I've been working some late hours this week, but I'll try to schedule a time with this Friday for the drop off.

hey, i got a question will the unichip raise or eliminate the rev and speed limiters? And also does it lower the vtec engagment? or should i leave my vafc in? One more question not about the uni chip, what would make my computer at home not want to log on to this site? but here at work i have no problems!

no, it doesn't change any of that.
most of the knowledgable people have said that our vtec engagemant is set up perfectly from the factory.
who the hell wants to go faster than 150 mph? i certainly don't.
raising the rev limiter is the only feature i would be interested in. maybe Brian can shed some more light on the subject tomorrow.

The torque is dropping off before redline. This would only allow it to drop off further. You are better off leaving it where it is at.

my car stays in vtec if you shift at red line, so i guess raising the limiter wouldn't do much. i just don't want to get to the point where i have to shift in to 4th before the finish line. do you think raising it up to 7300 would be a bad idea steve?

7300 would be close to the limit of where you might be accelerating slower than going up a gear. It does vary between the 2/3 and 3/4 shifts though.
Looking at the below plot you can see how quickly torque is dropping off especially after 6500 RPM. Cary this down the ever decreasing slop and I would suspect that at about 7500 the torque would be down to about 125, maybe lower. At about 7300 it may be down to 135 lb/ft.
Being that the 2/3 shift isn't too significant of a gear change you would be better of shifting to 3rd at redline as you will be making more power at 5k revs. The 3/4 shift is different as it is more significant of a gear change. But even so you would probably be making the same or a little more power by dropping to 5k revs.

This is assuming that other changes are not made which may assist to end torque production. If you could get the car to continue making torque then the answer is obvious.

i see what you're saying. will the tq. roll off as much when i'm spraying n2o? the decrease doesn't look as bad on yours and cl6spd03 SC dynos.

Nitrous would most likely help maintain the torque. That is something I would really like to see as it still requires the engine to pull in the air.
With forced induction it does generally help since there is an external method of forcing in the air. The increased pressure lowers flow velocities which allows the engine to flow better at the top end in many cases. What I am really curious about is the new manifold seems to flow better at the top end. If so I may be looking at little to no roll off. That is when more revs would certainly be welcome.
But that is a discussion for a different thread.

I think I'm going to have to have my name taken off that list. I've run in to some financial difficulties and dont think I can afford to be dropping $600-$700 anytime soon.

nothing can save us from 4th gear, db.
SFLA told me that even when he runs 13.5 he stays in 3rd through the traps. so that's good.

I don't know. I wasn't really involved in that piece of things concerning the S/C application. As far as just 6speed n/a's I have not come across one yet, nor did anyone offer. :o
So I guess the status for both is still the same.

Oh, and I've requested Jack to build 40 instead of 35. Just in case if any other people changes their mind later. I told him that a lot of people wanted in, but it just wasn't the right timing.
No promises on the GB price though if you want to buy one after this GB is over.
