I'm wodenring if the '06 will have a higher redline with the peak HP now coming at 7000rpm. I always thought the 2.4 should be able to go a little higher. Before anyone starts propgating the myth that the 2.4L has faster piston speed than an S2000, let me tell you you're wrong. Doing the math, both the 2.0L and 2.2L S2000 have a signficantly faster piston speed -- heck even the RSX-S is faster I believe.

Ugh, if they ditched the zero-degree gauges (as the pics from the Japanese Accord indicate)... BLAH. I LOVE the zero-degree gauges.

and regarding the grill, ever since the new TL came out, i was hoping the TSX wouldhave a grill similar to the TLs...maybe it will

i dont see how acura can change the rear when imo, it's already perfect...PLEASE do NOT put Euro taillights on there...actually doing so would make me feel better about my 05 lol

The earlier price increase was mostly due to the large increase in the price of steel and not really the added features. Since steel hasn't drastically changed since that last increase, the 2006 MSRP bump could very well be small.

STL is 90% correct.

Ask Dan Martin (he works for some steel company), he predicted the increase when the 04's were selling .

My wife works on the business side of a company that buys a lot of steel. Based on what she knows (and roughly estimating the amount steel used in a car), she said most of that price increase was likely due to increased price in steel. Most likely Acura only added those other new features to the 2005s so the customers would see something for the increased price.

SOB!!!! Damn you Acura. I'm one of the unlucky 05 owners I guess. boo. And I only have 4k miles on my car.. DOH!

I wonder how many people will trade their 04's or 05's.

If this is the case, the first thing I'm ordering are the low profile wipers.

Wow! I am drooling already.... though I should really wait to see how it looks with the new exterior styling! I hope the front grill will look more like the TL.

Now, how long is a typical Acura cycle for each model? 6 years?

I guess the lifespan of this TSX probably won't be that long then, since it started in 2002 in Japan and I guess it will develop into something bigger and better too, just like how the G20 (which was a rebadged European Nissan) has developed into the G35.... am I on the right track here?

Maybe we can use the new camshafts and valves used in the 06's and still have the weight advantage.

I'm excited that TSX is getting better..but I won't have it...I wonder how much the price will differ from 05?
I bet that the TSX w/navi will be no cheaper than 32K.

I'm happy I bought my car when I did. I got it for 27K with navi, which I think is a steal.

I will however take a look at it. If the payment difference isn't much, then I wouldn't mind to upgrade.

I know for sure the euro accord was out in early 03 in the UK. I remember seeing them in show the show room when I was getting my car serviced. I wont go into my first impression of the car but it had to grow on my. It looked alot smaller and thinner than the TSX.

A 2k price difference for a mid model change?? I dont think the msrp price differential will be greater than 600-1000 bucks.

I just went over to the Honda UK site - they have the new Civic there. If you care to look at what some of the new paint colors look like, go to the exterior pics of the new Civic - it shares some of the new paint colors that the TSX will have too.

Now, this actually really bothers me - why would Honda/Acura be sharing the same paint colors? If Acura wants to build its own identity, it should stop using the same components as Honda. I know the same old argument for cost-cutting etc.... but if I still see the Honda parts in my Acura, in the long run, it does not do the brand name any favor.

There is no Acura in the UK or anywhere else other that North America. If I'm not mistaken.

I heard there is a new HP rating system....

This is also why the RSX-S is showing 201 HP vs 210 and 155 vs 160. Its just a new rating that is going to be used...I think it will be across the board for the manufacturers.

I agree with you on the first part; thinking Acura is going to raise the MSRP $2,000 for a MMC is absurd. Where I don't agree with you is the other range you gave -- if Acura wants to stay competitive the MSRP better not go up more than $250 if at all.

The original owner of my 2004 TSX bought it in June of 2003. Mind you, it's VIN #00032, but yes, the TSX was out in mid-2003 (as MY 2004).

Dude, are you really complaining about sharing paint colors? Don't you know the TSX is the Accord for the "rest of the world"!?! Heck, even the NSX is a Honda is Japan! Both Infiniti and Lexus do just as much sharing as Acura -- and if they didn't the couldn't even make these cars for a reasonible price. I wonder how many prospective customers even know the TSX is an Accord -- and out of that relatively small number how many really care?

That means that they body style has been out since 02 in japan and europe. It's time for some slight exterior upgrades.

The power increase sounds nice, but for the people w/ a lot of mods, I don't think it'll be much different except having different camshafts. And as mention Hondata still needs to crack the ECU to see the real gains. here's hoping for a new reflash

The exterior changes irk me because it'll probably hurt the aftermarket for the original TSX, as if there was any. It'd be really bad if the existing CL7/9 parts didn't fit. I already have a new grill and side sills, who needs stock ones

But the guy is complaing about the fact that essentially the same car in Europe (where it is badged as a Honda) is painted the same colors as the car here (where it's badged an Acura). I don't think the dude even realizes the Acura TSX is an european Honda Accord!
