I'm really hoping Thunder beats Dallas because of what Dirk said. He said something about there aren't any teams in the west that worries him.

^^
that was uncharacteristically cocky of Dirk to say, or for any Euro to say.

Being a tad serious, the Clips could be the 'perfect storm' or counter to the Heat. The Clips have a more athletic interior, and their guards are small, but just as quick as the Heat perimeter. But as far as experience, quickness, etc, having 3 all-star point guards, 1 of which was a finals MVP, is going tough to beat, especially if they get their act together.
My problem with both teams is that they lack a post up game. Blake is great and all, but ideally he could turn into a Karl Malone type. Right now, he's nowhere near that. If Lebron really embraces the post, that might be their mismatch. Bosh could do that as well...
Of course, we all know the Clips are gonna lose by a number yet unknown to man....the heat can divide by 0 afterall.

And their bench, while decent, is not deep enough either. But, I'm not a full-time observer of the team...very casual. So, I'll have to let the Clip fans comment there.

I would put the Clippers a notch below the Thunder.

Top 4 teams right now: LeHeat, LeHeat, LeHeat, LeHeat...
But, after that, you have the Bulls, Thunder, Clippers...

IMO, their bench is fairly deep in the point guard and big spots and will likely get deeper (reports are K-mart might sign with them). Where they lack are wing players. Caron Butler is pretty much all they have.
I think what they are is the stereotypical too-athletic-for-good-basketball type teams. While CP3 puts them on another level and is the salve that makes any offense look good. Their defense is quick if not smart or well-sorted. However, a team with a good post-up game maybe able to get into that grind it out sort of game. Teams like the Lakers, Spurs, or Memphis have that sort of game.
I still think they'd be a good counter to the Heat though. Lest I forget, I actually watched that game at Staples.

I am impressed with the 6ers, Pacers, and Hawks so far...

^ Yeah Sixers and Pacers are a real surprise to me this season. East is pretty competitive.
As for the Clips, they have a pretty deep bench (Caron and Bledsoe didn't even play last night), but two of their star players are still very young and I agree with CGE (CarbonGray Earl) that their athleticism (rather than skill/finess) is probably carrying them through some games.
One thing I've noticed this season more so than previous seasons is that the young teams are just doing extremely well - probably due to the compressed game schedule. Thunder/OKC/Jazz/Trailblazers: all fairly young teams in the west that are all playing impressively.

The Clippers are doing much better than usual but they have played the least amount of games in the NBA and have played most of their games at home. I think things will even out more when they play more road games of which they have a losing record.

^^I heard that too.
Apparently Rasheed's been calling the Lakers. I wouldn't mind having him if he's in shape. He can shoot the 3, and would fit well with the reserve team, which features Bynum and a bunch of shooters.
This 6 game grammy trip is always telling of whether the Lakers make little or big moves.

Isn't the Clippers on the list of teams interested in K-Mart too?

Clips got K-mart for the mini-MLE. Quite a power forward rotation for them.

clpassenbye, I agree the Laker need a PG, but having Sheed off the bench would be better than Troy or McRoberts....if he's in shape.

Wow... I thought for sure K-mart would go to the Heat.
And LA representing in the All stars... its ok Laker fans, atleast now you get to finally see CP3 play alongside Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum.
