*** Official Uni-Chip Group Buy ***

Okay guys, this is it. Now that we got the result of from the E-Manage for the NA cars, we can get this ball rolling again for the Uni-Chip Group Buy.

Can the MODS make this a sticky?

===============================

Before you consider this mod, here are some of the info that have been already discussed on this forum.

Email from UniChip

Original Dyno with some Driving impressions

Official UniChip Dyno Chart Thank you scalber for this one.

E-Manage for NA result

================================

Here's the latest Email Jack from UniChip sent me. (2/09/04)

Brian,
Thanks for the e-mail; I certainly understand the delays but getting there in the end is all that matters.

We're certainly interested in the NOS car... as we discussed, we can directly control the NOS through the Unichip and provide an integrated NOS/fuel/timing solution which works very nicely.

We also won't have any issues with the 3.5L conversion... we can optimize any parts which mechanically fit on the engine. I doubt the kit hardware will change at all with the larger displacement, but the maps certainly will and if guys want to buy pre-programmed kits we'll obviously have to see one of the cars.

Yes, the deposit is still $100 which is fully refundable should we fail to provide a functional kit.

We have submitted the prototype build sheet to our manufacturing guys and are awaiting their estimate. Please let me know if I can provide any additional answers about the CL project.

I also need to see your S2000 if at all possible. I know you wanted to wait until the aftercooler was installed, but I'd like to see it either way as quickly as possible to ensure our harness configuration for the car is correct. Let me know.

Cheers,
Jack

Mattg, and TypeR, take out your calanders, lets put you guys in touch with them for a tuning session.

So here is the deal. I'm not trying to twist anyone's arms to get this, but I will take the responsibility to collect and give the money to uni-chip when we have 20 people for the group buy.

contact me via email.. my box here get full really fast. I created an address just for this.

gt_guy123@yahoo.com

Since most of you don't know me, excpet for a few WestCoast guys, I completely understand not wanting to send money to a stranger. Therefore, I think if you send me a bank issued check made out to "UniChip" would be the best bet. Or we can make other arrangements if needed.

As for the 6 speed people, I think cls6sp03 was going to do something with UniChip, but I don't know where we are with it. So if we can get a 6 speed here, they will get a chip for yours also.

Again, please post here if you are serious buyer, and also let your TL buddies know about it, so we can make this group buy a success.

I'm in for sure 100%....! I'm sure you don't want to give everyone your personal address so where would you like the money sent?

We need 20 people to get a good deal and to have them make the PnP harness so lets get this going ASAP........!!!

Edit: Did you get a ballpark cost for the chip with PnP, if we get 20 people ?

One last thing. Please keep this thread clean for people who want to buy this chip. We already have enough threads about why people don't want it, and why they don't want it. Because I'm going to do my best on keeping the GB list as updated as possible so everyone can see where we stand.

Is this indeed firmed up a bit, CLS2001_97124? Again, I am aware we are trying to stay on topic, but this and the fact that I thought Unichip had another dyno plot to post (outside of what is at the link above) appears to be the looming issues...

No problem r10apple.

However I'm not too sure I understand what you mean about another dyno plot post. To my knowledge there is only 2. One from the dyno shop, and the other with tq curve from uni-chip.

Sorry for not posting the price. I tried to edit, but it was too late.

The price of unit is between: $700-750.

I don't think so, I think a tuning for it will be needed also.

But in all honesty, if you want the chip, why didn't you get the Type S??!! j/k..

Call them and find out.. the 800 number is there.

But seriously, you should contact Jack at UniChip, maybe work something out for your 3.5 liter beast.

In the mean time, I will look into setting up a PO box once we get enough people interested, so you guys can send the payments there.

Does the estimated price of $700-$750 include the PnP harness, or will that cost us extra?

Do we still have to take our car to a Uni-chip deealer for them to install or can we do it ourselves being that it will be P+P. Also if we have to take it to them...do we have to pay more for the installation. I'm saying this cause the price is a little higher than expected and don't want to be like $800-$850 w/ installation. sorry for somewhat changing the subject but this is a lot of cash we're talking about.

It's PnP so I assume it's unplugging from ECU and reconnecting through the UniChip..

I dont' think it will take them too long to produce the chips I think it's the wiring harness that will take some time. I think that's why they are asking for $100 deposit, so they don't lose money on it.
