Can anyone recommend a good Windows 7 Desktop control app? Is Desktop Connect the way to go?
If you have the pro version of Windows 7 then get the Jump Desktop app is bad ass! That's what I use. Desktop Connect looks good too but I've never used it so I can't compare, but I have no desire to switch from the Jump Desktop app.

So I played with it in Best Buy, they had the New next to the 2 and I couldnt tell the difference until I really looked at photos, etc. That told me I dont need the new one. Its gorgeous and if I had the 1 or none, I would get it, but I cant justify the jump from the 2 to the 3. Its a sad day.

Okay, so I'm not the only one who could not see the huge difference. Mind you, I did not open up any photos while playing with the new device.

You can see the difference when you get more into it. But for my needs, I dont think its going to kill me to use the Ipad 2.

Whiskers must be blind. There's no other explanation.

Its not possible for Yumchah to say anything even remotely positive about an Apple product so no surprise there. Although I doubt he even touched it. That would be like a vampire touching garlic.

I'm gonna say something a little brash here. If you can't tell the difference between a 1024 pixel wide display and a 2048 pixel wide, that's your problem, not Apple's.

That's not true. I've always said very positive things about Apple and their glorious products.

I have never called them crap or . Ever. And I have the posts to prove that.

I can easily see the difference when looking at photos, the home screen is slightly clearer, but that much. Im sure some apps are clearer, but it wasnt the wow factor when I saw them side by side. I think if I bought it before seeing it, I would have been disappointed when it came. Its still a great product and I probably will eventually have it, its just not a huge difference between that and the 2.

Hey, given your line of work with photos, I'm sure you see the huge difference...again, I wasn't looking at pictures and just had both the 2 and NEW side-by-side with Safari open. And again, didn't see anything different.

Clearly, I need new glasses and a lobotomy.

The difference in video is also great. Try watching the Avengers Trailer on the iPad3, and be sure you have the HD option turned on.

Yeah, like I said, I'll try it out again, this time with photos/videos when I have another hands-on demo later this week.

Holy shiet...

After the final bell, Apple announced that the company moved more than 3 million new iPads in the first four days of eligibility, making the new iPad the fastest selling tablet in the world

There goes the exclusivity I thought I had...

I stream DVD and bluray rips from my server to my iPad. When I had the ipad 2 I couldn't tell the difference between dvd or bluray on it because screen was so low res. Now with the new screen there's so much more pixels I can see all the detail I was missing. Looks fantastic!

Also on webpages with small text, say if you went to www.theverge.com or www.nytimes.com you can read the article without having to zoom in and the text looks so much clearer.

but yeah on the home screen it's doesn't look amazingly better. The home screen was designed to look well on a low res screen so you only get clearer text, better rounded corners on the icon and a little bit more detail to some icons. It's the videos, pics, small text that looks really good.

As posted earlier, the iPad super-duper HD will come out in December with 10 billion of pixels per 1/4 of an inch, (X-ray, time-travel retina). You be able see backwards in time and regret your three previous purchases.

You're part of the uber-elite 3 million...what are you complaining about?

Don't you feel sexier, hotter, smarter, and cooler than me? Cuz, I definitely feel inferior to you.

See? Not insulting Apple.

Okay...tried it out again tonight. Yes, the pictures and high-res videos do look better. However, for day-to-day surfing of the tablet, not sure if upping from the iPad2 is exactly the huge improvement, IMO.

And from a browser perspective, like reading a website and news, again, I did not see much of a difference.

But since it won't have ESP, millions will not buy it.

from a browser perspective...its light years better. Just the text alone.

The real test, and what I showed my wife...the kindle app on the old screen vs the new screen. Its a night and day difference...as is reading.

While I really enjoyed reading books on my 1st gen....reading now is VERY enjoyable. I love it.

Ugh. The sliders aren't real time either...BUT it's WAY better than laminar. Very intuitive, lots of control.

Does anyone elses 10w charger get really hot when charging their iPad? It's almost to the point where I can't touch it.

However when I use the same charger for my iPhone, it doesn't even get warm...

For anyone with a JB 2 (and I will guess the new one when its jailbroken) I bought a cydia app that makes the retna iphone apps look good in 2x called retna pad. works and a very well spend 2 bucks.

Photoforge and PF 2 are pretty good. Both are turnkey filter apps, with some manual adjustments capabilities.

Retina iPad already uses retina iPhone graphics. I was thinking about getting that for my ipad 2 but i decided just to save my $2 and get the new iPad instead.
