Not sure which is worse: losing a game 7 after being up 4-1 with 10 minutes in the 3rd. Or, losing a series after being up 3-1. But thanks for letting me hit your pipe, I'm a bit calmer now.
I have to grudgingly agree. All four teams deserve to be here and its tough to pick a winner. Most compelling story line for me will be to see if the Kings can be the first repeat champs since Detroit.
Bye-bye Western Conference, looking forward to being back in the East next season.

Not bad at all. That "Detroit Model" is definitely impressive...no wonder Chicago is trying to carbon-copy it.

Horrid play by Bolland in front of Chicago's no-name goalie shooting it right off of JASON Williams for a goal.
LA has 2 shots...with that goal-against really Bolland's shot. Chicago has 17 shots but are losing...although, LA's name-brand goalie didn't really have to work too hard for those 17 saves. Yup, feels like a game from previous playoff years against Nashville/Phoenix...

Chicago draws first blood.
Team w/ no-name goalie 1...team with name-brand goalie 0...
No-name goalie with a nice key stop on JACK Carter in the 3rd.

I may add...no-name-goalie's only goal was scored by his own player.

Nevermind. Bruins have a FG scored against the Pens.

Yeah, I dunno...and I hope 97Ack doesn't get all e-nuts on me (CUZ, I'M NOT HATING)...but, Sid looked very distracted in the game. Not very good defensively and yapping all night to the refs...reminds me of how he was going when the Flyers beat them last year. And WTF was he doing jawing with Rask...?

And I wonder if Cooke is going to get suspended...?
all work and no play
halfway through the Pen's first power play my comcast service crashed, I ended up trying to stream bits and pieces of the game on my phone....missed mostly everything.

Name-brand goalie: yanked.
No-name goalie: doing just fine.

Good weekend series for Chicago and to hold serve...of course, it is not a series yet until a team loses at home. So, let's see what they do in LA where the Kings are very good.
The sizzle in the Steak
Was away at a beach house for the weekend....and I come back to find the Kings down 0-2?!?!?!?!
j/k....I watched both games.....from the beach
My Bottom Line: If the Kings continue to not show up and play for a full 60 minutes, then the Hawks will sweep them. It's as simple as that. The Hawks are very good, but the Kings can't make it easy by playing a period or a period and half per game and think they can win.
<----Waiting for the Kings to show up and play their game.
....and I can almost guarantee Kopitar will have knee surgery in the off season...that guy has got something seriously wrong.
Tyler Toffoli is the future!
It's tough to win games when your top two centers are out, and playing injured.

Not even a hearing, gets 5 minutes and a game misconduct for having that name on his jersey, that hit should have been a 2 minute at best. Marchand puts a far worse hit on Neal and gets 2 minutes from the same ref that almost cost Chicago the series in game 7... Hoping for a much more controlled and better called game 2

I can't believe Walkom is working the Conference Finals...
This is the same guy who didn't call Torres when he took Hossa's head off last year in the playoffs.

A new addition to the Kings line-up....to go with Brad Doty, Anje Kopidor, Jonathan Swift, and Jason Williams:

Seriously, I think at this point, they HAVE to be doing it on purpose.
The sizzle in the Steak
^^ On the contrary....the media in LA is dumber than a box of rocks.

Pittsburgh lack of team defense is going to deep-six them this year...series is not over but if things continue, Iggy and Morrow picked the wrong team to join. And if they want a track meet against whatever comes out of the West (LA or Chicago), they may have issues too...Neither Western Conference rep is the Isles or Sens.

Okay...well, Hawks being up 2 right now is a minor shock since it can be argued Chicago is a slight underdog.
But, the Bruins are not supposed to be doing this on the road against the Pens. Wow. Did not see this coming in Game 2 at all. They now have to go to Boston and win Game 3 or this is over...

Not over yet, but the B's definitely used that week off watching lots of film, our passing is just too damn predictable

Did Pens learn anything about watching Washington and their recent years' strategy to out-score opponents in the playoffs? Cuz, against a complete team like Boston...not happening.
The sizzle in the Steak
Oh those Pittsburgh Crosbies!!!!!!!
No D, No Goaltending.....No Cup.

If only the teams in the West had that sort of entry into the opponents zone like what the Pens D is allowing for Boston. Sigh.
It's like parting of the seas.

The sizzle in the Steak
^^ It's known as the "escort service".
The Kings used to do this in the late 80's and parts of the 90's.
The D-men would escort the opposition's forwards right to the slot.

Dayum. We should be seriously happy and flattered, Waldorf!
Crosby and his boys are paying homage to the Kings and Hawks teams of yesteryears! Except, with All-Stars up and down their line-up!
Senior Moderator
Personally, methinks that Crosby et al are so confident in their skills and the All-Star team they assembled that they wanted to spot Boston a 2-game lead and then, go on the road to one of the hardest arenas to win in and ROAR BACK to win the series.
The sizzle in the Steak
I wouldn't count the Crosbies out yet, but they have a very tough fight ahead of them.
Senior Moderator
Nope. It's not over until a team reaches 4 wins in a series. Didn't Boston cough up a 3-0 lead once recently...?
So, anything is possible. But, Pittsburgh needs to fix that D big-time...or Iggy et all will continue to be ring-less.

Murray-Engelland has got to be the slowest D pairing in the history of the league...
