nope not kidding. Just never really felt the need to blow hundreds of dollars to get blue balled. Now spending hundreds of dollars to get SNOWBALLED is a different story. hahahaha

First off, I hope all you guys had a great holiday season and I'm sure Mantis drank enough to cover us all
![Wink](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Anyways, my Christmas was pretty busy as I had to do all my shopping the week of Christmas and even some more afterwards.
A couple of months before xmas, some friends and I tried to take a Nissan 200sx (sentra) with an SR20DET in it and upgrade the turbo. The stock turbo on the Japanese motor is a ball bearing Garret T25. We tried to put a T28 on it, but failed and so the car had been sitting in front of my house, dead, since. I decided I was tired of it being there and was going to finish the job. I called a buddy of mine who is always an excellent help while modding to help me out. We spent most of New Years Eve trying to put the T28 on, but after some troubles and a visit to the greatest parts dept in the world (courtesy nissan's parts dept), I found out that the turbo was incorrectly clocked (the intake outlet was pointing the wrong way). So with it clocked the right way, it wouldn't work. It would require a bit more custom piping. So we gave up on that idea and spent the rest of that day (until about 6 because it was time to get ready to party), a good portion of New Years Day, and the day after that putting the T25 back on. Let me just say that copper turbo lines are a bitch! I highly recomend to anyone to use stainless steel braided lines. Either way, we got it runnin and I got to drive it for a week. Had fun racin a supercharged Camry as he and I blew the socks off a Prelude with all bolt ons and a 75 shot. Slow fool challenged me! (dumbass)
Also during the holiday season my buddy put an SR20 into his 240. I know I mentioned it prior to the holiday season. A lot of headaches came from the entire ordeal but he's now got himself a freshly rebuilt motor and he's more than half way to breakin it in. We just redid his entire suspension Sunday.
Another reason I haven't been postin much is that my company went from an NT network without DNS to an Active Directory network with DNS and boy was it not a fun upgrade. So, i've been kinda busy here as well.
All in all, I'm doin fine and i'm alive. I won't be able to make it Saturday night because DNE is having our meet that night, but I'm sure I'll catch you guys the next time yall get together.

wow, i definitely don't have the balls to just start a custom turbo job... sorry that didn't work out, but at least you got that car outta your front yard.
Active directory... sounds like fun, i gotta go to a class for that in April.
So where's the DNE meet? Maybe we'll crash it... :P
Know anyone in Arlington with a black SE-R spec V with exhaust? I've seen him driving around my area a few times with a DNE sticker on his back door windows.

oh yeah, got my Toyo Proxes 4 put on today. Ordered them yesterday morning from Discount Tire and they called me today at 2. Paid $540 for 4 tires including tax, shipping, and the road hazzard insurance. Not too bad a deal. When i get used to them and find the limits I'll let you know how they handle.

AD is neat, but the upgrade can be a pain. Take a class in Clustering. trust me, you'll thank me for it.
And the black spec you are seeing is the infamous tekmode. The DNE meet is a Forest and Abrams in dallas as always. you guys are MORE than welcome to come out. our little shindig will start at 5:30 or maybe a bit earlier, I can't remember.

eh, the turbo wasn't as bad as you think. just a lot of extra piping. the scary part was when we finally got everything put back together, we started the car and after a bit my buddy screamed at me to shut it down. there was a small oil leak coming from the oil feed line into the turbo. to check it, we would have had to take EVERYTHING back off. not what I wanted to do. we ended up pulling the fans off so that we could have room to get a wrench to it. when we first attempted to get at it with a wrench, we were also using the wrong size. we just gave up for the night and came back the next morning and came up with the idea to remove the fans. sure enough the bolt wasn't anywhere near tightened down, so after we tightened it and put the fans back, it ran like a champ. boy was it fun to drive a low 13 sec car. Some Z28 thought he was cool one night... I showed him different.![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Clustering? what's that?
I think our meet is a bit later, maybe we'll crash the DNE meet first, and then head to Grapevine Mills.

it really wasn't much... honestly I treated the car as it if were my own during the whole process, funny part is, I was taking better care of it then the actual owner does... oh well
Clustering... as in Windows Server Clusters and what not... learn it, you'll be glad you did
and yeah, you guys are more than welcome to crash the DNE get together. I correct myself on my earlier statement. Our meet is gonna start at 4pm to give us some good amount of sunlight

yeah I have seen three in there but I figured everyone from here might have a solid lead on a good car.
I see the thing with the upgrade from NT
Clustering is a blast
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...g/default.mspx
did you jump straight to 2003 or just to 2000
were the client machines already upgraded?
how many users, servers, clients.
did you do scripts to make AD easier to handle?
sorry so many ?'s
I do computers for a living
