We are so glad we picked this iPad 2 up for $180... It's proved extremely valuable while we have been searching for houses.

To JB or not JB...that is the question.

And Apple won't support the original iPad for iOS 6? Can't think of a technical reason why. The 3GS is supported, less frequency on the CPU.

Greedy bastards.

Pissed about that. Original iPad is barely two years old and already an orphan. 3GS doesn't even have A4. They still sell the 3GS, that's why it's supported. Total BS. They are telling the sheep that it's time to upgrade.

If enough people get pissed I wouldn't be surprised to see a press release in a month "Well it was a lot of work, but we are going to support iPad 1." If app sales drop off a cliff because there is nothing for first gen users to download you can bet that they will push this out the door for iPad 1.

Wasn't aware that the iPad didn't have a clock app and calculator? I wonder why they did that considering its running iOS? Learn something new every day.

If I pick it up, the case starts to come off.

Maybe I'm just holding it wrong

Turning Bluetooth on and off is much quicker than it was in iOS 5. Bluetooth controls are now located in first page of System Preferences, next to the Wi-Fi and Airplane Mode controls.

- The iPad gains a native Clock app with similar function to the iPhone version.

- Users no longer need to enter their password to update apps -- only when purchasing an app for the first time. Additionally, users aren't kicked to the home screen when buying or updating an app in the App Store.
nice.

I ordered the case, two wall mounts, and the stand.

Should work out GREAT in the kitchen.

Finally they moved bluetooth to the root level of the Settings app. now if we can only get them to get it where we can turn wifi and bluetooth on and off from the root level of the settings apps.

i i wish it was like the airplane mode with the switch at the root level.

and then if want to change settings you can press on it like usual and go into the menu.

that or put the toggles in the notification center or multi tasking tray.

saw the ipad at best buy today and i noticed the retina display difference instantly! My dad has the ipad 2 so i'm on it every now and then. Didnt compare it in store.

But man that display was nice. And the colors too although it seems the new apps just had a higher contrast then being more clear? Wonder if its a trick they use so you think the display makes a big difference in the home screen?

wow really? Pretty surprised about this. I though apple was one not to do this. Weird that the 3gs is getting it, although i doubt it wont get any of the upgrades?

yes the 3GS will be missing out on alot of the "big ticket" upgrades in iOS 6.

i agree that the original iPad not getting it doesnt make sense. but forced obsolescence is nothing new to apple.

Thought the new iPad had more RAM.. I'm just having 3 Safari tabs open with all apps killed and it keeps refreshing the pages when I switch between them I wouldn't mind, but if I'm typing something it's gone when I go away and come back
