I can't believe it took the post office 3 weeks to deliver my first check. I sent it out 3/1 and it was received 3/19. Might as well use the pony express! Brian, since you have both of my checks, can you destroy one of them, preferably the first one. Thanks

I did a little Excel spreadsheet of who was signed up as a definite yes on the group buy list as of 03/01/2004 (last time the list was posted I think) versus who actually paid. Here's the people who were listed but deposits haven't been received for them yet:

1. 3.2 Type-S 03
2. AzzKiker23
3. Flint
4. jgscott
5. kHmER Co
6. mc222
7. MRIGuru
8. power3dfx
9. Typer

I apologize if I made a mistake, just eyeballed it real quick when making the list. I left Jonesi out too since he said his was in the mail already

Anyway, if we get the remaining definite yes's to mail in their deposits (or if we receive them) we should hit 38 deposits! If we get two more then I think that would drop our price to $632 or so (20% discount on 40 units right?).

Don't know if anyone wants to PM/bug these guys to get their deposits mailed in, but I thought I'd put the list out so we can see who is left and how many potential buyers we have.

Oh I thought I read somewhere in the thread that if we got 40 it'd be 20% off ... Ah well, $675 is still a lot better than what they'd charge normally. And we're getting the PnP harness! No complaints here

Brian, correct me if i'm wrong.
Matt is 100% correct, $675 is the lowest they will go. I just made it 40 instead of 35 cause Jack got the quotes back from their "plug" manufacture, and he wanted my opinion on how much to make, so I told him 40 was a good number.

So people who can't get in on it now, can still have a change to get it with the PnP harness later.

Why would it be great?? You really need a dyno plot to tell you this. Based on Doug's old dyno you would be hurt if you tried to hold the gear longer, just IMO.

this aint me but even if it were the torque curve falls off too fast to benefite from another 500 turns?

one last...my reason for this request was/is because if you dont nail the shift just right you fall just out of vtec...im going by the noise the engine makes at WOT...also notice a dip in power right at vtec ...so maybe it would be better instead to lower the vtec engagement point 500?

Even that curve appears that you would be better off shifting at the current redline. Look at the meat of the torque; you always accelerate fastest for a given gear at the peak torque. For that plot you want to be between 5k and 6k revs as that is where you will have the best acceleration.

This is based on the currently available data. If something changes that allows you to make torque longer. Then ceratinly, more revs would be needed.

But anyway, about raising the rev limiter and could it be done, yes and no. They could clamp the input reference signals just before the fuel cut off to trick the ECU into thinking it was just shy of the redline. But you would not know the revs yourself as your tach would also be stopped.

Additionally, they would need to determine how to change the MAP signal to get the additional fuel needed that the ECU would have added on its own with increased revs. This requires even more tuning which would not be as simpple.

I suspect they could do this but not for gerenal use. If someone wanted to pay them and supply their car, they could program it this way for them. But as mentioned and IMO, it just is not needed on this engine yet.
