I like the new TL Type-S, but boy they could of done a little more like upgrade the TL's ELS system and added ventilated seats would of been nice. The new seats look comfy, and really how hard would it be to make em' ventilated ? Acura, could of bragged how they were reducing emissions since it's a scientific fact that people use less A/C when they have vehicles equiped with ventilated seats.

Type S Fully Loaded Price?

Just got my car and driver it says the following:

The Type-S comes fully loaded for about $39,000 (the base TL starts at about $31,000.)

I highly doubt the base TL is gonna be that cheap.....the 06 TL base was like 33,000, i don't think they would lower the price. Just my opinion.

$34,000 for '07 base TL + $3,000 upgrade to TL-S + $2,000 for navi = $39,000 for TL-S.

Sounds reasonable to me.

I don't know if I want to get the type-s for 39,000... Acura is shooting themselves in the foot if they price it that high.. nowadays people get an '06 with navi for 31k. i would consider getting type-s if it was 34 or 35k...

Actual purchase price and MSRP are 2 different things. All we can reference concerning the TL-S right now is MSRP, so it's unfair to mention actual purchase prices for '06 TL's.

Looking at the web site today, the only way to get a 6spd is to buy the Type-S. Looks like Acura going to be losing some sells. OK course some will pay 7K more to get it and what comes with it.

Im kind of dissapointed by the 3.7L v6. I thought it will be a class leading v6 but its not. The IS350 has a 3.5L and it produces more hp and torque with a smaller displacement. Acura should of use a DOHC engine for the 3.7L

Width of 07 TL

The 04 to 06 TL is 72.2 inches wide, but the TOV article lists the 07 TL and TL-S as being 75.4 inches wide. Could this be due to the new side mirrors? Are side mirrors included in vehicle width dimentions?

Better yet, bring some good driving gloves to hang on to the steering wheel with all that torque steer.

Review what you wrote and try again. The IS350 is not a luxury SUV the last time I checked.

Yup you're right but its still dissapointing. I expected more torque from the bigger displacement

07 TL-S on Motorweek

I just watched "Motorweek" on PBS this morning (9/2) and they had a short piece on the new TL-S in their "Carkeys" segment. Showed it in a nice blue color and spent most of the time accenting the differences on the S version from the standard. Check out PBS.org for the times when it might be viewing in your area.

I agree, heated seats and a moonroof are standard equipment on 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen TL's.

Maybe in his mind he saw a TL without heated seats a moonroof

Yeah that is disappointing since I'm sure I would have paid that much more just to get a manual.

And the extra weight over the front is probably not going to enhance the handling and balance.

Ditto. I'm very glad I got my '06 6MT when I did. $32K was the top of my budget so I definitely would not have bought an '07 TL-S.

I still can't believe they changed the interior theme to orange for the type S. That is one (not only) reason I stayed away from the Infiniti G. Unbelievable!

Man, where the hell do you find prices like 31k?? I'm trying to find a deal on a TL and all the dealers in my area are giving me 32,379 which is just invoice. Anyone can walk into a dealer and pull off invoice pricing, its when they cut into their dealer holdback is when you get a really good deal. I really want an 06 TL but my budget is just outta range.
