Three Wheelin'
The 2nd gen. mmc had these exterior changes
-fenders
-bumpers
-hood
-head/tail lights cleared the amber
-nice rims (non painted stuff)
3rd gen
-shitty paint color (might as well call it the TL SI)
-fog lights that are too large and easy to apply in new car
-extra large side mirror blinkers
-headlight housing
-slightly new front bumper
-rims that are ......?
overall the 3rd gen looks like its has too much going on in the front downgrading the look of the car where else the 2nd gen mmc uplifted the vechicle to a more luxury car that performs.

Side turn signals may be the only way some neighboring drivers could see your intentions to turn or change lanes on today's heavily congeasted roads. That's why I rewired my sidemarkers to blink with the turn signals.

Thanks invincible569 for posting the info.
Most of changes are typical for Honda/Acura mid-life updates. Soft cosmetic changes and a optional performance model with higher engine output.
Personally, I like the DRL, new mirrors and steering wheel/instrument cluster, the wheels looks similar to the C5 Corvette Z06. The blue is quite ummm..... blue.

Some cars don't even have separate side turn-signal markers, let alone mirror blinkers...these cars incorporate turn markers into the headlamp units at the corners, so they act as both a signal from the front and the side (think 2nd gen CL/CL-S). Yes, it's necessary to have side turn signal indicators SOMEWHERE on the car, whther it be as a separate light on the side of the bumper or incorporated with the heaadlight unit...but spending money in order to put them into the mirrors isn't necessary for safety and therefore not a safety issue.

Thanks! Glad I was able to be welcomed!
I must have a life because I do other things (LIKE WORK, for starters) rather than hang out on this website all of the time. I love my car, but...............
And for your info: That article was from two freaking days ago (8/5/06)! LOL.

These are the first new pics I've seen so far. Interesting. Fog lights, mirror turn signals, 3 spoke steering wheel, new sporty rims, old fog light replaced with daytime running lights? I guess theres a rear lip as well...
...not saying it doesnt look nice, but I'm kinda glad I've got mine
I'd love to see more pics of the rims though. I bet we can stick em on ours...

Steering doesn't impress me much. For Canadian TL, we already get DRL in that spot plus my city don't have fog at all. I need to see the back though.
I should go do chrome DIY and mesh grill.

1) Am I missing something, or doesn't anyone care about the lack of changes to the center console? Why is there still a cassette player? (The dealer will tell you it's there for books on tape. Spin.) Forget DVD Audio (can you still buy these anymore?), CD changers (who needs the hassle or future mechanical problems), and iPod interfaces (I love Apple, but they could change the iPod interface anytime they please). This car deserves a built-in music server with USB and WiFi access to download tunes and full-screen navigation. At least replace the cassette with a PC Card slot to access music on a SD, CF, or MS cards like the new Civics. How about Dolby PL II for 5.1 surround? What happened to Acura's leading edge technology?
2) Keyless start? Where is it? Come on Acura, you can do better.
3) I was never a big fan of the current TL front-end and was hoping they would get rid of the chrome strip on the hood and reduce the height of the "Super Hero" grill. The minor changes only made things worse. Any more chrome and it will start to look like your Dad's Oldsmobile.
4) The mirrors have integrated turn signals (ok, that’s a nice addition I guess), but they look like they are the same shape and size as the ’06 mirrors. Not very sporty in my opinion.
5) What's up with the desire for more HP? All you power freaks should calm down and go buy a Corvette. (Oooh, that was mean.) I would rather have 30+ MPG on regular fuel. For those who say "if you can afford the car, you can afford the gas", I say "that's why I can afford the car, because I don't like to waste the cash".
Not impressed with the '07 changes at all. Now after this long wait (and reading this forum forever), I need to consider other options.

I will definitely be waiting for the '08 Accord. Someone said it will be a 3.5 liter? An all-new V-6 Accord with leather with a few mods might just be the ticket for me. Eibach pro-kit, my own killer-looking 18+" wheels, maybe an intake/quiet performance exhaust, maybe a few other smog-legal tweaks and I'll be looking to find the '07 TLs in my review mirror. Buh-bye. Out.

wow the 07 acura tl type s is pretty ugly
TL is actually pretty UGLY with the fog like and also quar muffer? that's too much ? 2 nice one is good enough ? look at the M35/45 and MAxima their muffer is a joke 4 doesn;t mean anything ..... look at BENZ E55 AMG those quar muffer is NICE. TL with more power doesn;t mean anything the lil cahnge just makes the car worst the side mirror lights destoryed the clean look for the TL and also the fog light destoryed it too. 3.5 L .......... more gas ....... just like the camry and ES350 . this TYPE S is disappointing. the only nice part might be the steering wheel

Now it comes down to G35 or Type-S for me
If G35 can improve on:
1) gas mileage
18/25 is NOT acceptable
2) their new navi system
Ones in M's and new FX's
I would go with Infiniti, otherwise Type-S.

This is from CAR n Driver online. The picture looks like the 2006 model. Not a lot of info and they reference the Boston Globe article.
[I]News: Acura brings TL Type-S back for 2007
After a three-year hiatus, the TL Type-S is back with even more power.
BY JARED GALL
August 2006
For 2007, the Acura TL line will sprout a Type-S boasting a more powerful engine and a sport-tuned suspension. According to The Boston Globe, power output grows to 286, a gain of 28 hp, and torque rises 23 lb-ft. to 256. Previously, Acura offered a TL A-spec handling and appearance package, although it offered no bump in power. While the A-spec was a dealer-installed kit, the Type-S is a factory-produced regular model.
Of course, a sportier car has always entailed more than under-hood muscle to Acura, and this latest Type-S is no different. Suspension firms up all around and gets capped with Type-S specific wheels. Astute observers will notice the Type-S wears a mesh grille, a subtle spoiler, and quadruple exhaust outlets. Others will be clued in by the more obvious Type-S badging.
Inside, the Type-S invites shenanigans with sporty bucket seats boasting hearty bolstering, stainless steel pedals, and carbon fiber trim. A five-speed automatic will be standard on the Type-S. Thankfully, a six-speed manual also will be available. Pricing on the new Type-S should begin around $39,000.
