2007+ MERGED THREAD, SPECS ARE NOW ON PAGE 1, POST #1

With the right paint color combined with good photography the car will look great. I don't think blue was a good choice as it somehow magically makes the TL look a little like a renta-car. Silver, black, red, white anything but that blue. I think the original wheels on the 3rd generation are better as well. I'm not crazy about the metal pedal either, as it reminds me of a 70's car or something. I like the fog lights.
28HP increase doesn't seem like much to me, but the S gets a 10% increase in torque. I wonder if that will improve the 0-60 by 1 second. This happened when the the 04 came out and it only had a 7.5% increase in torque over the 03 base model. So that's something to look forward to in the type-S. I don't care to race people. I just like the whoosh feeling I get when I pull out into traffic sometimes. It's not that important, but kind of nice.
thanks to invincible569 for posting the pics!!

The rims are horrible looking. The fog lights look out of place. What I assume are the daytime running lights look strange as well. I also don't like that shade of blue. I hope those photos show the updated car at its worst...

Almost perfect
I don't love the wheels, but I don't think they're horrible. The only things I want that this car doesn't have are:
-Keyless start
-MP3 Aux input (maybe it has this, but I haven't confirmed)
-AWD
I'm really happy that the S package gives it some more HP and torque and I love the option to use paddle shifters.

LOL invincible569, you are raping and taking apart those few pictures!! Anyway thanks for the clarifications on the pics on pg 65.
As for the TL, everything looks good except those wheels, what has Acura done?!?!

I figure it'll look better in person than in these pix, but I have to say I'm really not impressed. Some new car changes really grab you and others ... well ...

Yeah, I think the car looks bad, but it is the type-s. The non-s might look exactly the same as the 06. I think it would have been fantastic if they made the A-spec body kit the standard and left it at that.

Best 2006 w/nav deal??
I got quoted today $33000 for a 2006 w/nav at a dealer in NJ. He showed me its $3000 off the sticker. It sounds like a great deal, but are you saying it can be had for 31,500?
Anyone else have awesome offers as of recent?
Also wanted to know what people thought about this car in SNOW? I read in Consumers Reports that the 2 cons were wide turning radius (which I agree) and bad in snow. My old 93 Celica GTS was horrible in snow even though it was front drive. Got stuck in twice. Only go there over winter to ski. Should I consider the RDX more. That will cost 37k

Looks Fine
I think the car looks fine! Everyone assumed there would be minor exterior changes, and that's what we got. But I will agree that the fog lights don't look too hot. As a matter of fact, they look exactly like the fog lights that I had installed on my last two Accords ('00 and '03). As far as the wheels go, who cares if they're not so hot? Not too many people keep the stock wheels on their rides anyway, at least not younger car owners. What car company do you know that has wheels worth keeping? And Is it me, or is there another button on the center spoke of the steering wheel? I was considering getting the carbon fiber steering wheel for my '05 w/Navi, but hopefully one will be released for the '07 because I'm probably going to trade my '05 if the new "un-announced" changes are what I consider "worth it".

Everything looks fine to me except the foglights and the chrome strip on the front bumper. The foglights look more like an add-on accessory instead of an integrated look. The chrome strip looks kinda cheesy and makes the front end of the car look less aggressive, almost sorta "Camryish." I am assuming that the tailights on the Chinese TL will be identical to the '07 TL. Not really feeling the tailights if that is the case because they look overdone or like cheap Altezza lights to me. I'd rather have them clear out the top portion of the tailights as they did for the '02 3.2TL MMC. Personally, the only things that I would want from the '07 TL for the '04-'06 TL are the side view mirror blinkers and the revised interior amenities. My

so i guess it pretty much was like the asian version of the TL. can't say i'm too thrilled about it either...
the front end looks too much like the TSX, and to be perfectly honest, i'd hate to see the rear end if it has clear tails. is it just me or does anyone else not like the rims, too??
who knows...maybe it'll be a different story if i see it in person...like info on this thread, we'll just have to wait and see

If that is the homologated starting price for the GTR is $50k then (IMHO) it is unlikely there will be any saleable models at that price. My speculation is that the price would probably be closer to the $60k mark.
Back on topic, this would be the TL model that could lure me away from from getting the G35S.

Someone made the comment that the '07 TL front looks like the TSX, but there really isn't a change to the front from except for the fog lights and the 2 chrome strips, so what the hell are you seeing that I am not? The TL has always looked like the TSX from the front, so why are people noticing it now that the TL has a re-fresh?
#1709
If the fog lights are like other Honda foglights, i will pass on them '07 TL. Most of people hate them becasue they are built of glass and tend to break/crack and they are expensive to replace. At least for current model they are part of headlamp and that makes them almost bullet proof and unique.

Tl vs Tsx
They have always looked similar from the front but the quickest way I could always tell them apart was whether or not they had side mirror blinkers. Well, guess now I will have to go w/ whether or not the grill has shiney chrome ....

Does this mean there will not be a 6 speed manual option on the Type-S?

If Royal Ford didn't read all the warnings stamped in red ink on the Acura literature about the September 1 press embago, he may not have read the paragraph about that, either.
Since the AMG Benzes and the M5 are clutchless, this would be a very trendy move for Acura.
