assures that my value will stay high. My car is two years old but only has 5,000 miles. I could flip it right now for a very low annual depreciation. Someone looking at a 2006 would sure consider an essentially identical car with low miles if they could save $4k or so.
I have people coming up to me asking if I want to sell it. Of course the Acura sales people also ask because 1) they have used car customers looking, and 2) they would like to sell me a new one.

If you want to verify that 2007 TLs are in full production, Google "Honda Marysville plant tours" and click on one of the links. That website will tell you "tour availability is determined by our model activity throughout the year." Call Honda at 888-291-8687, get to option 3 - plant tours, and it will tell you that Marysville tours are suspended indefinitely and a reopen date has not been determined.
Marysville is certainly not closed due to building a "new" Accord. Must be the 2007 TL. See you on the lot in September!

I have heard that the release date for the 2007 TL is OCTOBER 16TH.
Source: A Dallas Honda employee who works for their finance department. I did not hear this directly from him, but through a friend of his who also used to work for Honda. This same employee (the one who now works for Honda) apparently just bought a 2006 TL. I have no other details.
Take it for what it's worth.

Hey guys the autoweek article states:
"Both TL and TL Type-S offer Acura/ELS Surround premium sound system, Acura satellite-linked navigation that now ha real-time traffic."
So my interpretation is that the base version of both models without the "technology package" or whatever does NOT have the ELS surround sound...hmm...are they stepping backwards now?
IF this is the case, that would be weird. You dont have a car equipt standard with some stereo system and later offer it as an option...
I hope this is not the case!

What is the story with the A-Spec Package for the 2007? I don't think the front aero piece will fit the new 2007. The 2007 front bumper looks different than the 2006. Check out the lower grill areas. If this is the case then it's a show stopper for my TL purchase in a few months.

My opinion is that A-Spec was over priced anyway and did nothing for hp.

plus, its bout 2 break 100 pages

I stopped by a local Acura dealer this weekend and the salesman showed me a brochure for the new colors for the 2007 TL. The brochure mentions a Sports Edition, which I presume to be the Type-S. The brochure only was for colors and did not give specs. I noticed that the Type-S will have a two-tone option for the interior in Ebony/Silver.

I asked a salesman on Friday if he had any info for 07's yet and said he has not, but would keep me updated.

Three Wheelin'
This is a long thread, so I'm not sure if anyone has posted this link yet, but Autoweek has a pretty decent collection of photos for the '07 Type-S and the regular '07 TL. There are 25 photos, most are the Type-S with the last 5 or so being the regular TL:
Autoweek's photos of 2007 TL and TL Type-S
In my opinion, Acura tried too hard to differentiate the Type-S and as mentioned previously, it looks kinda rice. I like the subtle changes on the regular TL much better than the Type-S. The headrests with Type-S logos do rock though but the wheels and the taillights do not.

Agreed. The Type-S is FUGLY. Those wheels look like a cheap knock of a cross between C5 Z06 wheels and Ford GT wheels. They do not, at all, go with this car. The standard 2007 TL looks very refined and the wheels look 100x better than the Typc-S.

I keep going back and fourth with thoses grey wheels! I don't get it
