Doom I heard you guys interviewed our pitching coach Brian Price for the job...hands off
That would be a disaster for us. I think the Reds will tell him that he's guaranteed Dusty's job whenever it ends (hopefully very soon).

Team Owner
Hmm, didn't see anything on Twitter last night from the beat writers. I'll let you know. Honestly, the leader of the clubhouse seems to be old Marlins/Twins catcher Mike Redmond who was in the minors managing this year.

No sir, I don't like it.
Yanks Reach Deal With Youkilis, a Former Nemesis
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/12/sp...-youkilis.html
The Yankees have agreed in principle to a one-year, $12 million contract with Kevin Youkilis, the quintessential Red Sox player of the 2000s and one who has given the Yankees fits, to replace the injured Alex Rodriguez, who will probably miss half the season after hip surgery.
Two people with knowledge of the agreement confirmed the deal, which will not become official until Youkilis passes a physical. Youkilis, 33, had also considered signing with the Cleveland Indians.
Although Youkilis is still considered an offensive threat, injuries in the past two years have caused his production to decline. Last season, Youkilis hit a career-low .235 with a .745 on-base-plus-slugging percentage in a year he split between Boston and the Chicago White Sox, the team he was traded to after quarreling with Bobby Valentine, then the Red Sox manager.
At the least, Youkilis, who has a .300 career batting average against the Yankees with a .915 on-base-plus-slugging percentage, will be their third baseman for the first couple of months while Rodriguez recovers from surgery. When Rodriguez returns, Youkilis can split time at third base, designated hitter and first base, the position where he won a Gold Glove in 2007.
Youkilis’s signing will surely sting Red Sox fans. He joins Johnny Damon and Derek Lowe as the three most prominent players who became Yankees after winning a World Series title with the Red Sox in 2004.
Youkilis joined the Red Sox as a rookie in 2004 and almost instantly became a key contributor and fan favorite. Although he was not a starting player that postseason, when Boston came back from a three-game deficit against the Yankees in the American League Championship Series, Youkilis was a pivotal player for the Red Sox when they won the World Series again in 2007.
In 2008, Youkilis finished third in voting for the American League’s Most Valuable Player award. He spent more time in Boston than Pedro Martinez, Curt Schilling and Damon.
Before his call-up with the Red Sox, Youkilis had mostly been known as the Greek God of Walks, the nickname given to him by an Oakland Athletics executive in the book “Moneyball,” although Youkilis is not of Greek descent.
Considering the alternatives available in the free-agent market, Youkilis should help the Yankees, whose lineup has been diminished by the injury to Rodriguez, the departure of catcher Russell Martin and the likely exit of right fielder Nick Swisher.
Questions remain, however, about how he will fit into the team. Youkilis has feuded with Yankees reliever Joba Chamberlain, who has been accused of throwing at Youkilis’s head. Neither player has ever given a public explanation about the nature of the animosity.

Derek Jeter called the mother of Victoria Soto, a young teacher killed while protecting her first-grade students at Sandy Hook Elementary School in last week's Newtown tragedy.
Jeter telephoned Donna Soto on Wednesday, the same day she laid her daughter to rest. Carlee Soto, Victoria's sister, tweeted the family's excitement about hearing from Jeter.
"Derek Jeter just called my mom!!!!! Thanks Vicki, she needs it thank you @yankees this meant a lot to my mother and all of us," the tweet read.
James Wiltsie, a cousin of Victoria Soto, said she had been a huge Yankees fan, according to the New York Daily News.
"Vicki loved the Yankees -- that was part of her eulogy," Wiltsie said Wednesday night. "No one in the family reached out, so (Jeter) must have heard about it and ... reached out."
The Yankees confirmed the phone call, but declined to go into details about the conversation.
Victoria was shot to death Dec. 14 as she shielded her students in her classroom. She was 27.
"Nothing is going to fix the fact that [Donna] had to bury her daughter today," Wiltsie told the Daily News. "But I'm happy that it brought some comfort. ... People like Jeter have reached out. It brings some comfort to know that people recognize Vicki as a hero."
