I'll withhold judgement until I see the real thing, but at least based on that front 3/4 shot, I think people who were contemplating exchanging their o4/05s for the 06 simply because of the exterior changes can stand down.
I still prefer the look of my 04 frankly, and with the amount I would lose out in trading in my 04 for an 06, might as well get a Kenstyle or Mugen kit!
Be interested to see what stylistic mods have been made to the interior (better seats would be nice...) and to the rear. Heard the rear light treatment will be more in line with the 05 RSX? WIth the TSX rear fascia, that would look a little strange...

i'm a bit disappointed, was expecting a bit more (obviously not as much as a major change) and i too do not like where they put the fogs, but that's just my own taste. maybe i will go for the 05 or the 07 RSX if it comes out at the right time

I gotta agree with a lot of the posts here. I'm just not that impressed with the looks. I prefer the foglights where they were in 04/05. I like the current grill better, too.

I still think the Euro-R front, Euro-R grill, Euro-R fog, Euro-R side and Euro-R wheel look way better than the 06. Why we can't get Euro-R in Canada???? at least give us Euro-R look with K24A2 and make this a Honda Accord CA-R!

And my two cents on the '06 pic: I really don't like it. The fogs look bizarre, the headlights not pronounced enough, and I like the hood on my '04 a lot better w/ the chrome trim and the deeper crease lines to the back of the hood.

Phewwww....I was pretty pissed when I got my 05 two months ago, because of all the changes coming out in the 06. But now, after seeing the exterior changes, I like the 04/05 style much better. All I really want is the newer Navi and memory seats.
I still have to see it in person.

i'm happy with my 04 TSX, another car Honda designers should've left alone. is it just me or are those rims the same kind that are on the 06 USDM Accord on that other thread in the automotive news section?

Its really hard to see but, did they round off the trunk? It seems that way to me.
Also, any speculation on what they mean by an upgraded "multi info display"?

I like the new style. It looks more aggressive, but the new fog lights are simply not doing it for me. I don't understand why they couldn't integrate the fog lights into the same position as they currently are.
Well, I have to wait until I see the car in person. A lot of the time, pictures don't really do justice. Especially when we have a small picture in very low-resolution quality.

Like others have said, I guess I'll have to see the car in person. I liked the chrome grill as well...not super keen on this grill or these fog lights.
I don't think this will stop me from getting an '06, though. Short me + taller other drivers = NEED for memory seats.

nose looks crushed down, although i wont pretend that i'm not jealous of the new navi, but that's about it. It also looks like the changes are minor enough that once anybody slaps on a new bumper/side skirt kit you wont be able to tell any difference.

Coping the picture and zooming in on it, it looks pretty similar. It is hard to tell from the lower angle that the shot is taken on how different the new look will be. It's also hard to tell if the signal indicators on the mirror are gone or not. I hope that they are still there.
We will have to see if they are actually the rims that will appear and if so how they look in person.
Thanks for the pic though. I still plan to get the 06.

Well I wonder if anyone will be able to do the JDM kits anymore on this new model. It does look more aggresive than the stock 04-05 but I don't think I would buy it since I wouldn't (think) be able to put any current aftermarket kits.

My jdm conversion looks better than that car i am not changing to that ever

Valid question. I have NO information to back this up with, but I suspect that the Bluetooth functionality will be independent of the presence of the Navi system. I think that the need for the new "multi-functional display" is probably partly driven by the requirement to display phone data.

Just spotted the October issue of R&T at the gym. With the clarity of the printed picture there is no question on the integrated turn signal lights in the mirrors, they are definitely still there, which is no surprise I guess. There is also still some kind of trim around the grill, and I dare say it could be chrome, but it is hard to tell with that color car.
Overall the car looks better in print than the scan, it's crisper
. The styling changes are definitely growing on me. IMO the front bumper of the '05 was a bit too square looking, it did not flow as well with the car as it does with the '06. But this car is begging for a drop though... it just sits too high!

I called a few local dealers today and was told that Acura Canada currently has extremely low finance/lease rate of 2.9%, part of the reason is to clear out all current 2005 models especially the TSX. One dealer actually told me that the reason that they offered such a low rate was simply because once the 2006 models were out it would be very hard for them to sell the 2005 ones left over. All the changes that Acura has made to the new TSX appear to be very positive and and with only a few hundred bucks price increase, it is expected to sell very well.
Like I said, I really don't think that small picture did its justice. Let's wait until more pictures become available.

can someone please post a comparable picture of a current tsx? (same low angle/ point of view w/ possibly a SSM) ...to me, these are very minor body changes, not a major re-design at all...
it would be interesting to do an apples to apples comparo of just two photos; the 04-05 vs. the 06.
all of this negative talk feels a little "over-hyped" to me.

actually if you go into the interactive showroom @ acura.com, you can get an almost identical view....
the lighting in the showroom is much better (obviously) but you can really see how they slimmed down that meaty front end. tho, the fogs could have been integrated better, that's for sure.
gotta say, i do think it looks more aggressive w/ the more pronounced trim line at the bottom.
aside from the slight taper down at the bottom of the rear, they look identical from that angle
wonder if LED's are in the back....

I think the grille and the chrome trim is identical to 2004/2005.
The lights are most likely identical, I think if they had changed them they would have really changed them like on the latest RSX refresh. If they changed the rear lights to make them LEDs that makes it even less likely that they put money towards changing the front.
The only changes I see so far is the same as on the last-gen Accord and Civic refresh: a mini body-kit all around, to make the car more sporty. Honda does this on all their refreshes, it seems to make like on the first 2-3 model years they make the bottom of the car rounded so that you can strap on a $2000 body kit to make it look sporty, and then for the refresh they add that on to the standard car.
Now the only problem is, can you still get a body kit for 2006? I imagine it's harder to attach one to the 2006 since it already has that pseudo body kit sticking out all around. I wouldn't be surprised if they just phased it out, since it wouldn't make that much difference compared to stock.
The fog lights: my first impression was yuck, what the hell? The front still looks ok because it's more sporty, but they didn't do a great job integrating the foglights, at least from this angle. From the front it probably looks ok.
I think it's a slight improvement over 2005, the car looks more sporty but less "smooth". I never really liked how rounded out the bottom of the TSX front was.
Overall I think 2004/2005 with body kit beats this, and I'd be curious to see whether you can even add an OEM kit to the 2006. Could you add one to the 2002 Accord coupe special edition? I've never seen one with a body kit.

the hood seems slimmer too, not so much crease.
and the new side skirts look good as well...
the thing i'm worred about is the rear, one of the tsx's best attributes IMO.

No....I'm with you on all of that. I was never terribly impressed with the front end before..I think changes are subtle enough that it wouldn't matter to me either way. Love the side skirts. I never liked the wheels on the 04/05. Was planning on ditching those ASAP anyways. I like the new ones a bit better, but will want to customized for my own style, as will most people here I'd venture to guess.
It's harder for the people who already own an 04/05 to like the new style. I know this because I hate the new generation of Accords because I have an 01 and think it's the most beautiful thing ever!
