Don't feel bad. This is the first time I'm jumping in an buying one when they come out as well. Probably won't do this again for a while, but we'll see what happens next year. LOL

I was a little surprised that I got the iPad2, but their quality in recent years is much different than what it was 10, let alone 5 years ago.

Omg this is awesome with movies in the cloud.
So I have a digital copy of wall-e and the dark knight that came with the blurays I bought.
Anyways with movies in the cloud, it shows that I purchased the movie in iTunes and will let me watch it on my apple TV

ok so I need a case and possibly screen protection? How are the screens on these things? Need to cover them up or no?

iPad 2 cases will not fit the new one. Its thicker by a hair.
How much traveling are you going to do with said iPad? My first gen has been fine for over a year with just a shell case to protect the aluminum from getting scratched up. The screen is the same gorilla glass screen. Its tough.
What WILL fit the new iPad is the magnetic smart screen cover from apple...thats all you need to protect the screen. IF you want more...some companies are going to come out with rear shells that still allow for use of the smart cover.
To me, thats the best bet.

I just read this morning that Apple says "most accessories" (including the smart cover) for the ipad 2 will fit the new ipad.
