Apple: iPad News and Discussion Thread
No way! Right now Im just trying to finish all the levels, regardless of how many stars. Although I have to say, from my experience so far, I don't see how it could be possible to get 3 stars on some of these levels. And what's up with the golden eggs?
Golden eggs are just little things you need to get to earn achievements as far as I can tell.
They are interspersed in the levels as where as other places in the app as far as I can tell.
ok, so i watched some video reviewing it..
no want i think. its in italian, too lazy to search for an english review.
but i guess because of the ipad SDK they cant access the hardware acceleration for videos. so HD videos ran really really choppy.

One of the text notes accompanying AppAdvice's video walkthrough of the new iOS 4.2 for iPad suggests that the physical switch on the iPad's side for locking the screen orientation has been repurposed as a mute switch. The change has been confirmed by posters in our forums.
With the change, screen orientation locking is now accomplished within the multitasking tray as on the iPhone under iOS 4. Interestingly, the switch had been originally planned to be a mute switch but was repurposed as an orientation lock as revealed in publicity materials published just weeks before the device's launch.
iPad external buttons and controls: originally-announced (left) and as-released (right)
It is unknown whether Apple had originally planned for iOS 4 to be available for the iPad in time to its initial launch so as to support multitasking tray-based screen orientation locking, or if the changes over time have simply been adjustments to fluctuating priorities and development of new software solutions for certain tasks.

aaaaand it's complete fucking garbage. What a waste! Why even bother if that's the shit you're going to make!? Audio plays but video if you're lucky enough to even get video is completely garbled, it's like watching scrambled porn.
Complete and utter fail

.....as much as i love my Ipad, Ihate Itunes. I've actually been using my EVO for movie watching, because it's just drag and drop.
you know with all this talk of how the ipad was originally supposed to have 2 dock connectors, one for portrait one for landscape, i wonder if it would be possible to customize your ipad and put in a landscape dock connector.
you know, like drill a hole and tap into the existing dock connector connections.

There's a rumored 7in iPad. I could see them introducing a 7in iPad that has the same resolution as the current iPad (1024x768) then bumping the screen res of the next gen 10in iPad.
but what do I know about technology vvvvv

Verizon Wireless is going to start selling Apple Inc.'s iPad at the end of this month, the companies said Thursday.

Verizon Wireless won't sell the 3G version. Instead, it will sell the Wi-Fi version, with the option of bundling it with a "MiFi" gadget for about $130.
Well how else would the iPad connect to verizons network.
Plus that's a better option since the mifi can connect more devices.

These 1GB, 2GB, nGB caps are getting to be really stupid especially with everything moving to the cloud. I understand that the companies gotta make money off their data plans, as they already were when their plans were unlimited, but to start capping them was absurd. And it works for them because there are still plenty of people that are willing to pay it, thereby screwing everyone else over.
Along with your wallet, phone, keys and whatever else you may carry around?
This is where ATT/Apple is suffocating users into their greedy pricing structure for tethering.
My coworker has the hotspot feature on his Palm Pre and it works awesome. He knows who is connected to his phone, can block whoever he wants from it. Whenever he and his fiancee go anywhere he just turns on the hotspot and she get's on her iPhone (it isn't connected to ATT) and plays games, surfs the web, etc.
If ATT/Apple added the hotspot feature + Tethering for a reasonable price and bumped up the amount of bandwidth you'd get, it would be a win. Instead, if you want tethering, you have to get on to the 2GB capped plan, then pay an extra $20 to get tethering, but no extra bandwidth.

I rooted my droid so it has wifi tethering. The iPad connects right up to it. My wife loves surfing the net when we are on long road trips. F mifi.
Wtf, why can't all companies just put wifi tethering on all smart phones for free so they aren't screwing people royally? It's not like they are creating a better service for the customer if the customer has to pay more. :ghey:
