I feel the same way about pretty much the entire Padres staff (besides Jerry Coleman). I'm sure it's the same with some people not liking Marty Brenneman though for whatever reason.
BTW, you must be feelin' pretty smug seeing your Pinks do so well while the Cubbies continue their tradition of being the sucky of the suck?

The Cubs should be contracted.

But in fairness, you know I'm no fair weather fan and had to deal with all the Cubs fans around here when they were good and we were sucking ~ten years ago. Same with the Cardinals, and the Astros way back when they were good. So now it's my turn

Pirates and Brewers I've never really had to worry about

And I think there's something to say about developing talent and making smart trades/FA signings and building a team the "right way", compared to some of the other tactics used, regardless if they fail or succeed

Yes, you've been patient. So, you deserve to bask in some of your glory.

Still, no idea how a team with Baker at the helm still has pitching left since he likes to use his throwers until they have no arms attached.

Don't get me started on that freakin idiot. Surprisingly, I have more problems with his ritarded lineups than anything...I'm sure you've seen my previous s.

Anyways, probably going to the Reds / Astros game tonight. I've seen them play the Astros a hundred times but this will probably be the last for a long time because of the league change next year.

Yup...so, hope the Reds' pitching is still good next year.

And remember to try to be sober enough to know you're actually at a baseball game, okay?

Betting a friend that Roger Clemens will make a start next year for the Astros, even if he's ready or not. He wants to delay his Hall of Fame voting eligibility by another 5 years to let the writer's sort out more of the steroid guys before it's his turn to be judged.

The Astros will have nothing to play for and the owner wouldn't hesitate to do it for him as a favor.

They were talking about the Clemens thing on the radio. If you have a bad team why not sign him. You'll get plenty of butts in the stadium. Miami as an event town would love him. Might as well sign Canseco too.

Doesn't Roger have to pitch this season to push back his HOF eligibility? I thought he was on Dec's ballot.

That's a good question. I wonder if it would just count as one year of his 15 that he's eligible to be on the ballot, and then he's taken off the ballot next year and put back on it 5 years later.

And then I wonder what would happen if he didn't get the minimum votes this year to stay on the ballot (unlikely for him, but a possible scenario)

Maybe he just wants to show he can pitch even at 50 or whatever just to show that he doesn't need roids to pitch well.

ok, I'm making a promise to myself that the Phillies aren't going to pull me in again...only to disappoint.

2010 & 2011 were devastating (2009...that Phillies team was awful...don't know how on earth they made the World Series much less took two games from that Yankees team).

Went to the Rockies game tonight, it was a nice 50 degrees throughout. Despite the loss I'm really starting to love Wilin Rosario, 24 home runs and 62 RBI's as a rookie and because he plays for the Rockies he will never be a ROY contender.

I look forward to the Post Season preview

But Pettitte is coming back Tuesday, Nova came back yesterday (and pitched well). Gardner should be coming back next week, barring any setbacks. He won't be hitting or playing the field, but Girardi said theyd use him in pinch-running situations. We just need Tex to heal and for CC to figure himself out.

Freakin Reds. Cueto is worn out and I'm worried that he won't recover for the playoffs, and less importantly he's lost his Cy Young chance for this year. Worried that the rest of the starters are gonna wear out too. Not to mention Chapman having a dead shoulder

Baker lets Mat Latos work into the 8th inning. Marlins have a man on 2nd with two outs, Reds up by one run.

Instead of going to the best bullpen in the game, he lets Latos give up a game tying double to Reyes. Now there's men on first and second and he finally goes to the bullpen.

You fucking retard, USE YOUR BULLPEN WHEN THEY'RE NEEDED!!!!

EDIT: Sorry for the rant. I watch or listen to 99% of the games and get tired of the same stupid coaching mistakes and decisions over and over

Completely forgot that Carlos Zambrano was still in the league, even if he is a mop up bullpen guy

Have to admit, it's been nice having him and Ozzie way down there in Miami so I rarely have to hear their big mouths anymore.

Eh, Straily still has some work to do. Also, for some reason, our bullpen couldn't buy an out at times today.

White sox fans can thanks the TWINS for taking a dump and getting swept.

Liriano had his good pitches - never know what you'll get when he takes the mound.

I still say MN should of kept him.

Yeah, the Twins showed up at the right time. The ChiSox really needed to win all three games to stay ahead of the Tigers.

Liriano was a beast when he first came into the League. After his surgery...not so much...well, I should level that comment...he's a beast when he's not nitpicking the strikezone. If he's ahead of the count, he's lights-out. If the hitter is ahead? He stinks.

And yesterday, he was the latter.
