It's being reported that he'll need surgery to repair it.

I'm sure a doctor can answer that.
It's not going to be listed under the great unknowns of the universe.

You really had to ask AZ hockey about that?

Sure.

Some injuries, like a separated shoulder, we generally it will be around 4-5 weeks return. Just not sure what is a broken tibia. So, asking.

Anyhow, I'll wait for the official word that he has a "lower body injury".

I'm gonna guess 8 weeks to get the skates back on and another 3-4 to play in a game. It sounds like a very similar injury to what happened to Campbell last year, I believe that was his rough timetable.

Ah...thanks.

So, not as catastrophic as how TSN and all of Canada is making it out to be.

Talk about over-blown. It's all it is on TSN every few minutes...breaking news and more updates.

Meanwhile, in the Philippines...

He'll be back in time to face Colorado in the Stanley Cup finals....but only to have Roy, in a fit of blind, mad rage, hit him with a stick in the same leg.

Then Roy exits, stage left, on a magical unicorn, all the while punching random women on the way out of the arena with the Cup on his back....riding all the way to Toronto, to hand them their Cup!

Tim Lie-Weekly fires up the parade machine on his predetermined parade route.....Leafs fans all have a single solitary tear streaming down from their eye.

Although, with Stamkos gone, the weakness of the East probably is even more obvious as T-Bay will probably not be very good for a stretch.

At 22 points, Vhey and Fetuccini's team is outside of the playoffs...but, in the East, that's good for #3.

No matter anymore, it's not about conferences, it's all about the division.
Top 3 in each division make up the first 12 teams. Then you got the best of the rest for the bottom 4 in each conference to go.

Then you got wild card seating mumble jumble.

Yeah, that's true. Good point...I keep forgetting that when I look at the conference standings (i.e. on TSN's site).

One thing that still makes me scratch my head is why the League approved of the new alignment though. You have way more teams duking it out in the East for playoff spots than out in the West. So, in some ways, the games amongst the Eastern teams mean more since there are fewer spots available given more teams.

In all seriousness....that net didn't even budge much.

Perhaps the league should look into better moorings that give a bit more.

That was brutal.

You'd know how the net moorings work better than I do but isn't it essentially a rubber pipe that runs from inside the ice to inside the goalpost? After seeing the gif play in super slowmo, it almost looks like he pinned the net on its mooring with his left skate right before his right leg crashed into it but I'm not sure that's possible.

Sochi was my first thought. Who doesn't want to see the worlds best goal scorer on a line with the worlds best player? I'd argue Canada hasn't had 2 players this good together on the ice since Mario and Wayne in 86. Now it's out the window, no way he's back in 12 weeks at full speed.

Going to see the Avs play the Canes tonight. Super excited. Didn't get to see a game last year with the lockout. Normally try and get to one every year when they come to town.

That was my thought as well, I was surprised at how little give the net had
