I prefer not to have to read back thru 42 pages. Is there any change to the PnP for the 6 speeds?

The 2 members that just paid through paypal, could you send me a PM with your real name and ACL screen name? If you are on the list, no need to PM.

Update as of 4-21-04

Scott,

I should have a better estimate for you on the ETA in a few days, as we are
still scheduling Delivery with the Manufacturer. I will definitely be
contacting everyone to clarify Modifications, Shipping address and payment
methods once we have a firm date. Thanks for being proactive and making
sure the Group Buy runs smoothly on the Forum side.

I was planning on getting it done next month. I knew i could always re-sell the unichip at a later date b/c of the small # of production.

What did scalbert end up gaining w/ the e-manage?

A few much ago, I talked with both UniChip and CompTech about doing something together for the S/C. I think they briefly talked and that was probably the end of it. From what I've heard from CompTech, it's very unlikely that the UniChip would work well with the CT S/C kit. In fact one of our board members (scalbert I believe) looked into the very same thing and came to the same conclusion.

Ok, I think I will grab one of the last spots. Someone tell me how easy it is to install please .
I will get the money order tomorrow.
Let me see If i got all this correct.
Money order for $100 now, and then the remaining $575 at a later date ? Mailed to Brian

It'll be real easy to install. Take off interior panel near center console to reveal the stock ECU. Unplug stock ECU. Plug Uni-chip inline with ECU ("piggyback") and voila. You are installed.

Rinse, Lather, Repeat.

And yes that is the correct way to go about paying. Make the money order out to Uni-chip. You can also send a personal check (many of us did).

It wasn't so much as gaining power from it as it was allowing me to run the IC and more boost. Without the e-Manage I couldn't run the intercooler and the boost I currently am.

The main benefits for the Unichip over the e-Manage is the ability to advance timing. You do NOT want that with the blower. If anything you want to retard timing which the e-Manage can and does do. The e-Manage has the fuel advantage where it can directly extend the pulse width which is how I am getting the additional fuel needed to run the IC and 7 PSI boost. Without it I would be running engine damaging lean.

Are there anymore spots open? I don't really have the money since I put the comptech headers on, but if this is the only time this chip will ever be available with pnp then I think I can find a way to get the money.

Hey guys, I totally forgot about this unichip thing. Still interested in it though. How many people are in this thing so far? Do we pay $100, get the item, and then pay the rest? Thanks.

I thought you were in already, I remember you somewhere on my lists... Anyways we are at 30+ people.. UniChip said they were going to make a few extras but it seems now people are jumping all over this so I'm not sure if there are anymore spots.. You'll need to contact CLS2001 to find out that info.. It would be a $100 deposit and then $575 when the produce the finished product..

Okay. I going to make a trip out this afternoon, I hope its a good day at work, so I can actually get off at 5:00pm for once. This Oracle implementation is killing me!!! (Too bad I don't work close their shop instead of living close to it.. I'm never home now.. )

I have not received the one that was sent out Fedex. So I'll just be turning the money I got from Paypal.

Wow...the resale must be nearly as good...na'er say better than our cars! If this is specific to our cars then I won't ever think of it as a value added. When you claim X horse power and explain that you jumped the main engine chip....someone has to raise an eyebrow. Sounds like a great idea...but like NOS, your car is done. IMO. Perhaps I am wrong.

Yes actually you are.

Comparing this chip to nitrous makes you sound like a fool.

Nitrous injects something completely foreign into the engine to create power. The Uni-chip only maximizes air and fuel mixtures to produce more power and torque.

Also, people who will re-sell the chip will do so separate to the sale of their car. This will maximize their profits. Also, the next owner of the CL-S will have no idea the ECU was ever piggy-backed. The chip is not a 100% replacement, it is something that is plugged inline with the ECU and alters what the ECU reads.

The chip will have no adverse affects to the engine. In fact my dealer's service department supports it as well as Hondata's products.

I guarantee once people dyno their cars with the Uni-Chip and take their car to the track and post the improvements in power and acceleration the value of the chip will greatly increase. Considering there will only be 35 made with the plug and play harness.

Also the tuning popularity of our cars will most likely rise in the next year or two based on the fact that more and more CL-S's are hitting the used car lot. Thus, younger buyers (can you say $$ tuners??) will become more interested in the car because they can afford it.

Read pages 1-44 before you come in here bad mouthing this project.
