Yea i guess you're right about the cost issue. Maybe the stock rims actually give the ride/handling/suspension of the car more of a "heavy" or european type of driving feel in the twisties, etc...?

True, i agree that the navi CPU sucks. And somehow mine is getting worse over time. Seems like the menus are taking longer as the system gets older.

Nope...a heavier wheel only means the car will be slower the accelerate, slower the stop, and it'll put more work on the shocks/springs (so it doesn't help handling).

I'm sure they're heavy because they're strong. Throw enough material at any design and you'll end up with something strong.

You never hear of OEM wheels bending or cracking.

Minimize warranty claims? Good point. But Acura could have used BBS (light and durable) rims a la BMW.

If only they threw enough material in the dashboard, steering column, doors/speakers, A-pillar. Ooops, the last one has been improved for 06.

Not all BBS are light and not all BMW's rim are from BBS. My 2 of my type44 already bent. But BBS are strong.

And what do you mean about the navi? is it too easy to use...?
Why would they put them on the other windows. The whole point of one touch windows is so the driver can focus on driving. The rest of the people don't need it.

Well maybe the driver wants to put down a window besides (or in addition to) his own -- after all he has controls for all the windows does he not?

If you owned a BMW, you'd be happy if the car only rattled for an annoyance issue.

Wait...where did they say they improve that?

from the list of improvements:

"Increased rigidity of upper A-arm reduces NVH"

I believe that's just another phrase for the upper wishbone (for the double wishbone front suspension) and not the A-pillar? Never heard of an A-pillar referred to as an A-arm

Oops. My bad.

Though I am curious what issues there are with our current A-arm?

Probably nothing, functionality wise. The beefier A-arm is to reduce NVH, meaning the car will transmit less noise and vibration to the interior of the car

Now here with the TSX, it received a reported 10 hp bump, but with the new figures rates 205 SAE hp making it more like 212 hp (rounded to 215) under the old system.

The old 05 K24 was rated 200 hp under the old system but was more like 192 SAE hp under the new.

Hello everyone, I was just checking the Honda French site and it seems that they just released a Honda accord with the 2.4 iVTEC engine check the link for pics). It says that it has 190 hp and not 200hp. Also, they released a 2.2 Turbo Diesel Accord, a first for honda.

Accord Euros all around the world except Japan and the US get the 190hp K24A3 engine. You guys are lucky to get the K24A2.

I agree. The TSX OEMs are by far the best alloys I've had so far. I've thrown potholes I thought could have ripped the whole suspesion away, but those wheels have never bent. By comparison, my 16lbs alloys on my 95 Accord EX-R all got bent at some point. Some needed heavy repairs to get them back on the car.

Agreed. I lost my front tire from a blowout after my front wheel got swallowed by a large pothole, but the rim never got bent, just got scratched. I am using my new tires with the OEM rims still, they are pretty tough!

With the new HP ratings in the US, the HP numbers quoted in the rest of the world will be even more off than before (where PS and other HP numbers were not quite 1:1).

Dealer rep emailed me today and mentioned that their Acura rep showed drawings of the '06 TSX today, no pictures yet. It indicated more aggresive front-end and side sill extensions, and some restyling on the tail-lights (it reminded him of the '05 RSX...I could not detect a difference between the '05 and '06 RSX...but either way I'm not sure this will be a good change). The new rims looked to have aero type spokes .

Acura rep expected that the '06 will show up at the dealers late October/early November.

True that. If not talking about HP, we can compare torque too. Are torque measurements still the same? K24A2 has more torque than K24A3.

Are you saying the '06 has less torque than the '04/'05? If so, I think you're mistaken. The only reason the torque figure went down is because the rating system changed -- that does NOT mean the engine actually makes less torque. In fact, I bet it makes slightly more.

We can use the TL as a benchmark since its engine didn't change (so we have figures of it rated both different ways). Comparing a '05 TL to a '05 TSX, you can see there is a 70HP and and a 72ft-lb difference. Comparing a '06 TL and a '06 TSX, those difference drop to 53HP and 69ft-lbs. So one could argue that the '06 TSX gained roughly 17HP and 3ft-lbs.

2006 pics

These are purportedly pictures of the 2006 TSX during crash testing. The styling changes seem subtle from the little you can see in these pictures ...

I know this doesn't confirm its a 04/05 but the rims are definently from an 04/05.

I've seen that before. that's an 04 (no XM hump on top), not a the 06. It looks different because the picture is squashed and low quality, but it's still an 04.

Well... the destination is actually what they charge to get the vehicle to the dealership. So i guess since gas prices went up, their courier fees went up too.

On another note, the pics are not an 06. No integrated fogs.

Is that new silver going to be more like anarchite on the TL? If so I would like that color on the TSX. That what I thought carbon grey was originally going to be.

I gave a $500 deposit to my dealer back in late May for him to locate/order a MSM 6sp.non navi. I was set on that color and tranny. Around late June he told me that production had stopped and it seemed that he couldn't locate that color combo anywhere. I had my doubts about that but whatever. Anyway....so here I am waiting to see what the 06's look like and what the price will be. I'll be trading in my 02 RSx-S so let the games begin...

pretty sure that new silver is actually lighter and less "blue" than SSM...
it's called "alabaster silver"... not "anarchite" (or anthracite)

alabaster is basically a whitish/ yellowish rock...

Went to check with the dealership today about the changes. They have no clue about any changes, or pictures. Goes to show you how informative your dealers really are. They'll find out everything about the car the same day we do.

Alabaster silver is probably similar to the "Champagne Silver" available on some Asian Accords. It's a "warmer" silver (yellowish) than the "cooler" Satin Silver which is more on the blue side.
