I was hoping to order from Amazon to avoid paying tax, but from what I'm hearing they may not get it for a couple months.

The wife has made it known that I do not need this. This usually means that I need to wait for some occasion. Luckily my birthday is in 3 months. If I can bear with the horrible fact that I need to use my Ipad 2 until then, I may have a shot.

I need a case to hold me over until new ones come out specific for the new ipad
For under $9, do you guys think this will hold me over for a couple of weeks? I want to have something before my Ipad arrives
Eventhough its for the ipad2, I assume it will stretch enough to fit the new ipad

Not really my style either, just cheap and does the job to hold me over a bit. I don't want to have a naked ipad

Shipped off my iPad2 to amazon today. 
Surprisingly Amazon increased their iPad2 64GB Wifi only black back up to $445 from $415 the day the iPad3 was announced. Wonder why they increased it.

If you have a screen cover like the smart cover, or whatever you buy...I don't see the need for a film protector.

I hear what you are saying, it seems to be 50-50 for/against a screen protector from what i'm finding. All other devices i've owned were always protected by screen covers so I guess I just don't feel comfortable just yet going naked.
Also, I will be throwing this in and pulling it out of my bag everyday plus most likely letting my nephews play with it once in a while so I rather be safe than sorry.
I'm pretty anal with my electronics as I always plan to most likely sell them in the future to get a few bucks back.

ill probably put one on mine.
i had a power support one on my iPhone 4, but because of the new bumper case i got, i couldnt use it cause the case pinches the edges of the screen protector...

Pussy. I'm still using my iPad 1 that I got as a high school graduation present.
I had a PowerSupport Anti-Glare screen protector on my iPad2 and I'll be doing the same with the iPad3. Personally, I don't like the amount of glare/reflection off the iPad and their Macbook line.
