He did do that whole stem-cells in the shoulder thing before his latest comeback, so who knows what else the guy has done, or any other players. I have no faith in the drug testing...these drug makers are always a step ahead of the testing ![Captain Obvious](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/captainobvious.gif)
As for the Yanks, they could still pull off a trade...I hear Cliff Lee has already passed waivers![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Then, he when he started to pitch for the Yankees, you had to wonder what sort of flaxseed he was on. The signs were all there. There was no way he could've had that sort of night/day improvement so quickly and at his age.

They said he did stem cel therapy when he was on the Yankees.
This was scary as fook.

CLEVELAND — No one has been able to slow down Derek Jeter for the past month, but Indians starter Corey Kluber came dangerously close to seriously injuring the shortstop last night.
Jeter got drilled in the brim of his helmet with a 92-mph fastball from the Cleveland right-hander in the second inning of the Yankees’ 3-1 win over the Indians.
“It’s scary when it’s coming,” said Jeter, whose helmet cracked and was quickly tended to by manager Joe Girardi and trainer Steve Donohue.
When asked what he told Kluber, Jeter said: “Be careful when you throw up and in.”
Jeter stayed in the game and Girardi said the shortstop was able to answer all his questions.
“You worry that it’s the side of the head,” Girardi said. “You could be dealing with a concussion or even worse.”
That’s not what the Yankees need as they try to hold off the Rays while dealing with injuries to their starting rotation. With last night’s 2-for-4 effort, Jeter is hitting .385 (47-122) with 26 runs, six homers and 16 RBI in his last 28 games.
So it was no surprise that, like Jeter, the manager wasn’t pleased with Kluber.
“Guys need to pitch inside, but you’ve got to be careful,” Girardi said. “You try to teach your guys not to go that high. I really don’t think the kid tried to hit him there.”
Jeter agreed there was no intent.
“That’s a dangerous area,” Jeter said. “But I don’t think anyone throws at anyone’s head on purpose.”
Especially with Ichiro Suzuki on first and Kluber having barely survived a rough first inning.
Jeter was able to shake off the pitch enough to make two excellent plays in the hole in the bottom of the inning, throwing out Carlos Santana and Matt LaPorta.
CC Sabathia drew a warning in the third when he threw a ball behind Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, who then homered on the next pitch to tie the game at 1-1.
“I was cutting a lot of balls,” Sabathia said. “That was one of them. It cut a lot and got away from me.”
Jeter helped the Yankees get the lead back in the seventh when he sparked a rally with an infield single. He advanced to second on a throwing error by Cabrera and scored on Nick Swisher’s home run.
“But I’m fine.”
The famously mild-mannered Jeter was clearly upset by the pitch and chastised the 26-year-old Kluber, who is still looking for his first major-league win.

No kidding, the $11 million Boston sent with them looks like chump change.
For some reason I always thought you couldn't trade someone on the DL...maybe that's another sport I'm thinking of

I still can't believe the Dodgers were retarded enough to pick up both the contracts for Crawford and Beckett.

What would be the longest standing GM for a team that has had a record as bad as the Rockies? I wonder how many more years we'll give O'Dowd before the Monfort idiots finally move on.

all work and no play
I think they have nearly 150 million LESS than this year in contracted salaries as of right now for 2013. Lester, Matsuzaka, Lackey, and possibly Pedroia HAVE to go as well. They are all cancer, except Matsuzaka, he's just a 102 million dollar mistake.

Fuckin disgusting that only four current players made the effort to go to Johnny Pesky's funeral last week. The guy gave over 60 years of his life working for the Sox and coaching these guys, purely due to his love for the game, and the team.
Oh yeah

Sounds like Votto is coming back on Friday ![Woot](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/woot.gif)
The problem is this leaves Todd Frazier, the potential rookie of the year and one of the guys that's been carrying this offense the past month, without an everyday position. I just have a horrible feeling that Dusty the Clown will find a way to not fix this problem, just like he's failed to fix his batting order issues since he started managing

Okay, can one of you experts enlighten me on how the trading works in MLB...? So, the trade deadline passed a couple weeks back and yet, another one just recently (the loco one between the Dodgers and BoSox) completed.
So, what's the big difference between the trade deadline trades and the ones that are still ongoing?

If I remember correctly, the players placed on waivers are offered to each team, in order from the worst to the best. They can either pass up the chance, or claim them and try to make a trade for them. If no trade can be made, the player is off waivers and will have to be placed back on waivers again from the beginning (only 99% sure of that).
It's designed to give teams a fair chance to acquire these players. So if Mauer passes waivers, he can then be traded at any time in the future. The no-trade clauses and all that stuff still applies.
There's more to it, but that's the basics. It's not uncommon for players to be placed on waivers and nothing ever come of it (like Cliff Lee, who has already cleared waivers but nobody, as of yet, wants his contract)

In a perfect world he would be gone, but what would it look like if a manager is somewhat successful and doesn't get signed at the end of the year as a reward. Sure it's happened before, but it makes the team look bad to future managers and free agents
![Sad](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/sad.gif)
As for Frazier, they need to start him if RF, move Bruce to CF (who has played there before), bench Drew Stubb's worthless ass, and let Rolen play as much as possible at 3B since he's been steadily improving. Let Frazier play 3B on Rolen's off days and let Chris Heisey/Xavier Paul start in RF those days
![Phil2](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/phil2.gif)
Stubbs is batting .222 with a .288 OBP and 133 strikeouts...and he's our starting CF and bats second in the lineup!!!?!?!?!?!!?!? If you're going to start him, why not bat him 8th so in the off chance he gets on he can either steal or get bunted over to 2nd or 3rd by the pitcher??
That's the main problem I have with Krusty Dusty. Zero creativity with his lineups...he just does everything by the book so if it fails, he can say "I did it how they've been doing it forever"

I was hoping they'd bring up Billy Hamilton, man of a million steals, for the September callups but he's not on the 40 man roster and they don't want to start his arbitration clock
Imagine what a weapon he would be as a pinch runner in the playoffs

Here's hoping the Rockies game I'm going to tomorrow will be a winning game... I've only been to five this year, but we lost all of them. Casey Kelly will probably make that unlikely if not impossible.
