Dude, sorry, but you were the one jumping to conclusions, and going off about 9/11 and saying how the hat tribute was uncalled for, and telling moog to step off... Both of you chill out

If it is what I think I agree. Uncalled for.

Sorry.

I did not say the tribute was uncalled for, I said what I said and said sorry if I was right thinking it was a slight against the Kings. I even say sorry and then THANKED Black Label for informing me.

If you and he decided I was thinking something negative against the Kings, that is on you.

Then he went all apes*it.

I responded.

It will more times than not make you look foolish.

And on that note, you could argue that the King's physical forecheck and D-oriented style was built around Burke's Ducks model.

Cuz, LA is definitely not a puck-possession squad a la Detroit/Chicago.

Just sayin' again.

So, really...it was Deano who took notes.

I guess that's why Deano went after Pancakes...he was that missing piece to the promised land of maple syrup and fluffy short stacks!!!!

Since Burke knows all...all will be well when the Pancakes are delivered on July 1 to Toronto.

Yea, Pancakes...we know you really want to stay in L.A. You've said it publicly over and over again, but the puppet master behind all great teams is going to call you home to the great white North.

The syrups need their pancakes.

All will be right as rain.

Yes. And if Burke is taking note, he'll sign Penner to a 12-year deal to start the Ring Run for 2020.

What will Deano do in the off-season?

Question: You’re now in a unique situation — I haven’t looked at the whole history, but I assume it’s pretty unique — in that you have a chance to return a championship team intact. Do you want to keep it together? There’s a school of thought that would say some change is good…

LOMBARDI: “When we were doing this, we said that one of the benefits of maybe going slow, so to speak, was just that, that we wanted to be in a position not only to win but to keep it together. So, generally, if you go along those lines, with the draft and not over-doing the free agency, you’re able to do that. Given our age, of this team, even though we had to pay those big contracts, that’s what I was always saying with Doughty. We don’t want to go through this and just have a one-year run and blow it up. So we’re in that position now. Secondly, what you’re asking, I’ve got to do some research. This is a new experience for me. Darryl has been through it three times, although this is the first time he has won it. I find some of the dialogue I’m having to be interesting. I’m talking to a number of people in different sports, and that is one of the issues. One guy told me that one of the hard parts was, he made a mistake in terms of training camp. Because (the previous season) was so long, guys were banged up. They weren’t hard on them in camp, like they usually were, and the team didn’t come back until December. So there’s a small thing to be conscious of.

“Then, as you said, there is a school of thought that says you’ve got to make changes and not get stale. I’m not sure about that. On one hand I could say maybe, but we’re a young team. It’s not like there’s old guys that need to go, who had a last hurrah. Secondly, it’s a very tight group. You can say, `Well, chemistry changes when you’ve had success,’ and that’s true. I don’t think these are things we could sit down and analyze and come up with a definitive answer. You’re right. These are things that have to be discussed. I don’t have those answers now, but I’ve already done some surveying and I intend to do a lot more. Clearly I’ve been around a little while now, and I’m getting old, but I’m learning things I never thought of before.”

Big hole that was never filled in terms of offense and grit.
Not to mention offense was lacking last year as well.
Deano dug a bigger hole that he never filled.

The OG plan for this year was Brad Richards.
My feeling is that it was the ONLY plan.

You can't tell me that plan B was Gagne? Versus Brad Richards?!?!?

No way.

Deano thought they had Brad Richards for sure, when that failed they scrambled, and came up with not much.

Then Deano dumpster dived for Moreau and Hunter.....both were horrible and have now been waived.

Everyone hoped Penner would turn into his former self after some off season conditioning....but nope.....he was just as horrible as ever....and is now riding the pine.

Sure it was bad luck for Gagne to go out for the season (and perhaps for his career)....but everyone knows he had a history of head injuries....it was a risk, and it turned out to be a bad one.

Bottom line: The offense was NEVER addressed from last seasons lack of it....in fact it ended up going backwards in terms of production.

....and I haven't yet brought up the horrible coaching system, that kills offensive production....and probably the worst offensive PP assistant coach in the league: Jamie Kompon. How that guys is still employed is beyond stunning.

Allow me to dine!!!! Tasty!! mmmmmm good stuff!!!!

Funny how things turn out in the end.
Kompon should still be fired.

Bottom line: Sutter got them to believe in themselves and his system.
King and Nolan were huge additions to the line-up (pun intended)
Acquisition of Carter was a game changer.
Who knew Pancakes only shows up for the playoffs
Quick was pure gold all year long. Vezina for you in Vegas, Quickie!

So who wins the Vezina tonight?

The stats:
Lundqvist: 39-18-5 record, 1.97 goals-against average, .930 save percentage, eight shutouts.
Quick: 35-21-13 record, 1.95 goals-against average, .929 save percentage, 10 shutouts.
Rinne: 43-18-8 record, 2.39 goals-against average, .923 save percentage, five shutouts.

Stats are tight....when they are this tight, you gotta go with the East coast bias.
Keep in mind all voting was done at the end of the regular season.

Toss-up in my books between Slow and Henrik. But, just on numbers alone, you have to give the edge to Henrik.

Besides, the female voters probably think he's dreamy.

Quick has more shutouts and lowest GAA.
Lundqvist has the highest save %
Rinne has the most W's

Quick beats in two categories...the others in one.

However the league's east coast bias will come shinning through.

Pretty horrible show.

The Tracy Morgan skit (and I like Tracy Morgan) was borderline offensive.

"Hey look if we had a crazy black guy playing ice hockey it would be so different 'cause he'd be from the hood and all.....doing that crazy "black culture" stuff.
....because everyone knows a black guy playing hockey is sooooooo much different that the NA and euro players......they act sooooooo different.

Schedule is out (pending no lock-out) Kings will raise their Stanley Cup Banner against the Rags.

Brad Richards is gonna have to see it in person.

...and your point?

He picked the Rags over the Kings. Clearly it wasn't about coin, because the Kings offered him more. So, he thought the Rags were gonna help him get The Cup.

^ Well, dunno if that what-if game can really be played.

I don't even know if your Kings would've won the Cup if Brad was on the team. The Kings stunk for most of the year with a pop-gun offense. Clung to the low-seeded spot and if it were not for a couple of desperation moves by Deano, probably would not have won at all...

So, with Brad...maybe more offense and possibly less struggle. But, I think the early season struggles also made the Kings into what they were in the playoffs.

In other words, I think you should be grateful that Brad didn't sign with LA. And Brad also should not be stupid enough to think if he was a King, they would've won with him.
