The new CBA is gonna kill deals like this. The kid was smart to sign now.
Will he last the length of that contract.....I fear he won't.
He's like Gagne....one more hit and he gets a one way ticket to the land of Adam Deadmarsh.

The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Thursday that captain Sidney Crosby will sign a 12-year, $104.4 million contract extension on Sunday that begins after next season. Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the new deal cannot be signed until July 1.
in other news, 9 years left on Rick DiPietro's deal.
Slow signs a DiPietro-type contract with the Kings: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=399458
While Slow is not the same as DiPietro, this is quite the term @ 10 years. I'm sure Waldorf's giggling.

...because, yes, the Stanley Cup Final game puck is important to the Champions
Hey, guess what Patrik Elias found in his equipment bag? The puck from the end of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Michael Altieri, the Kings’ vice president of communication, reports that the Kings got a call, letting them know that they puck would be returned. Elias, according to the Devils, returned from vacation, went to the rink, checked his equipment bag and found the puck. Altieri said the Kings will make a donation to Elias’ charity and they will get the puck.

Classy move by the Kings to donate to the "thief's" charity to boot.

And the Stanley Cup is still just a 35 pound hunk of silver with a bunch of names scratched into it, a hundred dollar bill is just a piece of paper with green ink on it, diamonds are just a shiny rock and gold is just a shiny metal.
Nothing in this world has any value whatsoever unless someone thinks it's valuable and puts "value" in having it.

Players always keep little weird things from games. I can't remember who it was, but one football has kept dirt/sod from every stadium he has played in. Basketball players, cut down the net and keep a piece for themselves.
Come now be serious.
As if the entire Kings organization are a bunch of crazy people for wanting the final game puck...
If you can't see the value in a game ball, puck, jersey, stick, bat, helmet...etc and so on from a championship game, then you are clearly not a sports fan.
...but we know you are, so you are just arguing for the sake of arguing here.
Let it go.

...Maybe he's bitter because the lineman stole the Hawks puck
